Do I get a US MRE "Case A" (whatever that means?) for 90ish, or RCIRs (which I know are pretty good) for 135?

This was really gross... British people should no be allowed to make food...

I cant believe nobody posted ramen yet. One of the best basecamp foods you can get and you can cook it in your steel cup over a campfire.

forgot pic, ill get started on those 20 pushups.

Attached: ramen.jpg (1500x1219, 295K)

You don't even have to cook it. Eat it dry. Crush it and dump in some cold water and let it sit for 20mins to soften up.

They really are delicious, I’m a bong from a coastal fishing town, so grew up on smoked kippers and seafood in general.

Now I have these as a little treat to myself from time to time, either when I’m innawoods or for breakfast with some toast and a big mug of black coffee.

Cant really screw up cooking this.

Just don't look at the amount of salt in it...

>microwavable
in the can? [x] Doubt

challenge accepted

hell fucking yes brother! HH

If youre running around in the woods all day from skin walkers, you'd want the salt.

1200 calories of COMBAT POWER in the palm of your hand.

If you cook this while in the can, you get these yummy crispy black parts around the can.

Smoke me a kipper, I’ll be back for breakfast.

>poverty noodles.

>never had. drink straight? add to water? good? shitty?

OMFG go to the fucking store right now. Get a can opener, a spoon and some insulin. Post aftermath.

Nah, just open up and sip it. It's like a liquid milkshake.

Spam musubi is worth a try. Beats the tar out of regular spam.

Doe pussy

About once a year me and a few friends have this event called Harambe camp, filled with a weekend of shooting drills, shelter building, drinking and so on. We got together a dutch oven and cooked beef stew and every time it turned out amazing. Sear the meat early in the afternoon and just let the other stuff bubble and stew throughout the day as we kept it on the edge of the fire. Not super practical for backpacking but great if you have an established camp.

Spam masubi is fucking amazing you uncouth cunt

>We got together a dutch oven
I'll just BET you did!

The best spam musubi is one with a layer of grilled, firmed spam with light teriyaki sauce between the rice and spam. Best when hot, good cold.

>like a liquid milkshake

How do i cook this on a bundle of sticjs in the woods in the can?

Normally you never use the can to cook, but if you got no mess kit, then can cooking it is!.

That box is for 3 meal a day.

Now you have 2 options with 0 tools or gear.
1. in the fire for that nice smokey flavor and a bitch to stir and remove.
2. Fire as normal, just collect rocks in the forest (NOT NEAR WATER). Heat them nice and toasty remove from fire, place them under and around can. Use heat from rocks to cook without fear of fire.

Attached: BakingPotatoesInCans.jpg (500x375, 86K)

Do i open it or just put it in the fire? Ive never cooked outside before. How long doni cook it for?

Crack the can or poke a little hole in the top or it becomes a pressure vessel that will fail.

You definately want a vent hole, I usually pop it off halfway, you just cook it until it's warm, All canned food is ready to eat out of the can and you're just warming it up

I said it was Jow Forums, not that it was bad!

Although Jow Forums is sometimes pretty bad.

I unironically want to eat that.
Help me, Jow Forums

Cat in picture popped two of the water pouches so I had to drink them. They were good, no taste to them. maybe will get plastic tasting after a year or two. Recommendations for cheap long term cat food?

Also not pictured are the jewish holiday candles I buy for emergency light, really good price to hrs of light ratio, like $.50 per 24hr candle

Attached: 20181012_171951_resize.jpg (3188x1793, 1.63M)

I love putting this shit in a pie crust and baking it mmmm

>Jow Forums food thread
>no MRE

Are you kidding me?

>eating absolute garbage is Jow Forums because muh memes

Cute cat. The tuna would work for cat food, but so would lots of other things. Just find out what canned fish or fowl your cat is willing to eat and buy that.

Good idea with the Jew candles, too.

MREs are shit as preps.

OP called for Jow Forums-food, not prep food.

Lol fucking casuls

Attached: beanz gud.jpg (3120x4160, 3.48M)

When I did my armed service I fucking hated all meals that required you to heat them, and ate most of them cold anyway (if they were pre-cooked) if the officers weren't watching (they were real anal about you heating your food for some reason).

It's fucking cold. I'm fucking wet. I'm in a forest. I don't want to sit and fiddle with a heating device for 15 minutes, heat the food for 10 minutes and then have 5 minutes to inhale the food before the squad leaders or lieutenants come bitching about packing up our shit and getting moving. Let me fucking eat my food in peace, sit and relax a bit and contemplate why I agreed to the conscription notice.

Sure you can. Just cook it in the can and suffer through the metal taste, then die.

More like diabetus in a can.

Dont cook food in cans unless you like eating melted plastic

What, you don't have solid milkshakes where you live? LMAO, what a third world hellhole.

>Melted plastics
>Tin can

bpa liner....

To go with the vodka.
Another good choice, personally I love baked beans.

manufacturers explicitly state do not heat food in the can

Then your canned food is gay.

Also, don't forget this.

And so are our frogs.

Literally the perfect food

>Ketchup and dough
>Perfect

I'm interested and new to Jow Forums.
Is this like Survial prep food? Or like stuff you take with camping in case you can't get fresh meat.
And it looks like people don't choose salt at all. Why?

It's like you all forgot already.

Attached: tactical-bacon.jpg (450x426, 25K)

>Is this like Survial prep food?
It's just food Jow Forumsommandoes find intresting.
>Don't choose salt
I would like to not have heart issues.

If you're gonna do this, make sure the cans you're using aren't BPA lined. Shit's not good for you.

You can also boil some water, and take it off the heat, then stick the cans in there. Since the water is no longer boiling, it won't make the cans explode, but will heat them through.
Make sure you don't do that with BPA lines cans either.

Spam is the classic, all-American canned meat product.

>I would like to not have heart issues.
You kind of need salt and heart issues is a lot more complicated than sodium intake. I'm not saying pour it on the food. I thought if it was a survival or camping thing, you'd have the food posted and then try to get fresh as much as possible and use the salt to preserve what you don't eat.

That's the label. Don't eat that.

Dried mushrooms (you can get dried shiitakes at asian shops pretty cheap), Stock cubes, and brown rice make a pretty good campfire soup/stew base. The starch from the rice helps thicken the stew as well. You can then dump whatever meat/veggies you can forage in the pot.
