Why do Russian missiles launch like this?

Why do Russian missiles launch like this?

This is very inefficient compared to more superior missiles. Why not just copy the launch mechanism?

>Why do Russian missiles launch like this?
The pot metal that russian ships are made out of can't handle the heat from a rocket exhaust and would quickly become damaged and deformed if the engine ignited in the tube like typical missile designs. Their solution was to use a kicker charge to launch the missile a safe distance from the deck and hatch assembly before igniting the rocket, similar to the way many infantry rocket launchers work (e.g. the rpg family).

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertical_launching_system#Hot_launch_and_cold_launch

read up

That is incorrect, this one is more believable.

Alright smarty-pants.

Russian missile use much more powerful engine compare to western missile(RD-170 the world most powerful rocket engine ever made).

So they need to be cold lauch. Cold launch also look way better, unlike the virgin hot launch.

Most infantry missile system are hot launch, retard. Like TOW and kornet.

Ignoring the fact that "hot/cold" launch are terms generally inapplicable to infantry-portable weapons systems (and that infantry-portable systems have nothing to do with shipboard systems, the topic of the thread at hand), this is a fundamentally incorrect statement.
>RPG family
soft launch
>Stinger family
soft launch
>TOW family
soft launch
all of these are two-stage weapons since for a man-portable missile weapon to be utilized safely, the primary propellant charge must either be completely expended inside the tube (panzerschreck, bazooka), which by nature reduces effective range, or after initial launch once it is a sufficient distance from the operator in order to not fry them. In conclusion, you're a retarded nigger.

>Why not just copy the launch mechanism?
Because they are not stinky cunt-eyed Chinese and can actually develop their own things instead of producing endless lines of shitty copycats.

How the hell this doesn't explain why?

"The advantage of the cold-launch system is in its safety: should a missile engine malfunction during launch, the cold-launch system can eject the missile thereby reducing or eliminating the threat. For this reason, Russian VLSs are often designed with a slant so that a malfunctioning missile will land in the water instead of on the ship's deck. As missile size grows, the benefits of ejection launching increase. Above a certain size, a missile booster cannot be safely ignited within the confines of a ship's hull. Most modern ICBMs and SLBMs are cold-launched."

This is old. The slant launchers were already exchanged for VLS.

Here's an example of a Hot and Cold launch failure

>Vatnik spergs out when confronted with the the impotence of his pathetic paper kitten military.

How completely surprising and novel.

I'm surprised they moved towards a real VLS box instead of those disgusting revolver style VLS units.

Cool

*liquid fuel rocket engine
And you still couldn’t reach the moon. Sad!

>Why do Russian missiles launch like this?
Cz they don't want to waste time by having crew members scrubbing off the sometimes toxic residue missile leaves behind in the launcher.

But seriously, they use cold launch cz it's safer they usually eject the missile from the container at such an angle that if the roceket motor fails to start, then the missile wouldn't fall back onto the deck.

The hot launch the US ships are using are cheaper as they don't need a seperate system to eject the missile, they ignite it inside the launcher and the bugger takes off on it's own power. But this is less safe, cz if you ignite the rocket and suddenly some mechanical problem turns up and the rocket can't exit the launcher...well, let's just say, I'd hate to be on that ship where one missile is burning a hole right into a container full of other missiles.

Did you seriously just said that shit? Be stupid somewhere else, have you ever done something else beside being an idiot for this board? Only one upset is you, that is the only reason why you keep posting here.

Don’t fucking remind me

If I'm the stupid one here how come you're the one who couldn't tell rail launcher apart from a missile tube?

I mean your stupidity can be easily attributed to your ignorance, but why are you projecting it on others on the top of that? After all I'm not the one who couldn't tell rail launcher apart from a missile tube and talked shit about ship's hull "not being able to handle the heat from a rocket exhaust".

You can almost hear the clicking of his keyboard from him typing a post, about why this board is shit, how no one discusses anything with him, because no one can counter what he says.

This board is only shit during american power-hour when it gets filled to the brim with shitposting shartnik stench brainwashed by CNN why can't tell a rail launcher apart from a missile tube yet pretend they know everything and disregard anyone who points out how ignorant and ineducable they are.

You want to know a handy guide how you get a thread full of (you) resposes from a single guy on Jow Forums? It is quite easy:
1. Say something bantering critical or negative about russian things
2. Add something that is half right
3. Enjoy endless responses of that one assmad vatnik retard that cant let it stand that one bad or wrong thing was said about anything russian
Why dont you give it a try? Would probaly be the most intersting talk you ever had with yourself.

You never have to pretend.

See, this impotent attempt to banted could've maybe worked if you were not an ignorant ineducable shitposting faggot who can't tell a rail launcher apart from a missile tube.

Attached: 1143.3 novorossiysk (1).jpg (1138x1280, 579K)

I am not even that guy that said the thing with the rail launcher, i am just making fun of your idiotic behaviour. Also what i said is working like a charm, dont even have to be the guy for it to work and all that thanks to your autism and proneness to get triggered over so minor things.

If my behaviour is idiotic how come I'm not the one who can't tell a rail launcher apart from a missile tube?

the cannon fires the 9 o'clock barrel. The placement allows the targeting to be center line with the frame, this way, you can easier point the aircraft at the intended target with a higher degree of precision.

Because you think someone else is doing something stupid, you cant be doing something stupid at the same time?

Holy shit you're dum

There's nothing stupid about ridiculing an ineducable retard who can't tell a rail launcher apart from a missile tube tho.

Yeah, with one or two post or so, but your unability to ever quit on the other hand is just plain stupid, same reason why people wind you up with it, it just works every time.

Why would I quit humiliating a faggot who is trying to squeeze his way out of being wrong acting as if he's right instead of simply admitting that he learned something today? Talking about autists, lol.

You are arguing about something that completely went over your head tard. Russian ships are made of tin foil so the afterburner needs to be external. Rail, tube, ejection boost, all is the same, external to the hull. The more you argue the stupider you sound.

If you take a close look, there are rails inside of the tubes you fucking moron.

You know the saying of wrestling with a pig? I wonder how it goes when two pigs wrestle.

Stronger pig wins

meanwhile, in reality, the board turns to shit every morning during the noguns yurosperg posting primetime where they proceed to wander into a board about weapons they're never going to be allowed to own and military equipment they don't know shit about

You truely have autistic tendencies.

Euros are fine, they are at least going against their own idiots, russians on the other hand...

>Russian ships are made of tin foil so the afterburner needs to be external.
Refer to all the pictures that I posted showing the boosters pushing the missiles out of the tubes, you braindead imbecile. Actually no, here's a video to humiliate you even further.
And if you take an even closer look you will see that they are inside of the fucking tubes, meaning the boosters' ignition also happens inside of the fucking tubes and not in open like with rail launchers which proves his retarded argument about ships "not being able to handle the heat from a rocket exhaust" is exactly that - completely fucking retarded, you dumb fucking moron.
