1. Post interesting stuff from countries which joined NATO since 1999
2. Today is 100 years since founding of Czechoslovak republic. At 14:00 CET is starting a military parade in Prague - we will see czech army, air force, firefighters etc. Slovak air force will show some pieces.
3. Question - can anyone tell me which exact T-72 M1 configuration Hungary uses? Is it identical to models from 80's (made in Poland and Czechoslovakia) ?
New NATO members equipment
>Post interesting stuff from countries which joined NATO since 1999
The tank you have in the image is the Czech T72M4 CZ it's basically a comprehensive upgrade of every aspect of the T-72M1 that was so upgraded it ended up being too high the price per each tank (from an initial estimate of $3.7Millions and closing on a final cost of 5.2 Millions per tank)
How inferior are those tanks compared to the original Chinese super T-72?
>Chinese
>super
China improvised upon the T-72 so much that they are considered different and superior than the Russian variant.
Considered by who?
Military experts that matter.
Show them.
>not posting link to the parade
Nigger
>Spoonfeed me plox
Lurk more, faggot.
Didn't Columbia join a while ago? Its about time NATO gets diverse, Maybe ROK, Japan or some african shitter. Why didn't NATO make african, asian, and latin friends?
If they let t*rks in their standards cant be that high
>what could have been
How not into tanks. Looks like Czech attempt at German overengineering.
No, you don't understand.
Not Czech, this upgrade was developed in Slovak city of Martin. The marking on the turret is Slovak coat of arms.
Colombia is not a member, just a "partner state" (i think it is same as Finland, Sweden, Georgia or Ukraine).
NATO means NORTH ATLANTIC treaty organisation, so I don't think some of your suggestion would work.
>German overengineering.
you ameritards use this phrase a lot..... seems natural when you cant come up with superior shit
>just believe what I say, an expert told me
Lol u
I am under impression, that Moderna added shitload of unnecessary stuff, while not addressing main issues of T72M - horrible gun stabilisation, low capacity suspension and ineffective transmission.
Is that ERA light like Kontakt-1 or heavy like Kontakt-5? I would think light.
>just do ur own research man, look it up
Truly the words of someone with an extremely shit argument, never fails.
They’re a partner of NATO, not an official member. And the Turks were let in to be a missile base against the Soviets, kind of like what they did in Cuba.
>Truly the words of someone with an extremely shit argument, never fails.
>Can't think for himself
>Needs the input of others in order to function
>Can only regurgitate what others have said
Truly the epitome of an NPC.
>39562993
Come back when you have a source, you lazy nigger.
Methinks only Russia and Ukraine make the heavy ERA. Which is not necessarily better, as it require a lot more maintenance.
>Which is not necessarily better
It absolutely is better because it significantly hinders both HEAT and APFSDS penetration ability, while light ERA is only good against HEAT.
>as it require a lot more maintenance
No, it does not.
it's a very, uh, Russian statement. Bigger =better, no exceltion comrade.
The fuck are you even talking about, dumbass? Light ERA can be big and heavy ERA can be small. It's canned "light" and "heavy" not because of the weight or size, but because of the difference in protection, in the same sense people say "light armour" and "heavy armour". See the light one on the sides and heavy one on the turret of this BMP-3. In this case light ERA is used to prevent damage to the hull, since IFVs are relatively thin. But for tanks heavy ERA absolutely and undoubtedly is better in all instances with no exceptions. There's nothing to argue here. Period.
>And the Turks were let in to be a missile base against the Soviets
More like to keep the Mediterranean closed to the Soviets.
Then why are the polish and turkroaches members? Its just an expansion of western influence. After denying Russia to become member, expanding east and fighting offensive missions in yugoslavia NATO is no credible "defensive alliance". It already became a joke when the french pulled out of the command structure.
>Then why are the polish and turkroaches members
Look at a map one of these days.
>After denying Russia to become member
This never happened.
>expanding east and fighting offensive missions in yugoslavia NATO
>Waaah let us exterminate the croats
Few people are whinier than Serbs
Neither poland nor the saracens are at the north atlantic, either is Italy. Bitching about muh RoK cant join bcuz muh NORTH ATLANTIC is therefore invalid.
wearethemighty.com
There were promisses not to expand east to former warsaw pact members and using a defensive pact to attack in a non beligerent conflict was a paradigm shift.
>Neither poland nor the saracens are at the north atlantic
Are you retarded?
>Post interesting stuff from countries which joined NATO since 1999
This is PT-91. As usual with Polish Army, the superior export model is not in service of Polish Army. Even though it blew T-90, Oplot and chinkshit out of water during trials in Malysia.
With the exception of Poland, all new members of NATO are dead weight, especially the usual Baltic states, who bark the loudest against Russia because they know Poles, Americans, Bongs, and even neutrals like Finns will do the dying for them while they pay little price with their toy armies
Estonians and other Baltic ingrates only shittalk because of Poland's protection, but when Polish jets intercept Russian planes breaching baltic airpsace but baltshits go "pok pok pok lenki fashisty worse than russians"
Also,
>wearethemighty
Slovakia is modernising heavily these years since 10s.
Blackhawks, F16 block 70/72s and a contract for like 80 of these, Slovak version of Patria.
Malaysia- 48 advanced PT-91M PENDEKAR MBT vs Australia- 59 M1A1 (consume too much fuel and too heavy for se asia region) and Singapore - 132 second hand Leopard 2A4 which is inferior in firepower and protection to PT-91.
Anyone not from China or someone who actually knows what they are talking about? As opposed to a kid posting from the basement or a china-shill.
By god that american education. There is that thing called mediterranean and baltic sea, neither of which are the atlanic ocean.
Czechoslovakia was the only country from behind the iron curtain that accepted the Marshall Plan, for which their foreign minister was called to Moscow by Stalin, and later murdered by soviet agents. Also the only country from the Warsaw Pact with experience of being invaded by the organization meant to "protect" it.
Poland got invaded by Red Army not once, not even twice, but three times in a row, so Poles hate Russia with a passion.
Hungary also have costful experience with Soviet tanks rolling over their country and their freedom alike.
And don't even make me start about Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, that got outright annexed into Soviet Union and their elites purged, not unlike the Katyn massacre.
These sovereign countries knew its in their best interest to not end in Russian sphere of influence ever again,
Yeah, French FCS, stabilisation, powerpack and special armor. Keep in mind - turret throwing autoloader is still in place and You need Israeli ammo to achieve extra penetration.
>mediterranean and baltic sea, neither of which are the atlanic ocean
Yes they are, retard.
Oplot beat the PT-91 in trials, it only won because Poles bribed the Muttgaysian Prime Minister
So true...
Estonia actually spends the mandatory 2% on their defense, Still as an ex-Soviet country they can't really afford to defend themselves on their own. They are not Switzerland.
Everyone hates Russians but the majority of the new NATO states are not really up to it except Poland. The Baltic states need to get off their ass and work on their military forces. The Russian Police has more throw weight than the Baltic's. At least spending on military would help the economy.
Doubt.jpg
Ukie and Russian QC sucks big time. And Poland has no monies for bribes
>P*lish QC
Moscow alone has roughly twice the population of the three Baltic nations together. The baltics also don't have any massive oil reserves, and haven't got the same stockpile of USSR laurels to rest on either. Imagine Missouri on its own trying to build up an army from zero in thirty years time, starting out with a completely fucked economy and no military industry of note.
With the exception of Poland and the Czech Republic, pound for pound, the "new" NATO members are closer in quality to Russian units than Western European ones
In general, the mistake should not be made that just because they are Western in political alignment, and receive Western money, they can be considered as good as Westerners.
>39562993
>you’re an NPC for not thinking exactly what my fake sources tell you to think
Not even worth a (you)
>monies
They gave him horses from a stud farm
>We give 2 horses and 3 chickens and you take our tank da?
This is par the course for Southeast Asian shitholes. Malaysia paid for Sukhois with palm oil and Thailand tried to buy their Gripens with frozen chickens.
>Ru$$ian QC
youtu.be
Ukie QC
youtu.be
i think by technicality they are considered part of it
>I shouldn't have to substantiate my own claims.
As gross as Turkey is you can't argue with the strategic nature of its geography.
Amren borther, having a cuckscript military should disqualify you from NATO membership.
>tfw Poland wants F-35 to replace their Sukhois and MiGs
We lost 2 migs and a good pilot last year, can't sustain the old birds forever.
Are these 21's still in active service?
Romanian ones already got replaced by F-16s
Yes but they have a tendency to ocasionaly drop out of the sky for no reason, and we just got some f-16's from israel so they will be phasing them out soon i think
I was kinda hoping for Croatians to get Gripen, but whatever. SAAB really sucks at negotiations.
Ok this has to be a meme at this point.
I love the BMP-3
what model of F-16 is that? I thought only Israeli and Block 60s had CFTs
*laughs in tanks with a functional final drive*
Cry more, yuropoor
F-16C/D-52+ Nielot
OId Heavy ERA can't stop tandem HEAT.
While light ERA like this can stop tandem HEAT.
>Criticising one's education
>Misspelled Atlantic
>Doesn't know that the Atlantic includes the Med and Baltic Seas
wew
Ironically enough, Poles says that Gripen would be better choice.
In addition, thanks to their heavier (15 mm hard steel) front plate, the Kontakt-5 elements are harder to trigger by the precursor charges of tandem warheads, forcing the producers of tandem ATGMs to allocate more mass to precursor charge and, making an MBT more resistant to tandem HEAT warheads, as well.
It is very important to note that while light ERA containers are completely destroyed in the process of detonation, Kontakt-5 sections are not, as their detonation is contained by the outside armor plates. Therefore even after detonation Kontakt-5 sections continue to provide some applique protection.
fofanov.armor.kiev.ua
So you really have to compare an over 30 years old heavy ERA to the newer light one specifically developed to counter tandem warheads to make it look as if light ERA is somehow more viable for tanks? The difference is that light ERA can't stop APFSDS by its very nature regardless of its age, while new heavy ERA is effective against both tandem HEAT and longer APFSDS. Light ERA is perfectly viable for APCs and IFVs. But for tanks heavy ERA will always be better.
>Poles are one person
Aren't they pretty much a hive mind of plumbing and cheap cigarette accessories?
Theres is at least few tigers handlers.
Or so they call themselves.
Whatever it takes to do the job
It sure takes a Pole to do the plumbing job tho.
>Its about time NATO gets diverse
No. It's about time NATO dissolved. Its principle member, the US, has no security challenges that merit committing to the defense of so many other countries. If Europeans want to mismanage their foreign policy, it shouldn't be on America to bail them out. Again.
>someone makes a cool thread about equipment
>ameritards, vatniks and europoors shitpost it to hell
Sad!
Ten years old meme doesn't age well.
Neither do the pipes. Chop-chop.
Seems you are still butthurt for that ol soviet union
Pathetic!
At least my life choices are not determined by the average age of pipelines in European countries.
>life choices
>russia
Poverty, abortion, HIV, conscript rape, mob, starvation, environmental pollution
A lot of choices, but the reasonable one should be moving to China.
But wait a lilttle bit longer and China will move into You.
Life choices in Poland include: plumbing, plumbing studies and plumbing accessories.
NATO was originally formed with the USSR in mind. Turkey was at a crucial strategic location that could cut the Russians off from the Mediterranean, which is why they were given membership early on and it's worth noting they have the second largest military in NATO right now. The term "3rd world country" originated during this time period and applied to literally almost all of Asia and all of Latin America and all of Africa during the early part of the cold war.
>30 tanks in service (barely a battalion)
Why even bother.
Can Poland fix India?
India is like the final boss for Poland: if India wins the mastery of plumbing will be forgotten in the entire world and if Poland wins everyone's pipes get repaired. This epic clash will be sung in legends.
