Measuring 50 meters

best method to measure 50 meters off for sighting in a rifle that doesn’t cost a fancy rangefinder?

Is this a fucking joke? Measure a piece of string and then teeter totter it out to 50m dumbass

The absolute state of people in 2018

Google search a 300' tape measure. I think they are like $30.

Home Depot yardstick for a dollar and use it 50 times end to end. That way, not only have you measured out your range but you've also become a man by using yards rather than girly metres.

50 meters is further than 50 yards though. OP is clearly just stepping up his distance shooting.

Rolling tape measure works well.
Buy the bigger wheel for tall grass and rougher terrain.
Buy stakes and orange surveyor tape and mark off every 100m

Or— christmas and black friday are coming up . A bushnell ARC will do you great.

Yeah, but that's only 25 feet.

>he didn’t run track and field and doesn’t have an innate ability to estimate distances in meters as a result

At this point I can't figure out if this is a bait post or not

Measuring tape and/or string. Are children really this incapable in 2018?

Actually yes

>stepping up his distance shooting.
>50m
LOL OKAY.

literally you can just walk out 50 paces while keeping your stride at 1 meter

A few years ago I put in a feature request for Google to add "as the crow flies" measurements to google maps. If the place you're shooting in has a pair of trees, bushes, or any other noticeable landmarks via satellite, you can measure them in Google maps.
>turn on satellite view
>right click starting point
>select "measure distance"
>right click target landmark
>select "distance to here".

I have a piece of para cord that is specially knotted with increments on it. It works great and serves double as cord if I need it. When you consider that I carry para cord anyways, it's essentially free. It only cost me time to measure it.

Is this a joke?

DeWalt and Milwaukee make pretty good lasers to for measuring distances, best one is made by Omega though, thats the laser they use to measure swimming pools length under FINA regulation.

Google Earth has always had that feature.

Yeah, always since I asked for it.
Fag.

Is this the great achievement of your lifetime?

Came here to post this. Fucking walk it off.

Yes.

>50 meters is further than 50 yards though.

Product of the US education system by any chance?

50 meters is further than 50 yards. What are you getting at?

How is it not, dumbass

Go to a local high school track. The straightaways are 100m. The halfway point is 50m. Set up targets and fire at your leisure.

50 yards = 45.72 meters

You can get laser range finders for like $20 online.

I'm going to steal this pic to impress girls.
Wish me luck.

known target size and use your scope's reticle (if it has MOA/MIL clicks on it, which it really should), or a rangefinder, or a good map with landmarks.

string and paces a shit.

>inb4 i don't have a scope or a rangefinder or a map
Do you have friends with any of those, gaylord?

Bonus points if you do this during school hours.

use the tape measure, and if you can't find one that's 50m, then it's time for you to brush up on your trigonometry and do some surveying like they did in the old fashioned days.

Soh cah toa faggot.

That's how I got my high paying job and super hot wife, best of luck to you brother.

You are literally a fucking retard

Some ones salty that they shoot in yards.
