How to get yourself a template
1. Buy some cheap airshit PC
2. Disassemble PC
3. Make your own template by using the pieces from the disassembled Plate carrier

This is how reenactment manufacturers do it, they buy stuff then disassemble it and make their own templates based on them.

Starting with something cheap and easy like a chicom would be a good idea.

Depends on how thick, and what kind of nylon fabric. The type of fiber is different from the type of fabric, you can have everything from sheer, knit nylon stockings to heavy duty ballistic nylon like they use for PCs. For the later, you'll want an industrial machine meant for heavy duty work.
