>President Macron has already warned that Europeans can no longer rely on the US to defend them, and he revived the theme on Tuesday, in response to President Donald Trump's decision to pull out of a 1987 nuclear treaty with Russia, banning medium-range ground-launched missiles.
>"We have to protect ourselves with respect to China, Russia and even the United States of America," he told French radio station Europe 1.
He's right, I'm excited to see how the world turns out in the next 50 years. It will surely be an interesting place.
Thomas Sanders
France is desperate for someone to contribute money to it's nuclear weapons. It can hardly afford them as is, developing a new generation is beyond their reach, so they need to sell the idea as some sort of pan european deterrence.
In reality that money would be better spent by not buying Russian gas.
Julian Price
Globalist faggot
Camden Lee
>I want the entirety of Europe to buy Frogshit hardware and send their troops to protect our Uranium interests in Africa, while couching it as resistance to blumpf
Asher Rogers
A European army would be a clusterfuck. it would essentially be like the UN where countries contribute forces on rotation to approved missions.
The alternative would involve giving the EU government military powers which would be awful due to their lack of accountability or transparency.
NATO already serves the goals of a European army without the need to restrict it to EU members.
France is just trying a power grab because it incorrectly thinks that the UK leaving the EU means it's now the most important military in the area.
Jaxon Wilson
They know who we'd side with in the inevitable "Europe vs. UK" debacle.
The UK continues to have good relations with all EU members. it's the EU government that's the issue. And even then it's all playing out quite respectably. The worst its got is some social media trolling which is to be expected from politicians who disagree with one another.
Chase Fisher
You're probably right
Julian Ward
This would never happen, everyone knows Europe is property of America. France needs to be kept on a tighter leash.
There isn't a single country in the EU that would back a french lead EU army.
Connor White
Who would win in a France vs UK war?
Carter Clark
While I'm not opposed to europe getting its shit together this is obviously just an attempt by Macron to diminish the influence of the anglosphere in europe, what I want is fennoscandinavian defence union t. fingol
Colton Fisher
Why would you trust the swedes after all these years?
Zachary Young
Based as fuck Mutts out of my continent
Mason Thomas
>EU army >for defense
It's sole purpose would be the suppression of dissent.
Anthony Myers
not you.
Austin Fisher
Isn't a large portion of French energy produced domestically with nuclear?
Carter Bell
It's electricity yes. But gas is still the primary form of energy for cooking/heating.
>true European army For what purpose? Not 2 EU countries have the same foreign policy. And the EU is not interested in protecting its outer borders. What then?
Henry Green
The rest is dead as well. Your whole country has been overrun by africans and muslims. there's no way saving it. no amount of military expenditures can save it. while your leaders are scaring you with russian boogeyman, your country got niggerized and now you;ll be a minority in your own country.
>And the EU is not interested in protecting its outer borders. That's what change. Seems like external borders will be controlled by the EU instead of by single countries soon (which makes sense imo)
Cameron Mitchell
>>"We have to protect ourselves with respect to China, Russia and even the United States of America," he told French radio station Europe 1. MUH RUSSIA MIUH CHINA MUH USA! (LOL'd at that one... that's fucking new).
the european elections are coming soon, with everyone and their mom being fed up with lax imigration policies, I think we can expect some proper border controll soon.
not the whole country, the cities, no vialges or small town is affected.
Daniel Lewis
>no vialges or small town is affected. FOR NOW. And does that even matter when your cities will be dead and the GDP will continue falling. How long before the cancer spreads to your small villages too? It's insane to think that cities don't matter.
Asher Nguyen
>Seems like external borders will be controlled by the EU instead of by single countries soon (which makes sense imo) That's a change for the worse. The EU army would fuck Hungary's and Croatia's efforts to keep their border closed. >the european elections are coming soon Yeah but our right wing parties aren't interested in a EU solution, they want to close the borders on their own terms
Andrew Adams
It makes sense since there are no borders inside the EU the EU should control the external borders too. It would be like having every border region of your country have its own border policy Otherwise we would have to end Schengen and nobody wants that
Adrian Foster
lets just hope some coalition will form to counter the pinkos at the parliament, the rest is a national matter.
Ryder Reyes
>no vialges or small town is affected I live in a town of less than 4000 and I'm starting to see niggers a bit more frequently, also hijab'd sandniggers. It's constantly spreading, some neighborhoods have had their population entirely replaced in the space of a decade. And even some leftie politicians are vaguely admitting that there's a problem and that shit will explode down the line. Bottom line is, if you're native French and have no exit plan you better get a gun and stack ammo in the basement for later
Adrian Sullivan
living in the south ? yeah, the rule of thumb would be to avoid anything near the mediteranean sea.
Isaac Morales
I'm 700 km from the sea. Rural town in the east with nothing special to it. In a bigger town 50 km from me, 20 years ago you could not find a single negro even if you actively looked for one. Now they're everywhere. Every year there's more and more places to avoid.
Literally just a scheme to get the last remaining neutrals to officially align with the west without joining NATO. The shit about muh bolan blumpfs is just to sell it to a nervous European public.
Nathaniel Evans
>plastic mag for rifle grenades
Benjamin Carter
fuck france
Lucas Gonzalez
Nah, the frogs are cool. Plus they are one of the few European countries that is still unapologetically imperialistic. This is just Macron taking advantage of the "fuk blumpf" zeitgeist in order to push for his pet project. I dont blame them, you'd have to be an idiot to not take advantage of it.
Speaking as a European this is 100% correct. Same like uprising in former soviet countries or china where they'd have to bus in division from the countryside because local loyalties would prove to dangerous to test.
Blake Martinez
Let me guess, the common language for the army would be french? Nice try frogs. There is really no need for an EU army, just stock up on nuclear weapons in case Vladimir wants to revive the USSR. A joint EU nuclear weapons program to share the cost and the warheads nicely spread across all member countries with a mix of ICBMs and SLBMs for delivery.
Tyler Diaz
>But gas is still the primary form of energy for cooking/heating. No it's electricity>gas>fuel>wood
Jason Parker
What if they promise to speak arabic only? Would you then be okay with them and offer your sisters and mother for rape while giving them free Euros?
Josiah Phillips
Well if that nigger waits 20 years he’ll look like your average German
Agree, but you’re arguing with a non Am*rican. I’m just like you and come to Jow Forums to fawn over the guns I’ll never ever be allowed to own and seethe when Americans mock me.
Colton Taylor
Obvious French power grab. The US leading NATO works because it's a distant hegemon. This is doomed to fail.
This is bollocks. A proper squaddie would have brew on for when he's done.
Nicholas Thompson
They don't have to pray if there is shit to do. They just do it twice later on or something.
Henry Sullivan
Krokodil wasn't a thing then though.
Juan Harris
>last remaining neutrals to officially align with the west without joining NATO An EU NATO makes a lot of sense, especially to those neutrals. A truly unified EU DoD would make some sense though it would be quite difficult to achieve effectively.
>Just a political speech, legally he has no say about such a thing. Well if he pushes for it, then everyone else who does have a say as to start saying things. It's not like the president of the 2nd largest post-bresxit EU economy doesn't have some influence. If he and Merkel decide that they want something to happen in Europe badly enough, it's probably going to happen.
>suppression of dissent It could arguably be the opposite. The EU already has a bill of rights that member states are expected to honour. If they violate that then atm, all they can do is kick them out. Putting French troops in Estonia to prevent protestors being massacred could actually be a thing.
However, I think they'd actually end up with a USA-style posse commitus situation where the defence force is prohibited from acting outside formal warfare with an external enemy. They'd have a hard time getting it through the EU parliament otherwise since half of them still don't trust any of the others.
Eli Brooks
I came here to post this same pic.
The interesting question for me is whether a unified European defence force, with the best of whatever each country can provide, could stand up to Russia.
The combined economy is obviously larger, population too (France+Germany is bigger). They're ahead in some tech (probably fighters, definitely all naval) and behind in others (EW and satellites maybe)
Russia is probably also way more experienced in modern warfare though France has BTFO'd iin Mali recently and Italy has proven experience against Indian fishermen.
In the near-peer or maybe actually peer war that EU v Russia, who wins?
Jonathan Thompson
Honestly the EU Army is being set up to prevent member states from leaving and for the eventual civil wars when the natives take justice into their own hands against the migrant invasion.
Europe is on the edge.
Nolan Nguyen
...
Zachary Flores
You're right about retards like but there is a legitimate Jow Forums question about how effective it would be and if it could stand up to Russia.
Hudson Collins
niggers
Hudson Allen
hey great, the EU might start pulling its own weight for a change. t. burger
Aiden Williams
oooh.
Matthew Wright
Russia is a Red Herring.
Turkey is the real threat to europe. They already own Germany.
Anthony Rodriguez
So granny fucking manlet wants to create Goldman-Sachs army to subjugate Europeans.
>It could arguably be the opposite. Extremely unlikely from organization that openly despises democracy. Suppression of rights of European people and enforcement of corporate oligarchy are the only missions EU army would have. >EU parliament Is a sham that pretends to be parliament that doesn't actually function like parliament at all.
>The interesting question for me is whether a unified European defence force It wouldn't be defense force. It would be European dissident suppression force.
Mason Hernandez
Isn’t that the purpose of NATO? To defend Europe from “Russian” aggression. So just keep NATO and contribute more $$ and troops. Basically what trump was asking for all along.
If the EU wasn't composed of socialist faggots importing Arabs to fuck their wives it'd literally be Jow Forums's wet dream.
Andrew Hughes
Yeah, it's sort of what USA was asking for but not necessarily on the terms they would like. A possible outcome might be that NATO would become a European army + USA + some others.
Hunter Morales
I'm pretty sure the way that user worded his post he wasn't just talking about French money, but European money in general.
Joshua Hernandez
>USA-style posse commitus Yknow that's moot right
Kayden Anderson
>Yknow that's moot right The dude was man of the year alright but I think you're giving him too much credit.
Julian Cook
He's right, but it's far too late for Europe.
Charles Ward
Israel.
Joshua Bailey
It only makes sense to have an EU military And everyone thinking it will be used for dissent suppression is just a tinfoil hat retard
This is the illustration of the dumbass eurocrat. All about muh monies, and nothing about "for what purpose". The EU doesn't have a foreign policy. It doesn't need an army.
Alexander Reed
Muh money is a perfect argument imo Why waste money on something that is less efficient?
Evan Morgan
Grandma fucker is pushing this shit and he has agenda. You can easily read it as buy inferior Rafale at higher cost than F-35 or actually good medium transport helicopters are haram, buy NH-90 that might be fully operational couple decades after those were supposed to be. It is pretty thick coming from country that is willing to undermine security of its allies by selling enemies like Russia military equipment.
