I want a gun in .45 ACP and 1911 is pretty slick looking. Don't want anything tacticool or anything like that, I like the classics. Just don't want to get a shit tier one and would prefer something without a huge logo on it.
People say Colt doesn't make good guns anymore but I love my steel frame XSE blued. It's discontinued though...

I'm partial to Springfield, but other good companies are Ruger, Remington, Smith and Wesson,Kimber, Magnum Research doesn't get enough love but are excellently made. What's your price range?
Jace Hall
I think up to $800 max but ideally $500-$600. I wouldn't mind a used one either, I just want one that isn't a piece of shit covered in logos. My main reasons for wanting it are because it shoots .45 ACP but also for it's historical significance.

I hear Kimbers are shit. Is that true or is it just more hearsay?

My semifudd dad thinks climbers are great nut take like 1000 rounds to "break in" because "muh tolerances are so tight" I wanted to kill myself when he said that
Camden Clark
Basically any I just mentioned you can find used for that price. Especially since you want the GI spec.

back before they shit on gun rights I bought a Springfield Mil-Spec. It's great, but now I wish I had gotten something more "high end". not Wilson Combat high end, but something.
James Adams
Jow Forums loves to knock taurus, but they're not bad. If you decide to modify, it's nearly universal to all other 1911 parts. Mine has a ww2 Remington rand trigger, and a rare short spur hammer
Anyone here have experience with the Coonan .357 Magnum 1911?

>Kimber Oh boy
Just get an Rock Island, they also come in double stack if you're into that sorta thing. I bought a Taylor's 1911 which is based on a Rock Island frame, but the rest is hand fitted, honestly it's as nice as a Wilson Combat, but was like $800. RI is still the better deal though
