Air gun general?

Air gun general?

I got some mice to shoot in the barn as well as the house, I'm pretty set on the Crossman American Classic, but should i go .17 or .22?

Show me your bb guns, got anything old and/or unique?

i wish i lived somewhere with a barn

look into 22lr rat shot

id go .22, i got my .22 specifically for mice and rats. its great on mice but kind of marginal on rats, so i think a .17 is probably too low power for anything bigger than a mouse or sparrow

also why you going pump up handgun? youll get more velocity from a longer barrel and its easier to aim. look up a gamo whisper or similar type .22 break barrel nitro piston

FPS is more important that caliber.
That said, go with .22 just in case you want to kill something bigger.

i got sheep too, ive considered rat shot in my .38 snub nose, but i want to shoot this bb gun in the house

this way i can keep it with me and vary the power. springers are too weak, and Co2 and pcp is too much setup, and you cant leave them charged
cool good to know

my dad used to have a break action like that, what kind of fps do they get?

>springers are too weak,

i dont think so, look at the nitro pistons. my break barrel nitro .22 gamo pushes like 700 fps minimum. it goes through both sides of a rat. itll go through both sides of a water bottle filled with water, its definitely good enough for anything smaller than a squirrel

Are these loud? If i had one, could i shoot it in my house wihout the neighboirs calling the cops on me? Australian here

>this way i can keep it with me and vary the power
No
Just no
Heres whats going to happen your going to pump it 1-3 times and while your doing that what ever you are hunting has left the area. And those need 9-10 pumps for enough fps to be useful.
Co2 is equally worthless for fps reasons.

Multi pump guns are great for target practice but worthless if stuff moves.

...

>springers are too weak,

Uh no. They are much more powerful than variable power and co2

Fucking been waiting for a thread to ask for some advice.Need an air rifle .177 cal not over 8J(600ish FPS).300-400$.Pic related is Ruger Air scout, one of my possibile choices

In your price range I'd say Weihrauch HW50S, but it's over your power restriction. Why do you want to cuck yourself though?

They can be. Some break the sound bearer and make a crack but firing them is more of a fwoosh.
This is my pair.

Not wanting to have to report it to police, shit laws, it is then treatead like a firearm and then I would have to wait atleast 6month which is redicilous because I want something to go plink with just for fun and not wanting to go to range all the time >tfw eurocuck

Are you German? Because in Germany all airguns are sold in cucked 7j version. You can also buy an "export" spring at the same time, and put back the gun to its original power, and no one would know.
Anyway, buy Weihrauch. Aside from that and Diana, all other brands of airguns are made in China.

Not German but Slav, been looking around German sites but most of the shit that's there is either .22 or goes over 300m/s , probably gonna end up buying the mentioned ruger ,but around Jow Forums everyone said that ruger is only but a name, especially for airguns

versandhaus-schneider.de/index.php/cPath/40_1678_942_944

Pick any that you like, all in .177, all with a power of 7j.

Obviously Ruger doesn't make any airgun, and neither do any of the real gun brands. They buy generic airguns made in China and put their brand on it, that's why they are all the same.

Thanks for the help

How do I get lethal air pistols?
22 bullet?
30cal bullet???
Is a super small bullet better?

Or do high power rifles only work?

Buy a Weihrauch. Trust a me on this one.
I had a couple of Ws and Dianas and it would always choose a Weihrauch when it comes to springers. There are even better ones like Air Arms but they give you very little more for a great deal more money.
If you are shooting rats any calibre will do. Even a .177 at 5fpe will take out a rat up to 20m. If you look in to airguns hunting you'll see this all the time: "Shot placement is key."

there are better ways to eliminate squeak

Any of you fags shoot PCPs?

Attached: wGEA25a.jpg (3677x1461, 683K)

Anyone know of any good air rifles or pistols that shoot less than 500 fps? Anything higher and you have to get a license (leaf here)

Attached: 1485329947609.jpg (818x604, 97K)

how about you read the posts right above yours?

>Springers are weak
Afraid you have been ill informed, my dude
But go with the .22 American Classic.
The heavier pellets will dwell in the barrel a bit longer and grab a bit more energy. Remeber to practice a lot! Airgun hunting requires perfect shot placement every time.

Naw just springers and a Benjamin 392.
392 is bae.
I might get a PCP in the future. I’ve been thinking about getting a Hatsan Flash, but I’d rather spend PCP bucks on reloading gear or regular guns

Attached: B81E1BBE-217F-4484-B259-EFB6168753BB.jpg (4032x3024, 1.99M)

That broke my heart when someone stole all his minks.
I’m sure it was some PETA type. I hope Washushe tore the thief’s fucking face off.

I have multiple of both in stocked and pistol form. Multiple calibers and barrel lengths.

Both the 1377 and the 1322 are fine guns and one isn’t really better than the other. Now, the inherent differences in caliber are another matter but the guns are mostly the same. In fact, if you buy one, all you need is a barrel/breech assembly from the other caliber and you can convert it in a minute. You can get them online cheaply and even get longer barrels or 20/25 caliber barrels too. There are a lot of custom parts for these guns. You can also adjust the trigger easily.

They have the same amount of recoil more or less. 177 will shoot flatter than 22. This is a huge deal when shooting at range as a 500 fps airgun doesn’t have a lot of horsepower and the drop can be measured in inch/feet. Since shot placement is critical due to the small caliber, this issue is more pronounced. This is why I don’t really consider 177 for anything other than indoor pests unless we are talking 800-1000fps in controlled and low wind conditions. That said, since the projectile has less mass, the wind will push the pellet around more affecting point of impact.

22 retains more energy but drops even more. I like 22 a lot and for the pistol, it would be my choice. The gun really isn’t geared toward long range shooting anyway. You might as well take advantage of a caliber that loses less energy at range and takes a wind drift better. I have made shots at 40y and killed many birds and toads with my 1322 pistol.

If you want to go longer range, you can put on a longer barrel, steel breech with scope rail and the pistol stock from Crosman. Parts are cheap but a used RWS 34 or other break barrel air gun will give you all these features plus the much needed velocity to make longer shots.

My personal go to for airgun hunting is a Diana 34 22, scoped with range finding turret and drop card. RWS domes are master race.

Protip: Don’t shoot BBs as they can damage any rifling.

Attached: 2FCA515D-298C-44B5-97F3-F1DBBF786E73.jpg (480x360, 16K)

Hey Guy,

They make 1377s and 1322s rated for syrup eaters. Then you can go online and buy the parts to make it an outlaw gun.

Do it, buddy.

great answer thanks for the input

Are Crossman copperhead rifles good?
I heard that they're really powerful for ~$80 airguns (~1000 fps in 177) but I'd like to ask if someone had any experience.

>Protip: Don’t shoot BBs as they can damage any rifling.

Does this still apply for someone who just wants to get a $55 dollar Daisy 901 and mess around with? I already have a couple 22LR and larger rifles but I kinda want an airgun now so I can shoot a bit more without worrying about buying ammo or dipping into my reserves. I used to own a Gamo break action pellet rifle years back but I want something a bit less cumbersome and less powerful.

I hunt rats in the barn with my 1377.
10 pumps, predator polymag pellets and headshots only.

Attached: IMG_25.jpg (2016x1512, 2.04M)

>got anything old and/or unique?
I dunno this is kind of neat, looking to sell it though as I'm not really an airgun collector and the Crosman 1875 came out for a Remington shooter. Crosman 1861 Shiloh that shoots .177 pellets.

Attached: U3F9mOx.jpg (3296x2472, 820K)

well that is neat

Use to shoot desert rats with a crossman pump master. It killed them just fine. I imagine a crossman american classic pump pistol would do the same

Attached: 1454047679424.jpg (633x640, 117K)

Yep, if you have an airgun that shoots both pellets and bb’s it is better to stick with pellets a good bit of the time.

Nice shot user!

Picked up beeman rs2 just to monkey with. Have put a couple thousand rws .22 superpoints through it. Maybe put 100 .177 pellets down it. Never thought it would hold up as well as it has. Pleasntly suprised for $140.

Fuck 'em up

youtube.com/watch?v=iDytbqxPvio

WTF is an "Air Gun"? Are yall making this up? Is this something from noguns slave countries or something? Never heard of an "Air Gun". It doesn't use bullets?

LMFAO! This is like that airsoft faggot shit?
Holy fuck I would commit suicide if I was a noguns Eurocuck.

Great guns for killing iguanas, invasive fucks

An air gun is a gun that propels its projectile by use of compressed air. I was specifically thinking of a pellet gun, which is closer to what you think of as a bb gun, when i made this thread as i'm hunting mice. Air guns can push calibers and velocities comparable to center fire rifles. As to why anyone would use them, i can only speak for the U.S. and here, its usually just hobbyist, think like someone who's into black powder. Also air guns are great for teaching kids. Heres a review of a bigger air gun, to give you an idea.

>beeman rs2
it shoots .17 and .22?

this is intriguing, what kind of collateral damage would i get if i go shooting one of these in the barn?

underage/euros/misc noguns pls get the fuck off my board

I'm American and airguns are cool as real guns, fuck off

Some air guns are used for large game hunting, and term air gun includes the ones that use compressed air by either pumping(traditional air guns), by pumping compressed air(PCP's) or spring loaded ones, more common for sport shooting, and most are more than capable of injuring a person and some capable of killing with a well placed shot, and are generally for people who like guns but don't want to go throught the hassle of firearm liscence and the traditional ones are mostly for kids to learn how to handle real firearms down the road

Only because your dad let's you play with your airguns when he's not around

Responses like this always come off as so insecure, why are they like this? Was it Autism?

GAMO WHISPER HERE. LOVE SHOOTING INDOORS. I SHOOT INTO A BLOCK OF SOFT WOOD LENGTHWISE, IT STOPS THE PELLET ABOUT 1.5" INTO THE TARGET.

ok since nobody is going to ask:

how often do you fuck your sheep?

Came to post this
Seems like some supple Suffolks. Slipping a sneaky snek down south sounds soothing. Should you snap any surprise sheep sex snapshots, plz share.

alliteration game strong

never fudged a sheep, they are disgusting creatures, only someone who has never been around them would think this a thing to do. also good eye they are suffolks.

I got an old Daisy power line that does the job. 1000 fps with .177 pellets. Took out a raccoon in the attic with a headshot. he needed a second shot to end his misery, but the first shot put him into that racoon death roll they do.

fpe is more important than fps.

FPS is a meaningless number, if you don't know what pellet was used. If it was an ultralight, 4.7 grain, I wouldn't hold my breath, even if you got 1200 fps.

On the other hand, if you're shooting 16 grain .22 pellets at 175 m/s (don't remember how much that is in fps), you got 12 foot pounds at the muzzle.
Moreover - even if you shoot a .177 pellet at 240 m/s (also 12 foot pounds/16 Joules), then 30 yards downrange, the heavier .22 pellet still carries 20% more energy.

Or you can use H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme (killer pellet, but expensive sonuvabitch) to close the gap a bit between .177 and .22 for hunting in a 16J air rifle (in .22 you need a 25J to get the proper effect from the HE).

Thanks
Took me like 10 fucking minutes

I would kill rabbits in the garden with a Crosman 1377. Shot in the head works fine. It's a interesting air pistol because you can vary the number of pumps for what you are shooting. Pump it up, walk up quietly and zing!

>>Should you snap any surprise sheep sex snapshots, plz share.

Pervey poster please pass on posting pasture porn.

Negative no-fun Nancy need never nitpick nor nag natural needs

I have one of these with a stock, and the longer riffled barrel.
My cheap red ryder legit shoots better

Deburr your transfer port and recrown the barrel

>Pic related is Ruger Air scout, one of my possibile choices
I have one of these, and like it alot. Mine is rated at 1000fps, and certainly will kill rats. It easily penetrates spray paint cans.

No-fun Nancy needs nude natural nubile natives. Neither pasture porn or fornicating flop-ears provide satisfaction.

Back when I shot USPSA I shot air pistol every day. It's a cheap way to work on your front sight focus.

Even dry fire drills- done right- will help.

I have a Webley Tempest, a Daisy 717, and a Predom Lucznik, plus some air rifles as well.

That's the old Beeman Kodiak- right? I've had great luck with those. They aren't as fast as lighter pellets but they really retain energy downrange. and have great penetration. My break-barrel is also a bit quieter with them.

semi auto 30rd mags 600fps

Pasture Pornography positively puts power in pulsating private parts polite people pontificate in public but praise in private

Lmao you pissed off the airsoft crowd

kek

Double kek.

I had to use a thesaurus to find pontificate

I have that air pistol in .22.
Had it 30 yrs now, still working fine.

>>>/retard/

That's kind of sad.

anchutz 8001 masterrace

Meh
I’m not a formally educated person like most of you college folks
I don’t know all the words out there
Atleast I knew what a thesaurus was and how to use one.

>implying college

Like nigga vocabulary drills are a middle-school curriculum

Lets say i only had the time and energy to get 1 airgunn which would be used similar to OP, shooting rats, mice, the occasional crow that comes to eat our eggs, and various rodents. Which one should I get?

Sorry bro
Was never great in school

1322 Shooters Kit with both shoulder stock and pistol grip. Even comes with pellets so you can shoot right out of the box.
amazon.com/dp/B0086PENTK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_hIV5BbJW3MHR1

Is this thing powerful enough for rats/air rats? I guess 10 pumps right?

Yes
Limit yourself to about 12 or 15 yards.
Practice a lot.
There are a ton of cheap or free tunes you can do to the crosman pistols to improve them if that’s your thing, but they are great out of the box.

any maintenance in that time? do you oil it regularly? how do you you store it over long periods?

It's just a remington nitro express, but it sure packs a punch. So far it's also my only weapon with a kill count (some 7 squirrels)

Nice
Any of y’all wanting to get into the PCP game watch Pyramid Air and Aigun Depot for Black Friday sales.
I wouldn’t be suprised if they put the Gen 1 .177 Stormriders in clerance for ~$130. There is a decent PCP hand pump you can get on amazon for $50 and you are set.
You can go now and join their mailing list and get a 10% to use when the time comes

unless you're going with some decent power, how is a sling shot not better?

It's like comparing bows and crossbows.
Slingshot is faster, but takes skill to be accurate.
Airguns are slower but are more stable so it's easier to be accurate.

Not better, not worse. Just different.

I've got one of these myself, It'll kill the shit out of rats that's for sure.

I have pic related, Is it even good for anything besides plinking cans?

Attached: 90133a.jpg (1300x750, 31K)

My slingshot shoots 3/8" steel balls accurately to maybe 50m. To kill something I would need probably top of the line elastic at that range and many people would recommend double bands. That's a pretty far kill for a slingshot. My .22 air rifle is good out to some 70m at least with a solid punch for anything the size the slingshot might hit. You can't scope a slingshot either. They make air rifles that can kill coyotes reliably, ine probably could do the job in a pinch. I dont know if I could put a BB straight through a yoke even with premium slingshot bands and a full draw.
