The Indians tried to be cute and slowly annex part of the border regions, the Chinese told them not to do that a few times and when the Indians ignored the warnings, the Chinese dropped a couple thousand troops on their units in the border region, pushing most of the Indians out and encircling and trapping an entire indian division. And then the Chinese just let them walk away because the whole point of it was to send a message and the Indians had gotten the message by then.

I shot a type 97 back to back with a tavor, same ammo, same mags, and the difference was night and day. Type 97 handled a lot worse despite weighing as much, noticeably slower to get back on target for followups. Could feel every component of the action in my shoulder, it was weird. It works and it's cheap but that's about the extent of its good points.

If anything I would expect things to go more poorly now, the upper echelons are profoundly corrupt (for a while promotion pricelists were openly circulating) and the grunts have no meaningful experience and no motivation to do anything beyond the bare minimum to collect a paycheque. They're not expecting to fight and it's not at all clear that they would if the order came down to do so.

No jams, seemed reliable enough, but it was feeding 5.56 and I don't know anything about whatever cartridge it eats back home. Definitely more of a pain in the ass to clean than an AR, though I didn't think it was any worse than the tavor or other bullpups. Seemed like it probably wouldn't do as well with neglect as the tavor but I don't have anything to back that up.

My guess is that it'd strongly depend on the unit on the receiving end. Things have changed a bit under Xi, but the PLA has a lot of the same problems as the CCP more generally- how things work in any given area has more to do with how competent or corrupt the local cadres are than anything else. There are units that would probably evaporate at the first sign of trouble (because leadership would be on planes to Vancouver), there are other units that would probably fight tooth and nail. There was a lot less central control over PLA/PAP units in the west than you might expect, at least. I'm not sure how much that's changed under Xi, I expect he's tried to rein things in a bit. Ten years ago there were PAP units literally fighting in the street with PSB in Xinjiang (who knows over what- probably one commander stepping on another's racket)

No two UN missions are the same and no two nations who contribute troops are the same. Euro Nations and India are notorious for sending shit troops. Algeria, Bangladesh*, Tanzania, South Africa (biased, cuz from RSA), Uruguay and Ghana have a reputation for sending very motivated troops.

All UN missions include the right of self-defense. You imbecile. The limitations the UN has are normally:
