Just finished my first AR and I need to stick some optics on it, I need a red dot under $200 that will be accurate and somewhat durable
Are Holosun and Sightmark viable options or chink shit? Maybe should I just save up and get an Eotech?

Buy an airsoft optic
Holosun or primary arms microdots. Good shit
Bushnell TRS25. Don't pay more than $100. Or get a SIG Romeo.
Sig Romeos are just rebranded Holosuns.
got a holosun 406. It has none of the fancy gimmick shit and holds zero. costs $200ish. I recommend it
Having the same OEM doesn't mean that they are rebrands. It's never been confirmed that they're the same OEM anyway, just that sig red dots are made in china, and holosun are made in china. There's more than one optic company in china you know, even sig uses multiple. I know they at least uses Galaxier and Sintai Optical Shenzhen for some of their stuff that is made in china.
This info is taken from the bulk carton. I would assume that other brands would have them too if someone has access to them. Sig sometimes send them out in these cartons, but don't know if other brands do.
This. I got this model that had been rebadged by TruGlo and it’s only second to my aimpoint. I’ve knocked the shit out of it by mistake and never had to change the batteries in 2 years.
I have a Vortex Strikefire on one AR and a Crossfire on another. Both pretty nice.
Do not no matter buy single len reddot or open style cause emitter is exposed to get obscured by dust, dirt, or rain.
Experienced it myself when shooting in rain.
*do not no matter what
>Under no circumstances should you...
>Sig Romeos are just rebranded Holosuns
always one retard that says this yet can never provide any proof, gooby plz
They probably are but the point is moot. Likewise the PA dots are also supposedly holosun.

This is currently $100 to your door.
Otherwise save up for a eotech, mro or a aimpoint.
Never should you ever...
>No one NEEDS...
I'd recommend a tube style red dot rather than an open style reflex sight. in my experience the open ones collect dust and dirt more easily smudging the objective and stuff. rain and dirt and etc can also block the emitter on open sights making shooting in weather annoying. Holosun is good to go although at their prices you may be better off spending another $100 and getting an aimpoint pro. a lot of holosuns are around $300-350 and a pro can be had for $400 or cheaper if you look for used ones.
Holosun holographic optic or EOtech?
>primary arms microdots
I have one and I hate it.
Here's something I found posted from PA about all of this rebadge shit in general. guy is not directly involved in buying and manufacture, but some insight at least.
>They ARE all made in China, but I do want to say that it isn't necessarily the same factory. We have three different micro dots right now, the $90 entry level MD-RBGII (micro dot, removable base gen 2), the $170 MD-ADS (micro dot, advanced dot sight), and the $150 MD-RB-AD (micro dot, removable base, advanced). Despite the names sounding darn near the same when you spell it all out (I know, I know, it's not my fault), each of those sights is actually made in a different factory.
>I don't want to give away too much of the game and I don't want to mis-speak, but I also try to be honest with you guys at all times and give you the insider's take when I can. And I assure you, while most of these factories are located near Shanghai, not all of them are. And they compete with each other and steal tech from each other, copy each other and undercut each other and generally hate each other's guts. And in total there are over 20 factories making red dots in China right now, and I don't even have a complete count because I don't know about them all, I'm just a marketing guy mostly. So imagine a deep seated competition like Ford/Chevy/Dodge where they are always spying on each other, trying to hire each other's best employees, and trying to make a better or cheaper version of what the other company is working on... except there are more than 20 of them.

In regards to SIG, maybe their old sig tac line was just off the factory floor rebranding, but all of their current stuff is at least in house designed and then major components made overseas (China, Philippines, and japan)
They might use some of the same major components, but would you call a Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 a rebrand of a Samsung Note 9 because they use the same processor?
Rebranding does exist, yeah, my FN optic is a C-More optic, but I don't know why this "all Chinese red dots come from the same factory. Buy the cheapest one" shit is so prevalent

People cheap out or can't afford better stuff at all, and then try to justify their purchase and convince themselves and everybody else that people who spent more didn't actually get anything better. You see the same shit in any expensive hobby, here in the gun world with people shitting on anything that's not the cheapest possible AR you can get or whatever, and it's particularly rampant on car forums.

Pretty much this.
Personally I see no "shame" in buying cheap, but there is idiocy to be found when you think that in doing so, you will recieve something not cheap. Pic related.
I bought a $100 3-9x "scope" for my AR, fully expecting it to break on the first round. It did not. Surprisingly it even held zero. The eyebox is pretty shitty even at 3x and the glass clarity is meh, but sofar it hasn't broke, thats bretty good considering the price. Its a stopgap until I buy something nice (after christmas, just to be sure I don't get something as a present).
