What does Jow Forums think about the 223 wylde chambering?
What does Jow Forums think about the 223 wylde chambering?
yea its pretty good
nah its pretty bad
maybe its pretty maybe
Meh.
Doubt it makes much of a difference
It's fantastically okay
I give zero fucks. Who even pays attention to the 350 new meme calibers that come out every year?
its a chambering for 5.56/223 not a new round
>.223 Wylde
>new
The only thing new here is you, obviously.
Why would I need another one of those when two perfectly serviceable options already exist?
a 5.56 chamber can already fit .223 winchester. I don't see the point of .223 wylde.
Nigger it’s literally .223/5.56. Its a middle ground between the ever so fucking slight differences in .223 and 5.56 spec chambers
>i dont know shit but ima pretend i know something to feel relevant
Picked one up a while back. BCA was giving them out for free to service members for veterans day.
I haven't really noticed a difference, but there isn't any real long distance shooting around me.
>223 wylde
>new
>if i dont know it, its a meme
The absolute state of Jow Forumschimps
git fucked, google next time
If im ordering a new barrel and they have it in .223 wylde, I'll take it. If not, i dont care much if i just go with 5.56 instead
It does nothing that a plain ass 5.56 chamber can't do.
223Wylde is a chamber I would use for an SPR or a longer range AR. If you just want a 16" or less for plinking or some target shooting, pick up a cheaper 5.56 and call it a day.
>what does Jow Forums think about 223 wylde
I dont
it sounds neat but I can't find any ammo for it. Do you just have to hand load it?
This. You're trading reliability for precision. It's worthwhile for certain applications and inappropriate for others.
except increase accuracy because of less freebore...
I did a build using a .223 Wylde barrel from Criterion and I am extremely pleased. Allegedly .223 Wylde lets you get better accuracy from .223 while safely handling the chamber pressure of 5.56. All I know is that from my experience it shoots both extremely well.
I went with one for my 20".
Seems perfectly fine to me.
Read somewhere that 5.56mm chambering was more reliable. Any truth to this?
I don't see how it could make a rifle any more or less reliable... It's just how far up the throat is...
Well; it DOES shoot 223, AND 556...
Dude, it’s just a chamber spec, it’s not an ammo. You can shoot any 5.56 NATO or .223 ammo in a barrel marked .223 Wylde. It’s designed to be a little tighter than a 5.56 NATO chamber, but not as tight as a .223 Remington chamber.
The only good answer ive seen so far.
It adds a tiny bit more accuracy to a slight marginally larger bullet grain choice.
If you wanna be picky about accuracy between the two
223 why-uld
Doesn't it also work for 5.56?
I have a Black Rain Ordnance stainless Wylde barrel. It shoots consistent .5moa with 69gr Federal Match. Shoots quite a bit better than all my other normal AR barrels.
I stuff whatever I want in my RB Precision built rifle. I have no complaints. It shoots decent with whatever I feed it.
.223 Wylde is a 5.56 chamber with a .223 Rem throat to the lands and grooves.
Basically, this allows longer bullets to be engaged in the lands and grooves once it a round is chambered thus increasing accuracy.
Really fucking difficult concept.
>implying anyone on /k actually shoots
