We are apparently now the closest we've been to nuclear war since 1953, according to the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists. Strangely, it seems the Bulletin simply skipped over the Cuban Missile Crisis. Even considering that they kept a good chunk of the Crisis out of the news, they didn't even make any retroactive pronouncements. In other news, Jerry Brown is one of the chairs of the Bulletin as of like yesterday. It's interesting, but I'd take their clock with a grain of salt.
