lets get this shit rolling

I bought some chilean 7.62 because it was cheap without knowing shit about it, what can y'all tell me about it and will it blow up my FAL?

First time I strayed from the ar/ak thing, how'd I do

looks shopped but i know it isnt

is it a PTR or a C308?
You could've gotten a paddle release, but otherwise looks decent. How much?

Ptr and 900

You did good

U fucked up

So, is a .308 M1 with en-bloc clips a Battle Rifle or more like a self-loading rifle?

I know that once I add a box mag it's just a baby M14, but, how would a shuffs mini-G count?

Are you implying you wouldn't want to destroy that ass user? Faggot.

Just bought my FAL and joined the big raifu general club, tell me how I did

Nobody cares

battle rifles are defined as being semi-automatic, and firing a full power rifle cartridge.
Whether they're magazine fed or enbloc fed doesn't matter, the M1 Garand, FN-49, Ljungman/Hakim, SVT-40 etc are all battle rifles

You can never clean your gun because it's always loaded according to da rulez.

fo3 assault rifle vibes. i dig it.

Attached: xeUlApM[1].jpg (640x480, 98K)

Where do I find wood furniture for a ptr91? Does the wood furniture offer any advantages over the regular hand guard besides aesthetics?

I'm a battle boy now. Are m14s allowed here?

Attached: 1031181432~2.jpg (4656x2620, 3.2M)

Fudds just like to claim it isn't because anything new overloads their amygdala with norepinephrine and they don't want their baby annabelle to be compared to modern guns

Depends. That a Century?

Attached: Pingerboi.jpg (3869x2477, 3.98M)

Allowed but we only argue about G3 vs FAL here.
M14 is in a strong turd place though.

Building a fal.
What is the best way to get the bayonet knife(not tube thing) to mount
Do I need a special bayonet lug or muzzle break?
Also what is the best trijicon scope for the scar?

Are PTRs accurate enough to warrant needing a welded rail for optics instead of just sticking with irons or using a detachable mount?
Is the BM59 actually better than the M14 or is it more of an alternative? I know JRA offers both at a similar price.

Has there been news on the Bren 2 lately? I was sort of interested in getting one in .308, or a """pistol""" in 7.62x39.

Imagine being this much of a rule following nerd

Attached: 20171127_191334.jpg (1920x1080, 952K)

Thoughts on the BM59? I want to build one. Are there g3 mag conversions?

Someone on armslist is selling his sa58 for $1,000. He claims it has only been through 3 mags before it became a safe queen.
1. Should I buy it
2. How easy is it to do a barrel swap, it's got a 21 inch barrel and I want to swap it with a 16

Attached: 2-dsasa5816tac-a_1.jpg (575x575, 29K)

I bought a nothing
I'm all set
I'm sorry

Attached: BRBR.jpg (2400x1600, 906K)

Yes, but the irons are excellent so you should just use them anyway.

Where the fuck do i find a good FAL resever?

Same place you get an education

gib PTR. i would treat her right, she'd be my one n only

This gives me a headache

What common parts are liable to break over time for my HK91 that I should reasonably consider getting backup/replacement parts for now before remaining availability dries up?
I love shooting this damn thing too much so I know eventually I'm going to have to replace things.

Attached: IMG_0594 copy.jpg (2448x2448, 1.1M)

Most people overlook the rollers wearing out the trunnion and causing head space issues

the trunnion itself will get fucked, so you just put in thicc rollers to compensate

get a field gauge and cross that bridge when you come to it

Buy the following: a #17 locking piece, +4 rollers, +8 rollers.

The #17 piece and the larger rollers will help close back up the bolt gap as time goes on.

Now, PTR makes parts and guns right up to HK spec, now. So as long as they're around you'll have brand new spare parts you can acquire. I wouldn't worry about spare parts too bad for a while yet, but those few pieces I mentioned will leave you in good shape for the usable life of the gun prior to needing to get a new trunnion.

If you're looking for a blaster, perhaps consider a PTR 91. My HK, despite only costing me $1250, doesn't get shot too much.

Also, what kind of accuracy are you getting out of it?

this is the only thing I hate about the G3 design. the extractor is thick af so it has no problem shooting steel case, but just that the machine will wear itself out and need to be replaced makes me mad. how hard is it to replace a trunnion?

That's the heart of the weapon. So it's a big endeavor. Send it to Ghilliebear at Parabellum Combat Systems when the time comes. He's THE dude in the CONUS for roller locked firearms.

Is it a DSA?
Not very easy, you have to time FAL barrels

Dang, I was hoping it could be done at home with a press and some tools.

>Ghilliebear at Parabellum Combat Systems
Good to know, thanks. mfw he pronounces weapon as 'wheapon' like Mr. Worf.

>cleaning your gun

found the ar fag

Good notice on the rollers, unsurprising it gets overlooked.
>If you're looking for a blaster, perhaps consider a PTR 91
Whilst true, I live in MassiveTwoShits and having something old enough to constitute preban era makes it easier to avoid the headhassle, even if PTR's are legal as long as you don't have too many of the "scary features" on it. But the other reason is following up on this:
>Also, what kind of accuracy are you getting out of it?
Pretty damn accurate. I have a Hendsoldt scope on HK claw mount, and minus my own user error due to stand shooting (I don't bench shoot much) it'll hit right where I want it. I couldn't give a specific MOA or anything, but it's easily nailing out up to 100m without issue. I don't have much further than that on the private property I get to shoot at. Have been considering going to a range but membership in massivetwoshits is fucking aids worthy.

All in all, I'm happy to keep shooting it. I don't think I will wear it that fast but it doesn't hurt to keep those things in mind.
The biggest thing I'm going to be worrying on spare parts is my SPAS12.

.308

*bang* $.50
*bang*bang*bang* $1.50

I'm thinking about building an ar10, 16 inch barrel. I dont want to put a rifle scope on it, but was thinking about a red dot and a 3x magnifier. Is that stupid or no?

>mfw magdumping
Feels good to have one vice you encourage. Rather this than on cars, thots or otherwise.

Now that I have my holy trio (F/A M14, F/A German G3, Britbong L1A1), I’m debating wether a shorty .308 SBR would be a good SHTF choice. Would something like pic related be a keyhole machine like I expect?

Or maybe a shorty Jew FAL setup?

oof, that thing is sex.

how's that bailey's espresso? tasty? better than original?

>not shooting 308 for .30cpr

>how's that bailey's espresso?
I'm a pleb when it comes to alcohol and I mix it in with my coffee so I can't really tell the difference. Once I run out I'll probably switch back to regular Bailey's

Disassembled firearm that is visibly incapable of firing (removed barrel, removed bolt, etc.) should be considered the only exception.

Anyone else like to snuggle with their .30cal?

Attached: 1541096366785497.jpg (1309x2327, 1.56M)

I want an m1a because reasons. I've heard people bitching about springfield's cast receivers, but they're the only brand I really know about. What would you reccomend?

Norinco

Attached: 1541096366266997.jpg (1309x2327, 1.64M)

So what do you guys think of these guys? I rather enjoy their shooting.

youtube.com/watch?v=_R15JqlJ6fo

I'm American

You can get early M305s legally.

neat, but with gun reviews I tend to want more than just shooting if I'm actually looking to buy a gun.

should of kept your distance, if you were lucky after awhile you could have watched her go poopie.

IIRC the receivers are cast up in Canada by a company that also makes aircraft castings, can't remember the name the name though I'll have to look it up. Casting will always be weaker than forging but it's still pretty damn good nowadays. Other common options are LRB arms, James River Armory, and Fulton Armory.

Ah here they are.
alphacasting.com/en/

Post your 4 Rules of Gun Safety Jow Forums!!

1) Guns are extremely dangerous, aka can fire
2) Guns can be safe, aka can not fire
3) Gun safety when not shooting is knowing the state of your gun, mainly can it fire or not
4) Gun safety when shooting is only shooting what you intend to

Or Caution, Relaxation, Awareness, and Accuracy

>Don’t point loaded guns at people
>Chamber check when passing to someone
>Make sure nobody’s downrange
>Generally avoid booze or drugs while shooting

It's a very early DSA on an austrian kit from what I can tell.

easy, treat, never, keep, keep
1. treat every weapon as if it were loaded
2. never point your weapon at anything you do not intend to destroy
3. keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire
4. keep your weapon on safe until ready to fire
However following the true spirit of #1, every gun I have is kept loaded with no round in the chamber unless it's in a safe. Can't fit them all in a safe with the mags in

but it's not in the rules!

lol you either find a LMT or IMBEL or deal with cast receivers. Same boat, i bought a imbel parts kit and now I'm looking into getting an IMBEL receiver, the ones i find are between 300-600. It will be worth it tho user, lets build our fals

Ill be buying a DSA one for my rhodie kit whenever they are back in stock. Ill let /brg/ know when it blows up.

>he cries out as he opens his wallet

Attached: 1527297495277.jpg (816x612, 61K)

1. It's fucking loaded
2. No pointy if no shooty
3. This is my safety meme
4. Get out the way of my bullets or feel their sting

bloop bleep cast gun parts make me feel icky.Good luck user. And if it does go kaboom you could always find a qt 3.14 Jow Forums trap waifu to help sooth your wounds

What optics does /brg/ have? I want to get a red dot so I can feel like pic related but my friend keeps trying to convince me to get a variable zoom scope instead. Thing is I don't plan on shooting past 200 meters and I rarely get to shoot at an outdoor range, I usually shoot indoors

What should I get? Red dot or scope?

Attached: 600px-BHD-M21-2.jpg (600x255, 53K)

I found an FAL receiver CAD file, it looks to have all the traits of an inch patter but because the file is an IGES format, I could not see dimensions when I opened it up in SolidWorks so I do not know how correct it is. You cunts want a copy?

Indoors with a .308?
I don't have a .308 yet but that seems obnoxiously loud for everyone. My 5.56 already feels like a bit much for the small indoor range I have available to me.

steyr pre-ban
FALs are fucking sex

Red dots are fine for 200m. Check out the primary arms 2.5x. it has good enough eye relief that it feels like using a red dot and has the great BDC reticle. Only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have a Chevron reticle. Pic related is there 1-6, amazing optic but big and bulky
Variable zoom makes sense for battle rifles given the round has great potential to 700yds+ but if you don't want it don't buy it. Half of being a fun owner is buying shit you want but definitely don't need

Attached: Webp.net-compress-image (2).jpg (4160x3120, 1.83M)

Update. I went back into the file and figured out how to make it so I can read dimensions off of it now, still don't know if they are correct though. Also realized I can't post it on Jow Forums cause the file type is not supported, friends, how do I share this with the world?

Attached: falrender.jpg (1574x1009, 93K)

Primary Arms 1-6x ACSS
I love it. 1x for the red dot and 6x for the BDC and reaching out to 500+ meters. Just wish I could shoot that far more often.

>He knew he was loaded for action
>He Wanted to destroy dat ass
>His sights wern't true and he wasn't primed to pull the trigger
>She wasn't the target of his desire

Thanks, variable scope was my original choice but I was told that 1x on them isn't true 1x and that it's cheaper to get a red dot if I'm shooting within 200m. I'll look into primary arms. I like how it has a red reticle instead of regular crosshairs

What are the FAL muzzle breaks that take the knife bayonet?

The 1x on the primary arms optics is insanely good, I can shoulder my rifle on 1x and 6x and not have to move my head at all to get good sight picture.

I’m new to FALs. What do most manufacturers do on new FALs to prevent you from dropping full auto bits in?

somebody come look at this

Google drive

Nice, I was thinking about getting an FAL soon.
Was either looking at a Steyr Import or GSI Import.

Attached: 'salt & battle rifles.jpg (4032x2268, 1.55M)

Why does gun have no shadow

Really, just a sear cut, trigger bits and sear ejector block.

Anyone here have an mdr?

Not necessarily, if it works for you and you like it who cares? Just buy good optics.

Can I play? Trying to decide optics for this now, I was thinking an eotech with magnifier.

Attached: rfb and usp.jpg (3831x2873, 3.26M)

SERIOUS QUESTION FOR YOU LARPERS

With a IR Laser mounted like that, do you have to remove the scope to use it? Are they hip firing those things? Otherwise your night vision headset would be banging into the scope.

Extreeeeeeeeme washout
It's there. Zoom in on the hammerhead.

What soup are you making?

I paid $3,900 for the mint steyr this year. I saw a used but not terribly used pre-ban sell for $3,600 with a ton of bids on gunbroker that same week.
It had a scratch through the receiver stamping too. So safe to say a pre-ban will cost you north of $3,500 for a good example.

Attached: IMG_3410.jpg (1620x1080, 564K)

nice collection btw

i'm strangely attracted to that rfb thing.
