Say what you like about Star Wars, the actual weapons designs are pretty tits. Look at this sexy motherfucker here.
Why is it Star Wars armorers built so much cooler weapons than the ones anyone else and generally avoided the Big Rectangular Blocks everyone else seems to do when they try to design futuristic weapons.
Was it because they based them on real guns or was it the influence of McQuarrie?
It's just a mishmash of parts from different guns with no thought put into it whatsoever. It's stupid and so are you.
Kayden Ross
You're wrong. There's definite themes running through the designs showing a clear vision of the desired aesthetic. You're a troll, but what's worse you're a stupid low effort troll.
Dominic Harris
>There's definite themes running through the designs showing a clear vision of the desired aesthetic.
>dude, lets slap a machine gun flash hider and a rifle scope on the C96 Mauser and call it a blaster lol Pull your head out of your ass, moron.
Bentley Murphy
>the actual weapons designs are pretty tits.
The original stories are cool , but the guns look shit
here's how you slap parts together to make a cool looking space gun
>Future weapons will be large heavy and blocky Boring.
Grayson Thomas
At least the SW weapons had sights.
Landon Myers
I don't really remember but the star wars guns were just surplus owned by whatever the fuck studios in england
The reason they look more realistic and plausible than pulled-out-of-my-ass blocky phaser rifles are because they're literally real guns with extra scopes and shit welded onto them
They're just steam punk ww2 guns
Andrew Cruz
OT Star Wars has a realistic and utilitarian style throughout. Everything that's a machine has to look like a machine, so real guns fit well into the aesthetic. Of course it's cheaper and faster than building custom made props, but it looks like it's more an intentional thing than a cost cutting measure.
Brandon Thomas
Yeah it's a pity Disney Wars came up with shit new designs plus the shitty disneyfied new stormtroopers
Jace Ramirez
The scopes on the original blasters were scopes pulled out of WW2 tanks. They were junk in the 70s, but they're literally historical artifacts now.
Logan Rogers
The worst part was the red guards. They turned them into fucking power rangers.
>inspired by They were literally just demilled surplus guns or rubber copies of them.
Brody Cooper
Lmfao blown tf out
Nathaniel Morgan
Ehhh they literally just cobbled together whatever they had lying around. They're not even consistent between movies in the OT. I'm sure there was some thought put into it but it was more scrounging based than anything.
