In AUS, gun homicide was nearly 1:1 replaced with other methods of
Homicide.

Go compile the data on suicides in the same period and see how many occurred vs how many used guns, you'll notice some other correlations that eliminate this as a valid argument for gun control

Obama launched the largest study on gun violence ever conducted and it concluded that

Guns are literally used at least 1.6x more for self defense than they are for crime, and possibly 10x more for self defense than for crime. And this isn't some NRA backed report, this was the study Obama put into motion surrounded by kids for a photo op. Whoops... no wonder he never talked about it after the results came in.

Amount of firearm suicides vs. amount of suicides was used to determine the amount of households with firearms which is actually quite clever considering firearm surveys simply don't work. All the more reasons not to off yourself with a gun.
