Automatically calculated by the site's USPS calculator, but it's not anymore than $5 usually. I'm actually going to set a flat rate for basic shipping with not tracking to a few of my favored foreign countries since the shipping fee I pay with my local carrier is a lot less than the USPS given rate. Yes it send me round in circles that damn site. I think you have to complete the order once you've been through PayPal iirc. I'm was on Firefox too. Never made the order the first time I wanted patches from him as I gave up from exhaustion. When I heard he was closing it still took about half an hour to get it sorted. Made me very tense that day too but I got it done eventually.
