I don't feel bad at all. I felt sad at first that this person's death was so pitiful, dying in such a godforsaken place. But i got over it. Mostly because: it was my duty, they made a choice to try and deal death to my comrades and therefore shouldn't be suprised when death takes them instead, and I believe death and life are 2 sides of the same coin and one is necessary for the other. Also I don't believe in an afterlife and I am comforted by the fact that oblivion is the end of everything for a person so death doesn't bother the dead it just hurts the living.

before deploying i thought alot about the possibility to kill a human being and it probably haunting me, then i actually saw combat and it turned out different. there were multiple occasions when i had to shoot back at where the muzzle flashes are, and then, the only time i could really see that i was shooting at a human being, it actually took me a few seconds to squeeze the trigger, i had to overcome something that felt like a natural barricade in my mind. in the end i did it tho.
and now, 4 years later, i gotta say the only sad thing about is the thought that there were jihadis i missed. no regrets whatsoever, every single one of the guys i might have killed chose that life, and by killing one or more i might have saved dozens of innocent lives. not only those of comrades, but a lot of different people. islamist jihadis have to be removed, there's no alternative.

When I was a little kid, probably under 8, I used to be a prolific frog killer. With my AR pistol it’s an insane huge ball of fire and with my AR shooting a mixed magazine with xm855/tracers it’s still visible.
When I had my AK and did dumb mag dumps at the river at night there was enough muzzle flash to illuminate the ground so I could see around my feet. What the fuck are you even talking about
