Looking at getting a pair of these for hunting, I like that there's no batteries and no ear sweat associated. Any experience with them? Competitive options?

Moldex battleplugs, btw
for hunting user?
are you going to be shooting enough to warrant ear pro?
they are great plugs, but when I go hunting I just deal with the noise of the shot for big game
hog on the other hand I used electronic
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
>for hunting
Get electronic muffs, hearing things is important when hunting.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Ear damage is permanent and irreversible.
thanks doctor ill take that under advisement
we are talking about one shot
not a day at the range
It is also cumulative.
One shot is still damage and you don't even notice it.
One impulse of sufficient magnitude is enough to damage your hearing permanently.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
MWWAAAP
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Your fucking retarded, that's how I got tinnitus. One of my ear plugs came halfway undone, and now I have tinnitus in my left ear.
The normal neon industrial ones are shit. The OD ones are the same shit, but more expensive.
Just use foam plugs, and if you want to hear things put a low profile electronic set over the top and crank it right up.
Lol just wash out your ears
It's only because the ear hairs get flattened
Ya ever use a chinese ear wax candle?
Silicone baffled plugs have very high db reduction if you put them in correctly. The open cap seems like a structural flaw to me. I can hear normal speech just fine wearing a pair.
That's why I want these, they have the setting where they close off for impulse noise ie. Gunshots but still allow hearing otherwise. I need them for bird hunting taking 10 or so shots a day with a 12 gauge. I have electronic muffs but they get super uncomfortable after a few hours
That's the whole point they let in some degree of ambient sound but filter impulse noise. If you've never used them you won't be able to tell me how much gunshot they reduce, and speech/ambient they allow.
>ear hairs get flattened
Those hairs are in the inner ear...
I used similar ones when I was in the army, great just remember to close them before you shoot
Actual doctor here; youre defending non compliance with ear protection. You are an idiot, but i will get money for performing ear exam on you
True
True
True, The hairs responsible for noise sense are totally different. They are actually encased in special fluid and seated on a very thin membrane in the inner ear. Loud high output shocks damage this membrane and damage the hair transmission sensibility.
I've used the industrial ones and they're shit. They're not magic, they're probably better than nothing when open but you're talking under 10dB SNR, nowhere near hearing safe. When closed, they're just normal plugs. Closing them is equally or slightly more awkward than just putting in normal plugs.
tl:dr just put normal cheapo plugs in before you take a shot
Are these good for sleeping? blocking out noise and shit?
Good luck sleeping with silicone plugs in.
i do it all the time, but my other ones kinda can't block out noise THAT well.
That's because you have your head on a pillow. Use foam plugs and that problem goes away.
>All these eeeeeeee posters
I didn't feel as strongly about wearing ear pro even for a single shot while hunting until I started to get it. The eeeeeee is worse than the hearing loss. I guess I'm not alone.
Surefire makes a really nice pair for 20$
Ignore all these spergs,
1 shot will only give you the EEEEE for about a day or so the first few times then it stops happening.
Regularly shoot mags of 5.56 without earpro and the eee doesn't really distract me, I allways have a fan running at night anyways.
Pre military I would hunt without ear pro, no EEE seems like it's all lies unless you shoot a shit tin without it.
>non compliance
>implying the usage of earpro is some kind of law
If you want to be a faggot and wear earmuffs innawoods then go right ahead but don't try to push your faggotry onto everyone else.
>I have tinnitus but I sleep with a fan so it's okay.
Literally retarded. Protect your hearing OP, it sucks when it's gone.
the EEEEEE you hear is the sound of your fucking ear DYING you absolute dickhead
>protecting your hearing is gay
uh..
You literally can't even listen to good advice anymore, see how the cumulative effect works?
I actually don't mind the eeee - it's literally nothing
I've had it for years from gunshots and loud as fuck tube amplifiers and drums in enclosed spaces, and many many loud as fuck metal and punk shows.
You guys are a bunch of babbys..
It went a couple years back.
You can't predict shooting your gun when you're the prey unfortunatelly.
Pre that shit show, firing one rnd at a durr didn't do shit, and it never mattered in hindsight.
Enjoy your hearing loss bro. I'll be over here listening to music without a constant ringing in my ear.
>tubes, drums, metal and punk shows
you are the babby
huh?
nah just kidding
I don't have any hearing loss that is discernable. I hear eeee when it's really quiet, but it doesn't bother me at all. Much ado about eeee
Reddit spacing is complimentary.
kek
Those are neat. I've only ever used pic related or cheap single use foam when I forget them, these are great. Never gone hunting with them, I wouldn't keep them in my ears if walking innawoods though. They work well enough for protecting against 45ACP and 5.56.
whatever you square

He meant medical non-compliance. Just so you know, that's what you're doing when the doctor tells you to lose 100 lbs. and you ignore him and eat donuts in the parking lot. It's what happens when you're told to finish a bottle of antibiotics and you only eat 10 because you "feel fine now." You're a stupid troll but at least you learned something today.
You can just get some 3M ones for like 5 bucks.
I hated wearing these when we were issued them. Uncomfortable for extended wear, and didnt really prevent the EEEEEEEE's
moar liek buttleplugs amirite
>1 shot will only give you the EEEEE for about a day or so
Temporary EEEEEE is the swan-song of your hearing range, you'll never hear that particular frequency ever again.
huh?
Interesting, I've never seen dildos quite like these before, they look a little short though
nah its a buttplug for midgets
oh look a doctor on /k
sure bud what ever you say
Vented plugs with electronic ear pro on top is the red pilled ear pro system.
You also hear through your jaw bone/skull
>/k
Get the fuck out of here, Reddit.
You're just as bad as the guys who say shit like:
>a pump shotgun is all you NEEEEED. just rack it and the bad guys go away! that's why i love gun bans and the NFA
>i support gun rights/the second amendment/gun owners BUT
>america instigated ww2. germany/japan/italy dindu nuffin
>china/russia will overtake the US
>i have a dragon dildo
One day we will get a competent mod who will just permaban all you fags.
It's like the user said. That specific frequency that your ear is ringing at? You'll never hear it again. Every time your ears ring after a loud noise - it's you losing another frequency range.

If you play that sine and it's not perfectly flat, you have hearing loss or shitty speakers. I'll let you in on a secret, it's probably a mix of both.
>slight wobble in the high end with a moment of silence in the final second
>professional monitoring cans
WHAT!
Well my speakers are consumer grade speakers, surely not neutral, and cannot recreate the full spectrum undoubtedly, but with the frequencies that can be recreated, what am I listening for? Please explain "perfectly flat".
Are you fucking serious??
If you hear dips or rises in volume it's likely you are finding frequencies you are more or less sensitive to. The tone itself has no change in volume at all. If you had "perfect" hearing and great speakers it would be a boring sine sweep with no volume change at all. But it never is. Somewhere in there it gets quiet, somewhere it gets louder. This is your ears. Some hearing loss is to be expected especially at the top end, but if parts in the middle are silent you are already fucked.
por ejemplo
I THINK HE SAID THERE'S BEER IN A CONVERTIBLE!
Hmm. Thank you for the explanation user.
I didn't notice any uneveness in volume , nor did I find any sections of the sweep to be missing.
Now that I am interested, and bored, I may use a tone generator in Reaper with better monitors at home, in conjunction with a frequency spectrum analyser to see which frequencies I may have damaged from all of my years of reckless abandon with guns and loud music. I would be willing to bet that most would be in the upper midrange (guitars) if I were to notice any at all.
Thanks dude.
I didn't notice anything besides a louder seeming section. I heard it right to the end when the player shut off
Welcome to tinnitus-ville
I had some and used them at work (loading cargo planes) they do a pretty decent job of blocking loud ass sounds and they stay in well too. Mine were plastic but not silicon though and were really fucking uncomfortable, definitely avoid the plastic ones. I imagine silicone would be way better. But for hunting take
advice you going to want to hear decently. they are usually pretty good with battery life.
Poland instigated with danzig massacres
Hair cells in the cochlea aren't hairs, retard.
Punk shows are the cause of most of my hearing loss lmao. Nothing like getting slammed head first into a fuckin half stack cranked to 100%
Linear sound file
>starts low
>increasing in volume/pitch
>sharp dip
>still increasing
>falls entirely silent
>quiet ringing picks back up a few seconds later
rip
For real? I work around heavy equipment, shoot shotguns unprotected at least 50 times a year, and I had no dip or quiet spot. I'm far more cavalier about my hearing than I know I should be
I feel like this alone summarizes Jow Forums pretty well.
It's a fucking earplug thread, jesus christ.
judging by my recent ear test, i got at least another 80 years of shooting before the problem becomes noticable. fucking earlets in this thread
Nice butt plugs. I like that they're already the color of shot so I don't have to wash them as much
House shows are loud as fuck and the sound vibrates off shit really close. I have 24/7 ringing although it isn't always extremely loud/ I don't always notice it over the warehouse sounds at work. Lately it likes to spike in super loud at random intervals though.
meant for: I am very tired.
I don't know the brand but it's basically the same earplug technology that's been around for years. They work ok.
>No info
>No description
>Mediocre review
Well thanks for coming out
>candleing ears
If that doesnt work maybe fresh chickens blood am I right?
>playing the pronoun game for attention
Sage
Because the "eeeeeeee" posters are at best city boy newguns, probably noguns though.
logarithmic was fine but i heard nothing for the last five seconds on the linear, RIP
Sort of reminds me of physics in High School. Teacher had a machine that played from 20hz to 25khz. Everyone else was hearing up until about 22khz while my brother and I stopped at 19-20khz.
Fuck yeah motherfucker. It was a time before stage sound was at a reasonable volume, but really everybody was drunk and nobody gave a fuck anyway.
Punks not dead.
love it haha
so you have the option, EASY option to not damage something that is not only irreversible, but deteriorates as you age.
And you can't be bothered?
I guess this is the same with telling something not to play with a gun vs telling someone not to play with a bandsaw that's on and operating. You will pick up a gun and just fiddle with it because it's just there, not doing anything until it goes off. The bandsaw is loud, moving, and you see the blades moving fast as fuck, you're not going to fuck with it. Same with hearing, most of the time, your hearing will SEEMINGLY come back, but you actually lost range, you just don't notice it.
Punk is for skinny faggots who takes it up the butt prove me wrong
Haha I guess I can't, you win.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
for hunting ,electronic earmuffs GOAT.
I can hear every little nibble & bark scratch from those damn treeniggers 100m away before they get sniped.
God, I must be losing brain cells to be laughing out loud to this shit.
