Are Oakley boots Jow Forums approved? These appear to be more for urban streets than for woodland/arid/amphibious firefights or patrols.

They're for hoodrich niggers where the only assault is domestic or on another trap house. Don't be a nigger.

I can't take any boot seriously if the sole isn't stitched as well as glued but I'm a boot snob.

Those aren't boots.

That stock looks like shit.

Those aren't boots. They're sneakers with long ankles. There's no way those soles wouldn't strip right off after a long hike.

based

I had a pair of tan ones for roughly a year and a half to two years. I liked them, they were light, comfy, would dry out after walking through water pretty quickly. I’d recommend

I wear them daily because they’re light as sneakers but when I go for a ruck or to the field I wear belleville’s.

>light as

They look similar to Adidas GSG9s, maybe a little less conspicuous. My experience with the GSG9s has been pretty positive, but they're definitely meant for urban areas. The soles are soft and grippy as hell but if you wore them every day in the bush they'd wear through in a couple months, I'm sure. Still, light and way more comfy than typical combat/patrol/hiking boots.

You havent tried good boots then

"Typical" does not mean "exceptional", hth

I wear these, come at me bro.

Unironically these.
Best boot I have ever had after break-in.
Better than any Belleville or Danners I was issued.

Besides rocky's what brand is stitched on?

What about military boots

Pretty much everyone bought similar boots for camp duty during deployment, fairly unreasonable to wear a thick heavy boot in hot as fuck weather when you're not carrying heavy loads.

I used salomon speed assaults during my entire deployment.

>salomon
I used to wear salomon for running but they gave me blisters just walking in them... they're narrow as fuck.

fuck if i know. i always go durability, comfort, value, form, in that order.
anyways heres those same boots after a solid 4 months innawoods trail labor.
>never cleaned, would sometimes throw baking soda in them and let them dry

>not buying Danners

I wore something similar to wear during combat pr and for rucks. They are very light and comfortable and light but not very sturdy. I wore them only occasionally and they fell apart a year and a half in. I bought another pair afterwards. They may not be made great but I'll take that over shin splints and blisters on my feet.

If not for daily use I strongly reccomend.

That'll teach me to proofread

Most that are worth anything really. Corcoran, a lot of Danners, a lot of Bellevilles, anything with a Sierra sole really. That said, I'm pretty sure the current issued Altama's aren't stitched but they're durable as hell. I was just unlucky and issued 2 pairs that were a size too big, and that made them basically unusable because of how fuckhuge the soles are. Twisted my ankles a lot in basic until I grabbed a pair of Belleville 302's (or 320s, can't remember the number for sure).

Long story short, the Oakley's are for office work in my eyes, I only wear my Corcorans now.

oakley anything is chink garbage

Once I found them, Altamas were the only boots I wore as a crayon-eater.

They're Doakley, neighborino!

Actually they look like Chink tennis shoes with ankle lacing. $150 is probably 350% of their worth. Get some Oboz if you want comfortable boots.

Oakley is shit. If you want boots, I have owned and abused boots/shoes from the following brands: Asolo, Salomon, La Sportiva, Danner, Five Ten, Mammut, Keen and Adidas. The only brands that I have owned an outdoor shoe from that I would not recommend are Salomon, Keen and Mammut. The best shoes I've owned are La Sportiva and Asolo. I put about 50-80 miles a month on a pair of shoes, only including outdoor activity. Danners are overpriced, but will last through a lot of shit. Five Ten has the best sole ever, which is Stealth Rubber. Mammut and Salomon literally fall apart starting from the sole. Keen are alright for the price, but are not high performance. Adidas are probably the most comfortable shoes/boots, but continental soles are only alright. Asolo and La Sportiva might actually be bullet proof, they will last the longest of any of the brands I've mentioned, and are incredibly comfortable. Of course everything depends on the model of shoe you purchase, but I have owned a couple shoes from the brands I've listed here, so I feel comfortable evaluating the build quality of them.

Forgot Meindl. They have a fuck metric ton of Jow Forums qualifiable boots.

I use Salomon 4D 2s for edc and Meindls for hiking. My La Sportivas I reserve only for snow and icy climbs, I dont want to wear them out because they are literally the best boots I've had. I'm not too keen on the colors though.

I have a pair of Keens I bought as a cheap winter boot and I like them for that, they're very warm and the most waterproof of any winter boot I've owned. They aren't super tough though, I definitely would not rely on them for heavy wear.

I didnt forget Meindl, I've just never owned them. They do look pretty bomber, I just don't like speaking to things that I have no/little experience with. They do seem really nice though. I will probably never buy a pair, just because it's a big risk due to the price, and I could just get a pair that I trust and have owned.

Yeah, Keen make some good shoes for just casual/slightly intense use. Especially for the price, they're a good shoe. I find them pretty comfy as well.

If anyone's looking for serious cold weather boots on the cheap I can highly recommend COFRA Berings.

I had a pair for about a year and a half (they fell apart at the heel, but I'm active duty and wear boots every day; boots that last two years are rare). They're extremely comfortable but not durable enough for serious field duty.

I stopped wearing Danners because they were incredibly heavy but also because if they got soaked it would take them literally several days to dry. They are nearly indestructible however. I love Rocky boots but I tear through the heels of the soles in about a year.

>they are nearly indestructible
Yeah, but that depends on what you are doing outdoors. I do a lot of canyoneering, which is by far the most destructive activity for your gear, and I've seen canyons eat Danners in less than two months of solid use. The softer textiles that they use are actually kind of weak to friction tears and get caked in sand/dirt very easily. They suck to clean out, and can be a real liability in extended trips. For hiking or mountaineering, they're bomber as fuck though.
