This game would have been much better if they forced you to beat the various regions linearly (like GTA) as opposed to going with the full open world/chose your path meme. The major issue I had was that the difficulty doesn't increase at all and once you beat your first region (for me it was Faith) you know the next two are going to be piss easy and repetitive. Once I unlocked the attack helicopters and traveled the entire map I had no urge to continue playing.

The major problem was the kidnappings. What the fuck. If someone got drugged that often they'd be brain dead.

And why was everyone so confused by the nuke ending?? All of the fucking boss bunkers are decommissioned missile silos. The Russians wouldn't know which silos in the expansive fields no longer have missiles. Thus the valley is a target

I know it doesn't have the first person shooting or much in the way of guns, but XCOM2: Long War 2 is what I think of when I think of Jow Forums. Hands down greatest tactical game ever created.

It's so fucking good. There's a bunch of mods that make it even better too. Check out JoINrbs for the list of mods he uses as well as watching his playthroughs for pointers in a way. The way he plays is insanely effective, and really helped me understanding the mechanics of Long War 2, because unfortunately the developers do a really shitty job of explaining some pretty important stuff. But it's worth it. There's nothing more edge of your seat than assaulting an alien base with a squad of 10 rolling with full grenades, only to stumble into a pod of 8 then attracting another pod with the gunfire so you're now fighting fucking 16. That and stealthing missions with a single soldier is also so fucking awesome.
Fuck, I need to play it again but I still haven't recovered emotionally from my last defeat. It was going so well :(

Ghost Recon Wildlands is an underrated choice for Jow Forums games. It's one of the few games I can think of where I can dress myself up in 1980s ALICE gear and an M17 gas mask with an M16A1 with M203 and run around the Bolivian wilderness shooting down Special Forces helicopters and cartel members.

yes, Farcry 2 - Bush war simulator is still the BEST of the far cry games, and had it so that 1-2 .308 shots and the opponents were down (and so were you) instead of this bullet sponge shit.

Personally I prefer 4 but 3's damn close.

Got the hype of the jaded non she battlefield players and caused it to go the way of sea of thieves on launch. Except that this time it was early access so I can't be mad.
As for game play, they combined BF4 hc mode, squad, insurgency, Arma, and made it work.
9/10 can't wait for them to iron out the kinks because it's got a lot of potential.
Would be 8/10 but they actually talk to the community and take feedback.

I love it, but not for realistic Jow Forums properties so much as I'm just glad to have a BF style game that isn't CoD with wide open maps and obnoxiously shit ballistics. It's got its own issues, like balancing and optimization. They just don't bother me so much, at least not yet. If in three months, those things haven't been addressed to a noteworthy degree, then I'll be annoyed.

Haven't played it but I read a plot synopsis, I like the little touches the devs included like their flag being above the American flag on the pole. Also the characters not falling into the "right side of history" bullshit that people were reeing about before it released made me smile too for a few reasons. Mostly it was how numale faggot SJWs couldn't figure out why the good guys were so goddamn problematic and nothing perfectly lined up with their manufactured world view. I didn't have to play the game to get enjoyment out of it and I don't want to be disappointed by a bad FarCry game, so that's not going to change.

However the Jow Forumsest game is clearly Jagged Alliance 2.

Fallout New Vegas is the ONLY Jow Forums video game. ANY Far Cry game is for utter casuals, and at no point has anyone involved with its development held a gun, unlike FNV which has the best guns ever put into a video game.

my complaints:

>SMGs you carry like 3, tha fuk
>options were pretty mediocre, i like customizing basically everything in the settings and it just didnt let me
>netcode was shit
>game crashed every 10 minutes in the middle of action
>quick play just drops you in a random game, no way to pick between 32 and 64 without picking a specific map and waiting an eternity for a game
>even if you find a game its not guaranteed to be anywhere near capacity, most of my games were 15v15 even on 64 player servers
>anything under 20v20 was pretty boring
>gun modding was cool but everything acted the same
>no discernible difference between most optics, barrel lengths, etc
>some optics said they were same magnification but definitely different in game
>ZERO communication, even if you typed in chat nobody would respond

I dont doubt it has potential and the gunplay was somewhat fun but the constant bugs and issues along with bland modifications just made for a mediocre experience, hopefully they have to straightened out in a few months but im not super hopeful

I wanted to love that game. The ingredients were all there. But the game was so terrified you'd get bored that it just tossed hostiles of every sort at you every 2-5 minutes, and it made it exhausting. Also, everything was a god damn bullet sponge. If they'd let everything quiet down a bit and make everyone drop from less bullets, they could have had something closer to the original stalker. Some of the weird pagan shit out in Faith's section got creepy, and I wished they'd have pushed further in that direction.

Alternatively, just set the entire thing out in Oregon in the 80s and let me blast a certain cult obsessed with biological warfare with a Colt Commando, some woodland green, a killer 'stauche, and do ot all to Bananarama's Cruel Summer.
