Is there a niche for submarine launched drones? I imagine that aerial view would be useful for a submarine for a multitude of reasons. With drones being able to swim AND fly nowdays, you wouldn't even need to make structural changes to the submarine itself - launch the drone from a torpedo tube, and when it runs out of juice, you just let it float until it can be picked up, destroy it or have it sink to the bottom.

Yeah, of course there have been decoys, wire-guided torps and shit. I've never in my life heard about a sub using a drone before though. The closest thing that comes to mind are the weird Japanese submarine carriers from WW2, but technology has advanced a fuckton since then.
Imagine how much intelligence gathering potential of submarines would rise if they could launch small and quiet drones.

The submarine already has a plethora of masts for communication and data transfer. It could send the data, encrypted of course, out in a pulse, the sub could catch that data and self-destruct the drone. Failing that, it could also just send the data out via satellite.
Submarine needs to be broached to deploy that.

If the chamber is solid and the lockup is good, there's little chance of a dangerous malfunction. Corrosion shouldn't blow your gun up if the aforementioned parts are okay, but you definitely won't hit anything.

Airsoft question: I have a real steel 19.5" dmr with a RIS 2 rail. I want to put a cheap fab on there with the pins. I just dk how to take off the orange flash hider.
The 2 tutorials I see on YouTube say that theres a set screw and roll pin. They say to push the roll pin through the barrel, which in guessing is plastic, and to heat up the A2 FH to get the set screw out. But mine is a metal barrel. How do get roll pin out?

I installed pic related on my AR so it would stop beating the shit out of itself when I have a can on it. Now when I fire it I get a blast of pressure on the palm of my hand, it's leaking somewhere. It's not painful or anything, it's just startling and it didn't do this before I fucked with it so I'd like to fix it. I've shot it a bunch since installing it so I could pull my full length handguard off and the soot would show where it's leaking from. What can I do to fix this?

Check the description of the product. Adjustable gas blocks generally regulate pressure one of two ways: restricting the size of the hole that lets gas enter the gas tube, or venting excess gas. Your problem could be the latter, especially if it's a shorter gas system and/or you like to hold the rifle with your hand further forward on the handguard.

Discrete suburban deer retrieval? I've got a family of deer that visit my back yard every night, and a perfect tree to climb, and a bow. Yeah, pretty much anything based on a .308 will be able to be used with a barrel/upper swap.. .243, 6.5 creed, maybe .338 federal (not sure if that one will feed with standard mags though), etc.. Lots more for those that require slightly different magazines.

The current problem is communication. So you launched a drone/RPV out from your submarine without giving away your location. So at the surface it waits a period of time for the launching sub to move away and it flies off to do recon. Now how do you get the data back without compromising your location? Or to get more commands. Ocean is a pretty difficult medium to communicate thru. A sudden appearance of a small airborne device might make surfacing or moving close to the surface to get the data back from a drone unsafe. That being said I'm pretty sure the tech is currently in use. Even a drone with a ability to search the horizon optically from altitude would be handy. And towed floating antenna tech is a thing. The major hangup would be the short lifetime would make the value less versus the increased risk to the submarine. A drone broadcasting it's data would make it very visible to any military signals intel capability. Essentially screaming "If you did not know already there is a sub in this empty patch of ocean!".

They're great so long as you set them properly. What people fail to realize is they have a billion gas settings, so if it isn't set properly it'll have cycling issues. If you just take generic ammo, adjust the gas until it's just barely cycling, then crank it up 2 or 3 ticks you'll be good for pretty much everything ever.

Will loading a bullet past the cannelure cause problems? I have a bullet that extends further past the cannelure than other bullets and it won't fit in the cylinder if I crimp it where it's supposed to be.
Alternatively, if I were to remove the plastic tip from a bullet, would it still have the effects of a standard hollow point? Specifically the Hornady FTX.

Long version: I was at a new fun store today shooting the shit with the guy behind the counter. After looking at what I'd actually come in for, I browsed his wares and came across the thing pictured. After my snide remark he launched into a story involving him getting 12 of the things for the cost of 10 because some dude from an "alternative lifestyles" group that frequents the shop ordered a bunch. He sold the other eleven already, this one was basically free because of the deal, and the topic ended with him saying "if one more person comments on that, I'm going to DROS it to myself just to get rid of it." It was at that point that my inner Jew began vigorously rubbing his hands.
I'm thinking I can get a sweet deal and I do believe I can at least paint the thing to make the unicorn less obvious, but is there a federally and Commiefornian legal way to fill it in or grind it off completely?
