The G3s and Type 64s are fine. Battle rifles may have become an axis staple weapon due to surplus rifle rounds. We can assume they are chambered in 8mm Mauser and 7mm Arisaka respectively.
The tanks and helicopters were dumb. They Should have used Leopard 1s, M113s, and UH 1s, respectively. Most likely they used whatever tanks and armored vehicles their props department got them. The CGI shit should have been all the napkin designs like the VK 72.01 or post war West German/JSDF vehicles.

With that said, they also paint the Resistance as sociopathic assholes who want only to replace the Nazi's and Japs in terms of totalitarianism, and show them doing basically whatever is necessary to make that happen, which also makes a lot of sense. In the end, there's assholes on all sides, and no group in the show is really "good," altogether, but the Nazis, and Obergruppenführer Smith, are far and beyond shown as the most reasonable and human, in my opinion. Obergruppenführer Smith, really, is the true protagonist of the series, and an incredibly good guy IMHO.
