If you could only use one pistol cartridge for the reat of your life, what would it be and why?

If you could only use one pistol cartridge for the reat of your life, what would it be and why?

Let’s say you have a big stockpile somewhere in post-civilization. You can ignore monetary cost for the purposes of this hypothetical because you saved up over an indefinite amount of time for your preparations.

.357 Magnum

.40 S&W

this

9mm

this

7.62 tok for ease of cop BTFOing if needed

.50 AE, lemme explain

>Be forced to use .50 AE
>Get good with using muh Deagle
>Move to high crime area
>2 Niggerz try to rob me
>Shoot Nigger 1, he explodes
>Nigger 2 runs
>Stand still, shoot him through 5 walls and a fridge.

Lmao

10mm

It can do anything but hunt elephants, however it's good for anything in north America

10mm is just auto loading .357

Why not just stock up on a few cases of weak 10mm?

>post-civilization
10mm, since I don't give a rat's ass about concealment.

>10mm is just auto loading .357
Yes.
But actual .357 has more flexibility regarding the ability to shoot very light or very powerful loads that automatics have problems with. It also has a wider variety of bullet types available. Good luck shooting wadcutters in 10mm auto, for example.

I love 10mm. But if I'm stuck with only one handgun cartridge period it's going to be 357.

10mm fsm bullets can penetrate 3a

liberty civil defense 10mm can too

10mm underwood extreme defenders also can

Theres like 6 different 10mm loads that will blow through level 3a body armor just fine. ToK is nice and cheap though.

the best handgun cartridge there is tbqh

10mm or .357 Sig

best mm

>10mm is just auto loading .357
Wouldn't that be .357 Sig? Anyway, hard to find carbines aside from HiPoints in 10mm, but plenty of lever action .357 Mags though.

This
It works well in revolvers and long guns,
easy to reload and can be found everywhere. In a bad pinch you could take apart a 9mm round and reload a 357 case.

No, 9x 23 Winchester is an actual auto loading equivalent of 357 magnum.
This weak ass 10mm meme should die.

Does anything but a 1911 come in 9x23 though? 10mm still comes in several different hammer guns, and at least one striker gun.

.44 Magnum since I don't plan on getting involved in drawn out firefights and my big stockpile allowed me to get proficient with it.
Plus good for killing durr.

>Why not just stock up on a few cases of weak 10mm?

Why when I can have a gun the size of a 9mm but with a load my gun is actually meant for.

I wish it was more available.
At this point you can ream out a 9x19 or 38 super barrel and upgrade the springs.
I'm very tempted to get a glock or eaa and do that. I've seen tokerev conversions, but that sounds sketchy.

I looked up the loads for 9x23 Winchester, which I have never even heard of by the way, and it is literally as powerful as .40 SW

yes because 33,000psi is remotely close to 55,000 psi. Please do continue using meth, you fucking dumbass.

This. Well honestly a tossup between this and .45 auto but I’d lean towards .40 S&W.
>heavy bullet
>Murican big bore
>made for my favorite auto loaders
>common
>good reputation
>high cap

Link me to a load in your old irrelevant fudd caliber that makes more than 800 ft lbs of energy from a 6 inch barrel

It's newer than 10mm, and 10mm doesn't even do that, unless you're hand loading, in which case it doesn't matter which you use. 9x25 Dillon would be an option at that point.

Attached: 10mm.png (1016x526, 113K)

357 mag does though.

Attached: 357mag.png (1017x526, 107K)

Either 10mm or .357 sig.
Though .30 Carbine would also be neat.

Do you have the data for that old super boolit that was available for 9mm handguns.
Forgot how it was called but I know you could modify the BHP to shoot it.

Either 5.7 or 10mm

>9x23
>Not Mauser Export
Shit taste m8

dude, 9x23 largo is not even remotely close to 9x23 winchester.

>Mauser Export
>Italian 9mm
You okay there bud?

sorry, 9x25

>Almost 40,000 PSI in a century and change old round
Not bad for something that predates a lot of stuff.

10mm because I have 2 guns in it already and it's effective against large, unarmored targets.

Holy shit boys, this is some new levels of fuddery
>heavy bullet
Lol yeah dat beefy 165gr
>made for my favorite auto loaders
So are far superior calibers. Basically anything 40 is also available in 9mm, probably in 45 and 357sig as well
>common
Not for long
>good reputation
For what? Being the go-to choice of niggers?
>high cap
For a handgun caliber? Actually it's not that impressive.

Brendan Frasier' son? With FAS?

If its wrol 10mm, if its rol, 45 acp or 357 magnum

7.62x38r

>wrol vs rol
Why would that matter?

10mm auto

known to kill people, deer, and bear. reasonably effective at medium ranges out of a long enough barrel. recoil is as manageable as a .45 out of full sized pistols. can be downgraded down to .40sw power for cop type duty where overpenetration is a no. there are plenty of good reliable auto loading handguns and carbines made for it, while autoloading pistols for the step up, .357 magnum, are unreliable boutique shit. don't forget you need a gun for that ammo, and cowboy guns are dead outside of hobby and sport for a reason.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 202K)

>.357 magnum
>Cowboy guns
How about no

9x18 makerov because you can cram that fucker into an innumerable amount of soviet weapons

Using that logic, 32 acp/7.62 can be fired/with a chamber adapter, in more guns than any other round.

All revolvers are cowboy/cop LARP guns.

Wrol ill open carry bc assume active threats, and as such can have a larger gun

.38 special.

Oh, I was just thinking the caliber difference was the reason. Carry on.

5.7 FN, I'm a sucker for memes

underwood gets over 800, liberty does too

that chart is shit

.357 Magnum

Imagine being this 9mm

.32 S&W Long

7.6x25 Tokarev

Attached: 1803568-1514919275093-26112303_586585318340428_5922470097740729771_n.jpg (960x960, 101K)

use Bulgarian ammo if you do this

>No 5.7 mm

7TCU or 6.5JDJ

fpbp

9x25 Dillon or bust

Perfect 1st post.

Wouldnt 500 S&W Magnum be even more deadly?

>Imagine being so BTFO about your retarded caliber choices you couldn't even formulate a real response
