I did it.
It's just a PSA 10.5" upper I got for $170, $15 skinny handguards from bwrownells, and a brownells A1 upper, right now just using a standard lower and shockwave brace. Aimpoint is only because the A1 rear sight is on backorder.
I will probably put the A2 upper I had on it before back on. I personally would really like to build a Colt 607, but the only place I've found repro stocks sells them for $500. As cool as the 607 is, there is a lot of other things I would do with $500 than buy a stock

The top two photos are 607s or clones, the bottom pic is a rather atrocious r*ddit clone. However, whenever I SBR my pistol, I might throw triangle handguards on it and the fiberlite stock. Granted mine will have a proper A1 lower on it.

The original M16A3 delivered to the Navy and Coast Guard was just an FN contract M16A2E3. An M16A2 with full-auto instead or 3rnd-burst
Same handguard as and A2, same upper as an A2.
The Navy's full-auto A3 lowers have in many cases, subsequently been mated to flat top uppers and RIS handguards of the M14A4
Colt had previously marketed their own "M16A3" to foreign customers, which was as shown in the pic. A full-auto M16A2E3 but with a flat-top upper. Overall similar to Diemaco's C7A1
