Who the fuck would pay $2999.99 for a PSL? Sure they were a good deal back when they were $500 but that is just unreal.

I bought one of the new PSL's and it came with a russian made optic for some reason.
Not mad because it's 100x better then the romanian optic on my circa 2008 PSL.
I just want to know who actually thinks a PSL is worth $3000.
>I just want to know who actually thinks a PSL is worth $3000.
Any Brit that watched Bodyguard
God fucking damn.
Yes out of all the com block Romanian small arms I wouldn't get a PSL. Now the Ak-74 they have is sweet.
>not getting an 1P21 optic
Are PSLs even that good or are they just wanted as a cheaper but still uncommon SVD stand-in?
it's a basic ak in 7,62x54r and a scope. it's a pos
Because a time machine is more expensive
Mine’s pretty much a 1in gun with good light ball Russian surplus. That and it’s just a really neat gun all around.
But $3000 is way too much. I’d pay about 1500 max if I didn’t have one yet.
Sweaty Ben strikes again
holy shit baby boomers need to die already.
psl's on gunbroker are fucking 2k or less.
A European. I think Beretta 92's are 2000 Sweden bucks. I know some guy on here was asking for advice and the basic bitch Taurus he wanted was 600 Euros.
Yet somehow people will still buy these
Can someone explain to me, someone who is not a milsurpfag, what exactly fucking happened to your market? Milsurpfags what the actual fuck did you people do to make all of your guns go up 5000% in just a few short years?
This isnt the standard price of these. They can be bought for half this price on Gunbroker. Hes probably riding off the election results on this price
fuck off back to your contaminant board
Neat. And they also used to be like 400-500 bucks a few years ago. I will repeat my question: what the fuck did you people do?
>hating capitalism
hurr gibs me dem rifles fo free sheeeiiitt
Is that want you want, you entitled millennial piece of trash? If people buy it for $3k then that justifies the cost.
>bitching about the boomer meme 4 months later
Which board should he go back to, /tv/?fucking retard.
Nothing you delusional retard, people bought them up after realising they were decent rifles for a good price. Just like milsurp, people either enjoy the historical aspects of it, and rarely does more surplus make it into the US.
PSLs aren't milsurp, they're current production and weren't imported for a bit.
As a collector's item? Maybe in a few more years but that's pushing it. As a shooter? No fucking way. You could build or buy something that would shoot circles around that thing for that price.
Post groups because the absolute fucking best I've ever seen a PSL shoot was 2 MOA with lovingly crafted handloads using Western-made bullets in Lapua brass made by a master reloader.
The off-the-shelf PSL's shooting off-the-shelf PPU """match""" ammo have typically been 2.5-3 MOA guns.
So then explain to me how people are selling $550 nuggets, one of the shittiest, most numerous, most available rifles ever made. The answer is that you people are crazy.
>milsurp dries up as the years go by
>Russian/com-bloc sanctions
>it's always been a seller's market due to no new supply
Economy 101 faggot
>a few years ago
1998 was 20 years ago and they were $650-700 then.
A $550 nugget damn well better be either a snipernugget with provenance, M44, or a swede. A 91,/30 is worth about $300, maybe $350 in all-matching and good shape.
>worth about $300, maybe $350
Still far far more than they're worth to anybody sane.
If you're buying a Mosin for pure performance metrics you're a fucking retard and deserve to be paying $550. Milsurp has historical provenance and even the shittiest Mosin arguably has more character than your modern production M4gery.
I’d sell the rifle for 700 to 800, and with the scope I’d sell it for 900 to 1,000. Covers the costs while still giving me a good mark up price to profit on as a company. This is why PSA guns are so fucking cheap. They’re purposely not making as much money as other gum companies but they’re selling their shit for like half the price.
I would cum buckets if PSA made their own PSL and sold it with a genuine Russian optic for like 600 dollaradoos.
It’s a fucking shit bolt gun made out of shit materials. Get off your high fucking horse you faggot. The only reason why anyone bothers with nugget rifles is because their dirt fucking cheap. That’s it. Fuck your milsurp bullshit.
Not entirely true. I bought a 91/30 I will likely never fire simply to round out my WW2 service rifle collection. It was the last one I needed, by far the cheapest, and by far in the best condition (I was able to find an unissued hex receiver).
There are 2 reasons a person in [current year] buys a nugged.
>memes (this includes the "rampant stupidity/ignorance/retardation" category)
>finishing out a collection
Press F to pay respects:
>$100 91-30
>$200 M44
>$400 VZ58
>$300 VZ52 pistol
>$400 HK94
>$500 import AKs
>$400 Saigas
>$650 Veprs
>$150 handnuggets
>$600 PSL
>$600 M76
>$300 or cheaper SKS that wasn't a Norinco
import model
Did I miss anything?
>furry
PPU match ammo is far from match ammo, the SD is all over the place and it's underloaded.
my psl will shoot a 1in group with 7N1.
>Summer Camp Island
>furry
Disperse at once
I remember back in 2004 buying a 91-30 $60 and getting a case of 800 rounds of Czech ammo from $60 as well.
they should be put in forced labor camps for fucking the future generations so hard
triggered boomer nigger pls go
>2004
I turned 18 in 2009, so I missed the real halcyon days of milsurp. I remember the Shotgun News ads though...
>$60 Mosins
>literally every kind of Mauser ever made, including the Persians
>German P1s for dirt cheap
>Jungle Carbines, in their arsenal wrappers
>"buy" the crate anything
>the endless surp ammo
Please don't hate me, I was still a kid then.
i can't wait for boomers like you to reap what they sow once their pension gibs run out and their is no industry because they moved all the jobs overseas to save a few bucks
>usa made trunnions in 54r
do you like shrapnel?
>tfw ‘99
It hurts anons.
classic auctions their mosins now and they all sell for like $500+
I thought century arms dropped the price down to 1900?
I'm not trying to rub it in, but seriously, even though we all knew the supply would dry up it still makes us mad. Lest we also forget:
>7.62x54r surp
>5.45x39
>chinese 7.62x39
>7.62 Tokarev
>8mm Mauser for D A Y S
>.303 from all corners of the world
>the odd .30 M1-Ball for Garandbros
>every now and then there'd be some weird old rifle some country sold off by the pallet; eg. Swede Mausers, Swiss K31's
I feel for you because your peers have no idea what it's like to have a hobby like ours, and they'll destroy what little is left if given the chance.
When did Classic go full (((investments)))?
>hurr durr too expensive!
>hurrrrrr you used to be able to buy full auto m16s for $200
>m16s ar
>hurr if you pay more than $20 for a pistol you're stoopid!
grow up, you can't afford it anyway yet it's still triggering you
>collectors item
It had a chance of being that a few years back and was nowhere close to it. People bought it so they can get something as close to a dragunov as they can get, but $3000 is pretine dragunov money, not the repo version.
i hope you have a severe kidney stone attack
>costs twice as much as a Vepr 7.62x54r
This is an actual military rifle, the vepr is a single stack sporter.
A actual SVD will run you about 8k for a NDM, or 20k+ for a real russian one.
Tigr sporters are not SVD's, the receivers are not SVD, and parts are not interchangable.
the vepr dosen't come apart with 54r heavy ball either, also it's a modern production rifle from russia, the psl is a drunken 80's romanian creation
i would rather have a tigr than a psl for sure though
Technically the WASR-10 is also an actual military rifle, but that doesn't mean it's necessarily better than a Vepr or Saiga. I could just as easily say that Veprs are military RPKs that have been converted into sporters. Not saying the WASR or PSL are bad, but look at the value you're getting for the money.
neither does the PSL, it's fuddlore with zero evidence.
come on sweaty ben give up
theakforum.net
wasrs are great, but honestly psl's are kinda shitty
Again, post groups faget. Because literally nobody believes you.
>links a thread discussing said fuddlore with zero evidence.
Nice going, try finding me some actual evidence.
>TFW I bought my first Mosin and a crate of 880 rounds for less than $150; at a gun show no less.
I don't give a shit what you think lol.
Its simple. Supply was cut off demand stayed the same.
Keep your paws of my L, it's going really swell, chop chop chop with yo block, keep your hands of my L, P.S.L cant ya really tell.
Keep your hands of my L.
ITT: poorfag tears
>someone who spends money wisely is a poorfag
thinking like this is how you become/why you are a poorfag
>he still thinks guns are expensive
Oh you sweet summer child
>ounces dont equal pounds
this is a bloo hoo board, be careful out here
>spending money makes you poor
PSL was a shitbox that shot garbage ammo at $650... buying one at anything more that that just proves you are retarded, not wealthy...
Collectors would
Shooters wouldn't
It's just a gun dude lmao they are all shitboxes
I paid $90 for my first M44, $105 for my first 91/30.
I remember 440rd spam cans of 54r for $40. Nagant revolves for $80. 5.45 used to be 10cpr or less.
I bought a Tantal from a distributor for $450 shipped. I bought an AMD 65 From a distributor for $450 shipped. I bought a Galil/Golani for $500 OTD, and paid $9 for magazines. I should've bought a PSL for $500. I should've bought a VZ58 for $400.
It's never going to be as good as it was.
If someone can translate that into Latinic or Romanian, I'll carve it into the stock on my WASR.
I dont understand the need for all these fancy AR and AK57 whatevers. All you need is a good shotgun and a good hunting rifle. Maybe a good revolver too.
Isn't this an AK rifle in 54R with longer barrel and marksman stock?
Could you not build it from parts for way less?
Just so you know, they were about $600-$800 in 2012 and nobody fucking wanted them because they were inaccurate pieces of shit and are just visually like the SVD but in reality are more like RPK's in 54r. Back then the surplus 54r was plentiful and dirt cheap so it was sort of a deal.
Fast forward to now, when the ammo is no longer cheap surplus but is commercial shit at .308 prices and the same gun goes for 5x more. Anyone who buys these now needs to do some seriois self reflection.
>be 18 year old calicuck
>go to gun show
>nothing of value for sale, mosins are $400
>that's it
still bothers me
fuck this gay state, no fun allowed is enshrined in law here.
Yeah man just like clang some scrap metals together. It totally works like in rust bro
to be fair these new imports look a lot nicer than the older ones. Not $3000 nice but still
"Nu va mai fi niciodată aşa de bine cum a fost"
There you go.
A PSL is a PSL
I have no regrets not buying one. I DO regret not getting an m76 in 8mm though.
>using com block optics
Enjoy cataracts.
Same with camera lenses and binoculars, Soviets and East Germans used all kind of nasty materials like thorium to get better optical performance.
inb4 but the radiation is so weak that even your skin stops it. Yes but an eye is a different thing.
Based
The same people who justify buying Mosins for 300-600 dollars.
No he just has disposable income unlike you
>containment board
>boomer meme
The boomer rears its head
>Latinic
oh, Murrica
also, this is correct
At first it was just pnv-57s but now it's all optics? Do you realize how retarded you sound? Do you know anything about radiation? Kys desu senpai
>came with a russian made optic for some reason.
>Not mad because it's 100x better then the romanian optic on my circa 2008 PSL.
If it's a posp scope, that'd be less desirable to me vs getting a real romanian scope matching the rifle.
I've had 2 posps, one is inferior to my romanian scope and I gave it to a buddy after replacing it with a romanian, the other was an 8x42 that was good for a short while, but made me think my psl was suddenly inaccurate for like 6mo while the lens slowly came loose over time, giving me weird points of impact more and more as time went on.
Once changing back, I had the world's easiest sight-in that was close to cutting out a 1inch-ish hole in my target.
Not really. No parts afaik interchange. Even the reciever is different, being longer. The Vepr is closer to a straight conversation. It uses a normal AK reciever size (though it is the RPK version). The PSL and Vepr are both "just" 54r AK's, in that the fundamental design principles are the same. But that doesn't mean you can make one from an AK other than in the "Thesius's ship" sense.
Fucking nice
3 to 5 MOA gun.
>Who the fuck would pay $2999.99 for a PSL?
Zoomers with neetbux who want that really cool looking sniper rifle from their favorite vidya game
Lol what the fuck are on about? Russian guns guns are cheap here, for example saiga ak's and tigrs cost around 1K new. I've seen real dragunovs go for around 3K
>not even one of the new ones
I opened this email and spit my bourbon all over my computer. Some promo.
