Why do so many people here collect a bunch of shit guns instead of building a couple of decked out good guns with nice optics and NV setups? Is it because of poverty? Inability to save money?
I see guys with a collection of like 10 shit sticks who could just buy like a couple of BCM/LMT/LWRC and just deck it out with a nice optics.
It is like instead of buying a Porsche 911 GT3, you decide to buy 20 used Honda civics instead, what is the fucking point, you can only drive one car at a time, you can only use one gun at a time
Why didn't you buy some proper magpuls instead of wrapping your mag in that raggedy-ass 100 mile an hour tape?
William Cooper
Fucking hoarder, enjoy taken out by Jamal at night cause you cheaper out on NV to buy another sks or some useless shit
Angel Cook
Some people collect a certain type of gun that happens to be cheap, but yeah the overwhelming majority simply have poor impulse control and cheap guns are all they can ever manage. Or they dont give a shit about NODs, but that's irrelevant suppose when said NVG money could be spent on a gun of equal value.
Matthew Bailey
>dogshit aimpoint mount >quadrail >magnifier >A2 birdcage
I don’t get it, in the collections thread I see guys who have like 4-5 shotguns, sell it all and get a benelli m4. Why do people choose quantity over quality, especially if it’s soemthing you intend to depend your life on
Jason Wilson
But your "decking out" is the literal equilevant of a riced Honda Civic.
Oliver Reyes
Not everyone is focused in performance, user. Some people like to collect for collection's sake, and that's fine. Most have at least one firearm in that collection that's the one they can depend on if their life depended on it. It's all about finding your niche in any given hobby. And yeah, firearms can be more than a hobby, but they're still tools, different purposes and all that.
Personally? I'm building and getting firearms and accessories that I want now, and keeping my collection small, but perfectly suited for my tastes. But that is because I like to tinker, not collect.
Newsflash most people shoot for fun not to prepare for the day of the rope. They aren't even considering the most effective setup to remove zogbots and nonwhites.
Angel Sanders
20 used Honda civics retain a ton of value. The Porsche plummets in value. Just like ar15s now and whatever nvg you bought might become obsolite at any time. I agree that a couple of kitted out rifles, nv, and gear is more fun than a bunch of junk, not really collectable guns though so I understand the desire.
Wrong, the top and low end retain their value, the mid end depreciates the most. KACs are still insanely expensive in the secondary market, just like Porsche 911 GTs
Dominic Gomez
>you can only use one gun at a time
Yeah, if you’re a little gay boy
Sebastian Mitchell
Smart idea with the mirror
Kevin Evans
>you can only use one gun at a time The fuck I can't faggot
Right let’s see those navy seals training with akimbo mk18s
Robert Reyes
THat looks heavy and I hope you have night vision or that infrared mah lazor beam is fucking stupid.
>large quad rails are overrated is basically what I'm saying
Charles Nelson
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.
>Why do so many people here collect a bunch of shit guns instead of building a couple of decked out good guns with nice optics and NV setups? Is it because of poverty? Inability to save money?
What would be better is to have a quality rifle with >a light >red dot >sling
with the rest of the money being spent on several classes and ammo, mainly an appleseed one for the basics. Night vision is nearly useless for a civilian especially when you do not have any professional training with it. Having a nice SF light with 1,000 loomins is great but why not take a low light fundamental course or have a good bit of training in CQB? There’s plenty of great instructors out there that can teach this kind of stuff.
That being said, yes accumilating guns and then saying you’re a collector isn’t a good idea.
I have a friend who has a tricked out AR15 and a 50BMG. Very nice and expensive guns. You know what he likes to shoot? My milsurps
Elijah Smith

At least put a little effort into making it look like people actually agree with your opinion OP, this just makes you look like you suck even bigger dicks.
Michael Scott
I think you're absolutely right when it comes to ARs and other assault rifles (I know what I said) but buying guns for fun, cool factor, and other non-serious reasons is fine.
Easton Cook
Unrelated, but what's the difference between top tier AR's and basic bitch. I got a used M&P Sport 1 via GunBroker and was wondering if I could just upgrade handguard/barrel/sights and have something good.
Colton Long
I mean if I see someone who has 8 budget ARs then yeah but a milsurp collection is different
Stained this wood myself and with a PK-01 or Obzor this'll be my nicest and most expensive gat, nothing on some of you but it'll be my pride and joy
I'd much rather have 20 civics than a 911 lmao kys
Luke Kelly
from my experience you get tighter fits from higher priced, antiroll out pins on spikes are great. other than that yea. I got a savage arms msr and put a stngr rail on it
Hunter Torres
I agree.. I buy tools the same way.
Nicholas Lewis
are you supposed to hold the knife or hold the grip pod
William Kelly
based brace poster
Kayden Williams
Gud post user you get what’s important and appreciate your rifle. That’s love right there. Also love the triangle folder always wanted one
Henry Torres
Even if shit hit the fan I would rather have my m1 and a 10/22 take down than a Gucci AR but I dont live in a city
Angel Allen
alas/k/a poster here too, fuck the meme of needing a lil pump rifle ill be cuddling nice and close to my sks
Benjamin Jackson
good bait, go back to your containment thread /arg/fag
Andrew Allen
Agreed. Could never understand why people buy 10 shit-tier AR’s instead of a nice one
I see the merits in both arguments actually. As a poorfag student, I want a reliable loadout that does the job, and I can sink some money into for optics and furniture. Once I get the fancy schmancy career I want THEN I can start buying milsurp and shit tier meme guns that I think look cool.
Eli Sanders
She's a beaut buddy. IMO milsurp collectors are actually pretty important. Kind of like archeologists, they preserve the past, only they actively enjoy the relics they collect instead of letting them collect dust in some display case.
Ayden Ward
Well excuse me I like a variety of actions and calibers. I'm not going to make all guns gucci guns. What the fuck do you want me to do with my remington 870 or my marlin 336?
Lincoln Hall
I know what you mean, senpai.
Admittedly I collect digital cameras, but they're only about $50 a piece.
Technical specifications. Devil is in the details sort of thing. Is the BCG chrome lined? Is the barrel chrome lined? What's the twist rate, what's the type of steel the barrel is made out of? How is it made?
The M&P is a good rifle, but at the end of the day, it IS made out of cheaper parts. I doubt you're going to shoot it out, though. It's really solid for the price point, so yeah, make it comfy and shoot the shit out of it. If you DO manage to destroy the barrel and BCG, just swap them out.
Hudson Smith
There are differences but they aren't that major, mostly materials and machining processes. A rifle built by some normie with decent mixed pieces would probably fail before an M&P.
John Phillips
All that wasted cash when you get drone blasted because you're organizing a resistance with military rifles...
>needs a peq15 to bug out Should have spent it on beans and a cabin faggot
Evan Barnes
Political retribution is very different from survival.
Jose Davis
>Porsche GT3 It snows where I live. I'd rather have a small fleet of beat civics that I can part swap.
Grayson Anderson
>Gucci AR Versus >drone strike
Good luck OP
Hudson Evans
They don't understand opportunity cost. What ELSE could I be buying with my money? Training? Range time? Ammo? A better gun? Parts? The list never ends.
IMO if you're serious about shooting as well as those old men who know exactly where their shot is going to go, you will buy one really good rifle and stick with it and never get another one unless for range fun.
>car allegories Fuck off to /o/ and stay there you shitposting faggots. Nothing good ever comes from that board.
Isaac Collins
Because dumping a bunch of money into upgraded parts and accessories is a poor investment. You could pour 5k into some AR and you will never see that money again, it would be worth at most 2k on the used market. You could take that 5k and buy 10 different used guns. Assuming you got them at a fair price your investment will grow over time.
Grayson Fisher
Some people larp (build and collect)
Some people use their guns (hunt)
No more explanation is required
Tyler Harris
Guns are a fucking retarded investment because there is the relatively high possibility of confiscation. >inb4 muh black market muh boat accidents You want to be a criminal go right ahead. I won't cry at your funeral because you knew what you were getting into.
Carter Bennett
Because variety is the spice of life. Looks like you spent all your dime on an antiquated quad rail...
Liam Martinez
There is a higher possibility of a total market crash than there is of a gun confiscation, especially in my state.
It's a fine investment.
Jace Thomas
>Caring about what the state calls illegal
Carter Jenkins
I like your MKIV. Good taste.
Grayson Brown
Collecting guns is cool. Having one or two good guns is practical. I would argue that most true gun enthusiasts have both practical weapons and collection items.
Isaiah Watson
Honestly buying a cheap AR that at least feels OK to you and shooting it out will make you a better marksman than buying a gucci AR.
Gabriel Parker
this is the thing i don't understand. Don't you want to use like a common platform for training consistency. If you have like 10 guns ranging from AKs to bullpups to ARs, how do you get good at anything?
Lucas Green
except people aren't spending money on ammo/training, they aren't spending it on 1-2 good ARs with top tier optics and gieselle triggers, they are spending it on 10 shit sticks.
Carter Johnson
Cuz one larping faggot with one gun is less effective than 10 militiamen with a regular rifle. Better buy more rifles so you can arm your friends in case of an actual conflict rather than being a larping autist with one 5000 dollar gun you baby and never really put to use because 5000 dollars lol
Chase Sanchez
You think your 10 rusty mosins are gonna do better then?
Daniel Ross
You never do. Hell you never have time to shoot them all to become good with all of them. You're not really a shooting enthusiast, you're a gun collector.
There's nothing wrong with that.
Brody Evans
That would work great if you had more than 0 friends, faggot.
>calls OP a larper >hurr I would have a milita of 10 friends with rifles toppest of keks
I think it's just how poor people handle money. Poor people buy a bunch of garbage because they have the money now instead of saving for something that isn't total shit. It's like how they get retardedly high interest loans on a car because they see "$0 Down Payment!" and think they're getting a good deal.
I can understand people who collect old military rifles or classic revolvers or something, but the tards who have like 12 PSA ARs with Holosuns on them? Like wtf lmao
David Fisher
Spend extra money on range time and ammo
John Myers
Honestly the larping faggot would win with a thermal optic and good concealment
Aiden Fisher
I counted all the men and woman in my immediate family, and then my extended family, and then my friends and so I bought enough guns to put into all of their hands because the real deal with survival is about numbers. And a bunch of people with base level semi auto rifles, some ammo carrying rigs, and some cheap handheld radios that let them talk/communicate within a few miles is way more practical than one guy with thousands of dollar rifle that has probably not gotten thousands of dollars worth of practice with it. Also, making 1.5-2k per rifle when democrats start to get full retard with gun legislation
>the year is 2030, the county has descended into civil war and there is chaos everywhere. >I make my way to the local creek to refill somebwater tanks and look for game >suddenly notice an bunch of tents and piles of log on the other side of the river >w/e time to get my water and just go >*CRACK* a bullet hits about 2 feet to my left >wtf they are shooting at me, what assholes >alright let’s do this, go behind cover of a tree and flip up my 3x magnifier. Alright its about 200m, my 50m zero should be fine. The fat neckbeard shows up nice and clear in my Aimpoint t-2 reticle. I can see him squinting through the irons of a nagant. >CRACK, another round hits 3 meters in front of me. >ok, that’s enough out of u. I quickly dump 3 mk262 using my smooth geiselle sd3g trigger on his center mass and he goes down. >CRACK, another round hits 2 feet to my right > that was close, there’s more of them? I quickly scan the tree lines and notice two other long petruding barrels about 50 yards from the first Charlie > couple of burst fire and a reload later the wood is quiet. >I wonder if there is more. The sun is going down and I am losing light fast. I just want the water god dammit. I hug tree lines and go 200 yards away from my initial cover. I unzip my pack get grab the jugs. Suddenly hear boots crunching leaves >fug, I’m exposed in the open here >a fat neckbeards suddenly comes charging out of the bushes with their bayonets affixed. I fip off my magnifier and fire off 3 rounds in under a second and he goes down. Weird, why didn’t he get behind cover, I head over to his compose and pick up his Russian shitstick, noticed the action was fully clogged up by cosmoline and chuckled
