He wanted to kill only his co-workers specifically. Dude was so unhinged that he didn't even want to actually make a shooting spree.
After killing his co-workers he just kept shooting at the products of the store to cause collateral damage.

The funny part about this is he worked at a grocery store. If he didn't live with his parents he would have to live off tax payer benefits as a welfare queen and never could have afforded any of this. He probably would have just killed himself a lot sooner if he wasn't in a dead end job. He didn't even target the people that take home more than enough to not be welfare queens. He just went for the little people that can be replaced easily. Even the higher ups would get replaced easily he just did the least damage as possible while trying to do the most.
