The bolt on an AR-15 locks into the barrel extension you retards. That's one of the main points of the design that make it as cheap to produce as it is, otherwise you'd be stuck needing to machine the upper out of steel and harden it like on an SKS or FAL. Polymer and carbon fiber AR-15 uppers have existed for a while now because of this.

I see no point in 3d printed weapons there impractical and unreliable. Just a few rounds will break the upper receiver. But that really depends on the printing material you use even then its still going to be a piece of shit.
