I was a regular on Jow Forums for about 3 years until I stopped following world news and Jow Forums altogether in 2016. Now I'm trying to reacquaint myself to the current world political/world news climate. Before I stopped I was really into the Ukraine/Donetsk/Crimea shitshow.
I was hoping to get some insight and perspectives/opinions about the current situation is going nowadays
The Russians appear to be subsidizing things like pensions, food and medical. The region is no longer longer getting access to social and other assistance programs from Ukraine.
No one would support Donetsk if the locals started to go broke or starve.
>The Russians appear to be subsidizing things like pensions, food and medical.
Where can i read into this?
>The region is no longer longer getting access to social and other assistance
Before i stopped reading into the subject the official Ukraine government was never supporting the rebel territory through humanitarian aid. IIRC correctly the Russians were the only ones providing such aid.
>The Ukrainian Justice Minister Pavel Petrenko said in an interview that the pensions would only be paid after Kiev regains control over all the Donetsk and Lugansk regions: “When we are in power there and can ensure that the money gets through to the people.” He added that the alternative would be for pensioners to leave rebel-held areas and apply to the proper social security authority.
At the end of the article they say they started paying pensions in April of last year, but don't show the source of the funds. Ukraine payed pensions and supplied the region when it was clear it was a part of Ukraine, but not after all this separatism mess.
that ariticle does not even accuse of russians subsidizing anything you stated. it just says the ukrainian government isnt paying benefits to people under rebel controlled territiories. it does not mention russians pocketing any assistance
Dominic Parker
We need to be pumping arms into Ukraine. I want to see how our stuff works against Russian "volunteers".
Landon Campbell
who gave the separatists the guns? The food?
Elijah Martinez
They have stashes made during the Soviet time, they have veterans from the Afghan war, they live in farms.
Jordan Anderson
>Before i stopped reading into the subject the official Ukraine government was never supporting the rebel territory
Why you're just a fucking liar as the Ukrainian government was paying the pensions there.
Leo Lopez
>They have stashes made during the Soviet time
Bullshit. No one got guns under communism who was not connected to the authorities
Lucas Torres
>We need to be pumping arms into Ukraine
This. Donetsk is a biker gang governed vatnik thuglife larping as the USSR that needs correcting with a great deal of prejudice. Its Ukrainian clay an so is Crimea. If vatniks want to live in Russia they can fuck off and live there
Luke Gray
My mistake. i confused subsidizing by thinking the definition was taking and not giving
Evan Jones
>Why you're just a fucking liar as the Ukrainian government was paying the pensions there
As i stated in the comment that you conveniently only quoted half of, I was specifically taking about humanitarian aid, not government mandated payments
>DAT RITE BORTHER >FIGHTIN WAR NO MATTA WHERE FO FREEDUM AND DEMOCRAZY >EBRY NATION NEEDS TO BE A MINI USA CLONE COMPLETE WITH A BLACK AND BROWN NO GO ZONE GHETTOS, AND LOCAL GAY PARADES >G*D BLESS THE USA AND OUR GREATEST ALLY ISRAEL
so many quality Slavic genes are being genocided because the E.U and Russia want another vassal state, E.U is def the greater evil here, as they want to suck all the resources out of Ukraine and leave rapefugeesin their place
You're looking to deep into it. The reasoning here is basically just "fuck Russia" Because fuck Russia.
Michael Bell
Nobody cares anymore, both sides have serious trouble finding fighters. 5 kilometer sections of the front are often held by just one squad.
Jaxon Thompson
I figure the decreased intensity in Ukraine is a direct result of Russia getting hit by sanctions and being involved in Syria for the last few years. Their resources are spread thin these days. Pic related illustrates the dearth of fighting age males that resulted from the post-Soviet baby bust.
>he dosen't know that Russia is 89% white if you don't count the finns he posted, Russia is just as white as England except for it has way more of a population
Landon Richardson
And a bastion of morality, too. That's why Russians are immune to HIV and WHO warnings about pandemia are just part of smear campaign.
The vatnik arrives, to defend the honour of the motherland and to prove that sanctions have no effect, so they must be taken off immediately or war will occur.
Russia was first sanctioned in 2014, notice anything in the graph? Just because they are bouncing back now doesn't mean they weren't hurt. Remember, in addition to a lower GDP, they also had to spend more on their military ventures. Double whammy.
Yeah. Russia is fucked in the long term. They don't have enough people (in addition to a public health crisis) to maintain anywhere near their current level of global influence. They are lashing at now, but because they are desperate and waning, not on the rise.
Jacob Morgan
In the past two months OP it has basically stalemated, the DPR shells Mariupol daily but other than that there are no more than three deaths per week. Kind of boring but I wake up and check the combat reports daily on LUAM just in case the situation changes.
Nathaniel Rodriguez
Fucking vatniks won't even leave Masha and the Bear outside brainwash.
Christopher Hughes
>Russia is fucked in the long term. They don't have enough people
Imagine the Rußians snatching Belarus. Bat'ko is aging and the Rußian ambassador at Minsk is known cronie for kremlin cockgoblin.
Justin Scott
That seems like a pretty likely play to me. Russia needs another country worth of... stuff... to keep going. It will have all sorts of political repercussions, I'm sure but I hope the US has no part in it. Russia has no way to threaten core American interests anymore, short of lobbing nukes so I say let the Europeans figure it out for themselves.
Tyler Peterson
>he posts old 90's era meme maps >ignores the fact that the u.s is having it's own aids and opiate crises now
The end of the petrodollar is the biggest meme in the oil industry. It's not going to happen. Despite being a fiat currency, the USD is still the most stable and trusted currency on Earth and used for virtually all international trade and that's how it's going to stay. As shady as the Federal Reserve may be, all the runners up are worse.
Connor Martinez
>Implying I am a Mutt >Implying buttsex isn't the rußian way to contraception >Implying whataboutism gonna save You
>It's not going to happen How long until the US invades Venezuela because they have "proofs" that they are an "imminent threat" and probably have "WMDs" too?
Oh it's this guy, who thinks it's smart to pretend he doesn't know he's being talked about when people say "you" to him. It doesn't make you look smart, it makes you look like a retard.
Brody Phillips
Then why are you the one who's pathetic and retarded enough to try to re-force a meme?
Rußians are not to be disputed with, since they are pawns, not the masters. Disputes with Rußia are to be settled in Beijing, maybe Tel Aviv or London... but in Moscow? Hell no.
>Point is you're defending the argument. The argument that Russia is a shithole butthurt at the West? It's not a point that needs arguing, it's self evident.
No, they got them from storage facilities. In case you forgot, this area was about exactly the military rear of the SU. Also, >Buk >highend functioning SAM-systems Lol.
Jaxon Taylor
No, the point is Russian economy is recovering and for some reason there are people upset about this.
Joshua Cruz
Electronics that has been stored for 30 years without maintanence doesnt just magically work user, high end or not.
Camden Sullivan
Okay, storage facilities at what depots?
Aaron Hernandez
>IIRC correctly the Russians were the only ones providing such aid. Russians are still pushing this meme.
What made you think they were stored completely without maintenance to the point of irreversible damage, that they didn't work at all and that they could not be fixed by the very same people that were storing them?
>Requesting update about a slavic conflict from an amerimutt board
You do know that what they will tell you is skewed to their perspective according to what their fake news has been peddling them, right?
Easton Peterson
Have you seen what a scrapyard the storage facilities in Ukraine looks like? Every time they pull something out it needs a complete overhaul if not rebuild to even move.
Mason Wright
Actually that's a link to a butthurt Ukrainian denying the existence of storages. Here's a better one: amfora.livejournal.com/113362.html
The difference is, in the western world, people are free to post whatever they want, or run whatever newssites they want. In slavistan, you get picked up by Homopolice if you dont follow the totally not skewed official story. So Id rather listen to western media any day of the week.
Carson Murphy
A scrapyard and a storage is not the same thing.
Camden Hernandez
They should repeating the Russian propaganda line they can get from RT!
I know user, but in Ukraine they seem to not know the difference.
Jordan Robinson
Nothing, really. The oligarchy-fueled civil war is rather stale right now and no one gives a shit anymore.
Luis Miller
Not to mention a few amateurs from Bellingcat traced the infamous BUK way back to its' original unit. Not to mention the vatniks cheering over social media about shooting down Ukie troop transport. Not to mention the vatniks hastily made up dozen asinine theories, trying to blame CIA, Martians and Ukie Su-25 through wikipedia editing
Grayson Cox
>needing to post a wikipedia link to prove that there actually is one TV-show isnt owned by Putin
It has been questioned several times by the govt anyway, wich isnt a good sign that you support free press
Adam Gray
Just because they're bad at it doesn't mean they are this bad. This is the tech they considered active, not "reserves" from scrapyards that you saw on those known photos.
I'm not obliged to spoonfeed you tho. >Doesn't count Lol.
Aiden Hughes
Mandic. I am Your father.
Or was it Ali? Or Samir?
Grayson Gutierrez
Appeal to ridicule fallacy. Not an argument. Aside from the odd mistake which is inevitable bellingcat posts surprisingly quality information with well defined sources and evidence. Russians being niggers can offer no counterpoint but retarded fallacies.
No, there is no need to back up your claims if you know they are bullshit. Rusdia has huge problems with free media and if you deny this you are a deluded vatnik
