This could’ve been much worse. I stayed up too late and was racking the slide throughout the night while I was breaking in the trigger. I racked a round while I was playing video games and I forgot about it. And I shot a round into my upper wall/ceiling area.
I’m surprisingly calm and my ears aren’t ringing. I’m emotionally terrified now.
A 9mm is quiet. It woke up other people in the house in close proximity but it wasn’t nearly as loud as I thought it would.
Christian Rogers
they really shoudl raise the age for guns to 25
Matthew Thompson
anyone live upstairs? at least you didnt shoot your roomates
Colton Robinson
SHALL
Luke Anderson
Which gat?
Connor Reed
Yes. There was someone pissing on the other side of the wall. Jesus H. I had on my headset and luckily shot the trajectory high. I see the entry but not the exit. I’m assuming it went into the ceiling. This is causing a flood of emotions and realizations about things.
Matthew King
My room mate left a kettle on the oven for like 8 hours a few days ago and it melted to slag. Could have burned us all alive. My question is what caliber bullet to shove up his ass as punishment
Juan Mitchell
>This is causing a flood of emotions and realizations likely the realization that you're mentally retarded and the sadness that follows such an epiphany
Jaxson Rodriguez
Negligent and retarded both work. Accidental discharge is reserved for a gun malfunction, not user negligence.
Joseph Moore
M&P Shield 9mm Performance Center.
I’ve shot it tons of times at the range but this is a different story. When they say “surprise yourself with the round when you slowly squeeze the trigger” they weren’t lying. It felt like the recoil was hardly anything. I don’t know if the ported barrel has that much to do with it or not. There are people in the house still asleep.
Gavin Johnson
>causing a flood Yep. Get your bucket ready next time it rains, kiddo.
Ayden Reed
why were you loading steel cased ammo
Ryan Long
learn from it its never happened to me but its happened to enough Jow Forums anons like me to self impose 2 rules >just don't play with your guns at all >if you can't help it, play with the gun you can't get ammo for anyways
you'll get over it when you die one day anyway user
PS: if its not too late tell everyone its your "ready to go burglary gun" and that you dropped it so thats how it went off only god needs to know how bad you ACTUALLY fucked up
Jaxson Richardson
Yes.
I’ve been around guns constantly my entire life. I was in the military.
And it goes to show you that user negligence is the issue nearly 100% of the time when there’s an accident. You can never completely remove the retard from situations like these either. I’m storing the guns differently from now on.
Landon Myers
This is the best way to learn to NEVER load a live round unless you're about to shoot or about to cc it or store it for HD. Don't ever make that mistake again, first rule treat all guns like they are loaded fammo.
Dude, I shit you the fuck not, I just had one about a half hour ago, and was about to make a thread about it, but this works too.
>wake up to noises in house again >usually have small noises, but this sounded like someone was at the door, and jiggling to get in (I have an old crappy hook for the door) >grabbed my Westernfield 550, opened the door, and cocked a buckshot load into place >aim shotgun into kitchen, then living room >get to front door, open it, see no one is in there >feel relieved, but annoyed that this keeps happening >suddenly, loud noise from behind me spooks me, and I accidentally let round off (my shotgun has a very sensitive trigger) >in complete disbelief and confusion about what just happened >turn around to see my fucking cat rustling around in the open closet behind me >swear I'm going to kill her someday >look around for a minute to see where the buckshot went >It went straight through the corner of my living room book case, through my kitchen cabinet, glass bowl, and wall >panicinitiated.jpg >worry about if I hit someone or something >wondering if I should call police or not >do some checking through random sites about this stuff, each one with different suggestions >decide to settle it by checking outside to see if round went through any houses or such >luckily, all pellets stopped dead into the wall >phew >start sealing holes in walls >had to post here to at least get it off my chest >that was my last buckshot round too
I feel stupid about it, but I know stuff like this happens, and this is the first time this has ever happened to me. I could've probably avoided it better if I didn't have my safety on, but I guess you live and learn. It's okay, OP. You aren't alone, and I was just as scared as you. Maybe still just a little bit.
Nathan Morgan
Honestly I understand racking and dry firing guns absent mindedly while bumming around on the couch or whatever, but why the hell you would do so with ammo around is beyond me.
Oliver Torres
Could be bimetal carry ammo
Easton Ramirez
Hollowpoints.
You’re being really cool about it. So are the people involved. I was thinking recently about how I was happy that there are no pictures of me around going fake ganster with selfies of guns. I’m usually responsible. The Shield is my EDC and I loaded it before I went out to take a trip in my car. I was breaking in my trigger and sighting in but doing it distractedly with video games going. Dumb dumb dumb.
Joseph Flores
Low IQ shitheads like you shouldn't own guns. Period. Take that gun to a pawn shop or a gun store tomorrow and sell it. Use the money on education.
Nicholas Roberts
>I no dis >I wuz in da miluhtary I hate fucks like you. You want to know how I know you're enlisted? You fucking ND and then post about it on Jow Forums. This is where my tax dollars went. To retarded fucks like this
Zachary Jones
At least you have an excuse that you were in a home defense mindset and thus had your gun loaded as is appropriate. OP was just finger fucking his gun with ammo in.
Nathan Jenkins
if the trigger is sensitive even more reason to keep your finger off it
William Sanchez
I know better. Fuck my ass. I stayed up way too late and I haven’t been sleeping well. My brain isn’t operating at 100%. Let this be a lesson to you invincible feeling Jow Forumsomrades who think they are responsible. I thought I was responsible too. Just be careful. You don’t want to know the guilt that I’m feeling about this and how much different it could’ve been with a different bullet path. I’m so stupid.
Adam Morgan
Wow, that sure is crazy! Say, you wouldn't mind sharing your city of current residence and the date on which you purchased that firearm, would you? Also any unreported firearm discharges within city limits are federally a class 1 felony with charges up to 10 years in jail and/or a $15,000 fine, so be sure to report the incident to your local PD!
God well I’m at least not alone. How did you like that feeling when you realized what you had done? Wasn’t cool was it? It happened so suddenly and honestly subtly that it took a second to realize what the fuck happened.
Grayson Gomez
It’s amazing how much devastation a little cavitated lead round traveling at over 1000/FPS can do.
Easton Richardson
Cool well you made me feel worse. You happy now?
Asher Powell
Thanks. That makes me feel a bit better, but I'm probably not going to sleep tonight.
Thanks for the advice.
Nice trips. And it was mostly a jumpscare and confusion. I just couldn't believe that it happened, and I was almost convinced that that wasn't what really happened, but the second the smell of gunpowder hit my nose, I was in full panic mode, and I was almost checking myself to see if I hit myself. Didn't realize where anything went until a full minute or so had passed.
Caleb Nelson
fucking retard
Andrew Ward
Unironically, he just fucked himself if there's ever an investigation. They'll find this and have their confession along with pictures taken from his phone. He prides himself on not having an stupid pictures on social media, but here he is telling on himself. Good. Dipshits like this do not deserve guns and I'd report his ass if I find out where he lives.
Andrew Brown
You were being retarded but thank you for reminding me that this could happen to me too. I mean that unironically, btw
>playing with gun >while playing video games >using live ammo You sound like a child, a gun is not a toy it's a tool. It should have your complete attention. Negligent behavior.
Wyatt Gray
it's easy to criticize with 20/20 hindsight but I have a feeling everyone will ND at least once in their lifetime pretty much every big time youtuber has had it happen and whos more autistic about safety then them? even if you're the epitome of jack coopers rules of penis inspection then there's still the possibility of failing to extract a live round which I am unnaturally paranoid about but that's the kind of mechanical failure that guarantees a ND is most situations and anyone on here who says they never "play" with their guns is a fucking liar and they know it if going out to blast dirt isn't "playing" then I don't know what is
Honestly this is why I’m doing it. You have assholes like this guy but I knew that I was going to get posts from across the spectrum and was willing to take licks to my credibility on here to just remind anyone who reads this.
I’ve always thought of myself as a lowkey responsible type of gun owner but here we are tonight. Let’s not mince words: guns are made to kill things at a distance and I almost did just that.
Remember that no matter how “cool” or “historical” your firearm is, an extra degree of safety should be exercised around firearms no matter what. I let my guard down and fucking A here I am.
Thomas Smith
Not OP, actually the guy who discharged the shotgun, but thanks, man. You helped me feel a bit better about it. Huge thanks.
Hunter Stewart
I got to comfortable around my guns man. I started treating them like a set of car keys whenever I leave the house. It was always in my center console or near my bedstand. I need to realize (obviously) the severity of what I have done for a change in the thought process to occur. This cannot happen again or I’m selling every single firearm I have.
Benjamin Brown
accidentally discharge into your brain next time
Isaiah Wilson
I am OP and meant to thank for for sharing in this round of Firearms Anonymous. Jeez, maybe we can fall back asleep eventually. I hope that doesn’t sound too gay.
Jason Watson
Let's hope so. It's ironic, because I'm actually heading up to a gun show tomorrow to try and sell said shotgun and see about buying an older Remington 870 or even a double-barrel.
I need to feel bad about this for a second, but thanks guys.
Dylan Stewart
No problem
Samuel Scott
it takes TEN SECONDS at most to pick up a gun and immediately unload it
you should beat yourself and whoever taught you
Caleb Butler
So no joke, I went out to get a pack of cigs. The left turn arrow traffic light turned green while the forward stoplights stayed red. The car next to me in the other lane pulls out from the light thinking it was green and almost plowed into the car turning in the opposite direction. I started honking. Negligence everywhere... crazy negligence everywhere.
Thomas Harris
Guess everyone here tonight was having a crazy time.
Christian Jackson
You just had a negligent discharge and you have the nerve to call me an asshole? You have no credibility anymore. You should not have guns. Had you shot and killed someone in that house, you'd be in police custody right now. Only reason you're not is because the gun happened to be pointing away from everyone by chance, which you were completely unaware of. It's the same accident, regardless of outcome and as far as I'm concerned, it only takes one fuckup for you to not be trusted. You want to know what a better lesson to teach than your stupid "I fucked up, got really scared, but I'll never do it again!" bullshit is? Try "I was irresponsible with a deadly weapon, got locked up, and now I can never own guns again," that way people know the consequences before they even get into guns. It's life or death. You missed your shot at being a responsible gun owner and now you get nothing. I hate people like you. How would you feel living around a reckless piece of shit like you? You want us to forgive you and accept that you learned from it, but I don't. You're a stupid fucking faggot and you give gun owners a bad name. If you had an ounce of discipline you'd do the honorable thing and turn in your guns tomorrow because you can never come back from this. You fucked up, asshole.
Bentley Parker
Hey guess what I’m not even going to read that. Hope you had fun typing that out.
Gavin Watson
Good, just proves my point.
Aiden Hall
I don’t know why I’m answering this because I’ve explained this and need to go to bed. You know that feeling where you’ve done something accidentally and felt bad about it? I’m never going to get that pull of the trigger back. The best I can do is learn from this. I know I should’ve cleared it. I did something fucking dumb. I took out the mag and was testing the trigger and I put the mag in, tacked it, took it out, played some video games, and shot off a round with no mag loaded in the well some time later. I know I fucked up.
Angel Brown
Cool. How do you feel now? Better about yourself? Was it a self-validating post? Sounds like it was very satisfying.
Elijah Taylor
>I'm not even going to take my medicine fuck you guys I know better I was on your side, but now I'm kinda with him, you're an irresponsible gun owner. Period. Unfuck yourself.
Michael Gonzalez
>credibility who cares about that? this is a anonymous website you're both suspended
Chase Moore
Oh no what am I going to do with myself without samefag’s support?
Isaac Wood
I was responding directly to what he posted here: >I (...) was willing to take licks to my credibility on here
OP, you are in such denial of what just happened that you can't even sit back and eat a slice of humble pie for 2 hours. I'm all done entertaining your bullshit. Have a nice life. And make sure the next one goes through your head.
Nolan Robinson
cool larp bro
Jason Ross
not OP you dumb nigger
Jeremiah Anderson
An entire box of .22lr
Colton Jackson
I haven’t seen this in so long. I forgot this existed.
Benjamin Jenkins
>doing it distractedly with video games going. this is why you dont just treat guns like a casual piece of dildo. you give them your 100% undivided attention and when you are done you put them away. what is so hard to understand about this?
the only reason NDs happen is because people are either stupid, or get complacent which then leads to them doing something stupid. do not get complacent with your guns, they are not toys, they can kill people.
Carter Moore
The same type of person that plays with a loaded gun while playing video games is the same type of person that will play on their phone while driving and end up plowing their car into a bunch of people on the sidewalk. Both will eventually end up killing somebody, it's only a matter of time.
Trigger discipline is important kids! Keep your finger off the trigger until you want to shoot.
If you must play with the trigger, you make sure the fucking thing isn't loaded.
That would be an infringement. Simply set the age for being considered human at 25.
Cooper Ward
Yet another "you don't need to treat the gun like it's loaded 24/7, sperg" poster appears. Wow.
Michael Young
similar situation > be 21, new to handguns >heard something >got out sp101 >for some stupid reason decided to cock it >found out nothing was going on >now had a cocked revolver >thought I could competently drop the hammer with my thumb blocking >still decided to use 5 gallon bucket full of sand >thumb slipped and round went harmlessly into sand bucket blowing sand everywhere >smart enough to put on earpro >could have been a lot worse and now I know to use my index finger to block so finger slip isn't a factor
Ryan Reed
AND you're a crybaby.
Good lord, just off yourself instead of being a waste of tax payer's money. You did something negligent then get ass-hurt when people call you out on it and also point out that you're filling every trope basic bitch enlisted fill. It wouldn't surprise me if you have a Mustang too.
You're the lowest common denominator of society which is why you were probably cannon fodder in the military.
Jason Green
>I have a feeling everyone will ND at least once in their lifetime
There are tens of millions of people who would beg otherwise.
ND's are a sign of somebody who is too stupid to handle firearms and give gun-grabbers ammo for us all being idiots.
It's not hard to be safe with guns if you have a couple of brain cells to rub together. Shit like what OP did have no excuse, and you should stop trying to make the faggot feel better for being such an idiot.
Robert Nelson
just open the chamber
Nicholas Reyes
it locks on a revolver when the hammer is back
Lincoln Robinson
you
are
an
idiot
Thomas Myers
>Accidental Unless you had a century old gun and bullet magically go off it was a Negligent discharge.
Dylan Hughes
Why the fuck did you rack the round dipshit? Also WHY DONT YOU CHECK THE CHAMBER EVERY TIME YOU PICK IT UP
Colton Evans
>using buckshot for home defense I hope you learned your lesson.
Grayson Johnson
Fucking kek
Charles Myers
This
Unless its 100% mechanical failure that caused it, all non-intentional discharges are negligent
Xavier Sullivan
>Negligent discharge. What freaking difference does it make Judge Judy?
Jace Scott
Not sure if previous pasta, but it is pasta now!
Grayson Torres
hey asshole
safety rules are written in blood
a large one. one is operator error, the other is a mechanical malfunction
Wyatt Watson
As if the feds have the energy or intent to prosecute urban gun crime. They are a joke when it comes to gun crime prosecution stats.
Why the fuck were you playing with a gun that had a loaded mag? For that matter, how had you been racking the slide continuously but only just chambered a round?
Cooper Roberts
I actually laughed aloud at this. Well done user.
John Gray
yeah I've been there and it's embarrassing >be me 25 years old >be October 31st 2017 >be dress in my leather trench coat handing out candy and drinking heavily >no armed >light fire for Trick or treaters >serve booze to neighbors from slushie machine (Margarita mix/tequilla) >some people go in house as it settles down >decide to watch some tv with them before going upstairs >look at my shiny SW-60 >decide to practice reloads with muh new speed loader >sit down cross left foot under right straight out >reload, pull trigger --catch with thumb to prevent bang try again >30x later >unload rounds from gun into speed loader, lock speed loader throw speed loader on carpet >swing back in cylinder empty >set gun on carpet >left hand grabs speed loader, right hand grabs gun ---swing out cylinder >speed load -- cowboy swingarm >pull trigger >BANG! >.38 special round nearly misses that foot that was straight out goes into the carpet, hits the footpeg of the cabinet >more riccochet >ears ringing >father comes from living room to the stairs >suddlenly think he thinks I suicided >"yo I'm ok" >he gets pissed asks me to come down after I explain and sit on the couch with other neighbor who was oblivious >watch rest of football game sobering up >next day get my guns taken away til January >buy moar guns cause USA >never selling my SW60 >new found respect for muh guns >especially the SW60 >respect that gun for not blowing my foot off
Years ago when I was like 13 my grandpa was showing me a new shotgun he got for home defense, and he kept it loaded of course and before he let me handle it he wanted to unload it. This was the first semiauto shotgun he had ever owned and in trying to unload it he shot a round into the floor, my brother in the other room didn't even notice and we nexver told anyone, until he died a few years ago I told my mother
William Edwards
You're an idiot.
>buh buh I was in da military!!
As if that automatically makes you a firearms expert
>I grew up around guns!
AS IF THAT AUTOMATICALLY MAKES YOU A FIRARM EXPERT.
The fact is, you lulled yourself into a false sense of expertise from experience that really means fuck all to gun ownership. It's fucks like you give give gun owners a bad name. Fuck you.
Jordan Baker
do bad you didnt shoot yourself, dumbass
Xavier Taylor
Kinda this, but I never think about grabbers. Rule is never fuck around when people's lives are at stake.
Easton Morales
That's dumb as fuck to think every owner will eventually have an ND.
