Hope none of you are using your Mark IV pistols
Dude wow, Ruger seriously gives a shit. I absolutely love it.
How did they get this persons address to mail them this?
Their customer service has always been god-tier.
This was going on for the better part of this year. Why does this deserve a thread?
Warranty registration.

Topical!
Yeah, considering the size of the wrongful death lawsuit that's potential coming their way.
They became a LOT better after Bill died, he kind of ran the place really badly in the last few decades.
Being real, it's probably more than anything a concern about PR as well as liability. Which isn't bad, because they're approaching the concern about liability from a customer friendly and amicable angle.
Better than Remington. Remember when they knew for like 20 years that a variant of the 700 had a faulty safety that could trip the sear? And they just didn't tell anyone until some redneck lost her son in an accident?
Ruger would just totally keep quiet about this if they truly gave no shit, you can argue about the moral POV, but they know that an unsafe product will come back at them, and takes measures to try to solve that.
They've been good about informing people about it.
related: which model mk4 do I get if I want the threaded barrel?
Depends. I got a 22/45 mk4 because it's lighter than the regular mk4. Sure it's polymer, but it's not as bad as people make it out to be when it's weight involved with the gun.
I might get a mark 4 lower on gunbroker.com though, so I can have all metal gun.
My gun was 300 new, it does not have a threaded barrel but I don't mind.
Wtf why would I tell ruger who I sold my shit to? I'd be pissed if someone did that to me
Doesn't ruger specifically not have a warranty because it limited their service?Ruger has sent me out parts for free the next day based on a 3 minute conversation
they're asking you to tell the person you sold it to that their pistol was recalled.
>actually calling it a recall
good, their a reputable company unlike Sig "voluntary upgrade" Sour
Weird. Anyone know what the issue is?
I meant cause of the issue.
They also recently recalled the American Ruger Compact series.
Lol they fixed mine over a year ago.
This.
I like the old Remington and the New Ruger. Both have solid designs it’s just a reminder that at different times and under different management, even a good product can suffer undeservedly.
I remember that hit piece that I think MSNBC put out on Remington and the 700. It was a sad story about the kid being shot with the deer rifle but for fucks sake, it was still because the mom wasn’t following the 4 rules. Sorry, any way you look at it, it’s still the same conclusion. The same can be said with rifles that have hair triggers due to user adjustment. The gun was loaded and she wasn’t paying attention.
As far as the Mark 4 recall goes, it’s a testament to Ruger and their customer service. Yes, a bit overkill but it speaks to their commitment to be a reputable and honest company. Ruger firearms have that image, being honest and straightforward. I’m glad to see that they take things seriously.
Personally, I love the Mark 4 because a lot of inexpensive Mark 2 pistols have hit the market. I got a nice SS Government Target model and SS Competition Target model for a steal recently.
Ruger's CS is great. I bought a 25-year-old Mark II and found a crack in the grip frame after I got it home. Called up Ruger and 10 minutes later I had a prepaid return label. A week after that I got the gun back with a new frame and new fire control group. In the same conversation they sent me an envelope of spare parts for my Redhawk at no charge, too.
I don’t own any ruger products. But I’m glad to see they actually give a shit about their customer base
No, they want you to inform the guy you sold it to that they're having a safety recall, then it's up to that guy if he wants to send it in.
They're covering themselves legally.
Anyone own stocks in ruger thinking about buying some shares
I had a similar experience with Trijicon.
I trusted some old fudd “gunsmith” to install a set of pistol sights for me and he beat the to shit so badly eventually the orange ring in it popped out while shooting.
They not only gave me a brand new sight but they installed it free of charge in about two weeks.
