Run
Hike
Camp
Do bodyweight exercises every day
Practice shooting in different positions

Anything particular with the hiking and camping? Also long range or short range shooting.

>Anything particular with the hiking and camping?
Try hiking away from marked paths, using just map + compass + watch for orientation. And camp with things that you'd be able to carry around for miles and days
>Also long range or short range shooting.
Both, or whichever is most suited to the area where you live

Get comfortable with being uncomfortable and learn to do a lot with as little as possible.
For example my typical bugout 3-season sleep gear is two Wal-Mart sleeping bags nested, a milsurp bivy bag, a thermarest foam mattress, and a poncho with some bungee cords. I carry one change of BDU-style overs and two changes of underwear. My cookset is just a jetboil with a spork, and a fire kit if there’s enough dry shit.
Go out and use your kit for a night, then a weekend, then a week, etc. As shit breaks or doesn’t work for you, swap for alternatives that do. Practice making and breaking camp as quickly and effectively as possible. All this will help with day-to-day living, and packing the minimum needed for the weather you expect leaves you more room for food and ammo.

Amazing user thank you! I honestly thought I'd just get a bunch of "fuck off larper" posts.

I love how far this meme got taken

>get and maintain supplies
>stay fit, arguably calisthenics and cardio will be the most useful things to do
>practice shooting your guns with various rounds and distances, as well as irons and a scope/optic
>know your area well
>prepare for any typical weather conditions in said area
>go outside your comfort zone a bit
>don’t piss anyone off and if you can get a GENUINE buddy to rely on, be it a friend or family or whatever
>try to do with as little as possible (in other words ration your stuff) and cut any vices you may have, like alcoholism, drug addiction, etc.
>learn how to maintain your gear and get spare parts if you can, or at the very least a backup
>find a good spot to hunker down or a potential evacuation route
Also remember that gasoline has a shelf life, good way to tell if its gone bad is if it has a sour or stale smell to it. Proper storage can make it last typically somewhere around 3 months. If you plan on storing or using gas, learn how to use fuel stabilizer if you already don’t, it isn’t as hard as it sounds and I’m not exactly a good mechanic.

how bad is it to be caffeine dependent in a situation you are preparing to be combat ready for?

You can take weapons classes for the fighting part, but actual fighting factors far less into being “combat-ready” than ability to survive does.
I assume from addressing militia habits you’re talking about more than just how to survive a mugging. If that is indeed the case, work on general survival skills and resistance to discomfort, and take weapons classes. Also, learn and practice good drills.

Caffeine is something you need to ration yourself on or lose the whole depenacy on as well.

We have every reason to be. Fuck off.

>caffeine dependent
you have a long ways to go annon
also coffee is easily pack-able

Or learn some real useful skills

Airsoft

Name one

different combat styles (unarmed, knife, gun *more than just shooting in "different positions) come to mind strictly speaking of combat.

Foraging/plant knowledge and bushcraft type shit could come in handy too. Maybe you're not subsisting on hunting and gathering but could be nice to know if there's a medicinal plant or something you can make into a tea or something.

Maybe another language or some other sort of communication skill?

There's stuff you could do beyond "be physically fit and active."

Shooting would be much more applicable than knife fighting for combat readiness, camping and hiking would teach you how to use small amounts of supplies and would be closer to war like conditions than Bush craft. A language would be good but which one?

First of all, how is joining a militia social suicide? Who needs to know?

These suggestions are “ok” at best. Fact is even though most of you have a “lone survival” boner if you’re alone in a happening you’re fucking dead.

The most powerful tool is social networking. Don’t be a jack of all trades, make friends with specialists. If you don’t personally know a well educated chemist or have one in your larger social group you’re fucked.

You’ve got to broaden your horizons. Get out of the box. Find out where the closest major deposit of saltpeter is. Identify key strategic locations, businesses that work with the military, NASA, major hardware/software manufacturers, places with key people and equipment to give your faction and edge.

Know who the big players are. Fresh and current Information during a happening is absolutely CRUCIAL. You have to simultaneously avoid major players like the actual military and police, and thier patrol/supply routes, while still advancing, attaining key technology and resources, and making social moves with other factions, while developing your own.

Or you could just run into the woods. Where you’ll inevitably be killed, assimilated or arrested...

Very bad.

brewing & distillation

mushroom farming

the true backbone of a berserker horde is successful partying

Depends on your location. Spanish will be more useful on the southern border and Midwest, French would be more useful up near Canada. Just depends

Ethenol gas yeah, but straight gas will last about a year in a cool dry spot.

it's completely fine

german soldiers were all meth addicts; it's actually kind of great to be able to juice up on command. the hangovers might be inconvenient but that's the tradeoff for being able to pop a go-pill

and you can buy a huge bag of 200mg caffeine pills for a few bucks, or chew beans or even grounds if you need to, so what's the problem

Its social suicide because they are filled with radicals and feds. Literally even being in their presence can be enough to jeopardize your reputation and career. Also you keep thinking of shtf scenarios without thinking of being ready for a draft/rapid defense of homeland scenarios. That's where these suggestions pay off, in most cases being combat ready will help you more that being muh elite specops

Fuck Spanish

>Dependent
Caffeine withdrawal is easy as fuck harden the fuck up user

Pick up a copy of "mushrooms demystified" amd learn how to utilize a food source that most others will pass by. Also useful for making poisons and some medicine.

How is joining a militia social suicide? I've thought about joining a local one.

Any tips on mushroom farming? I always wanted go get into mushroom farming so I could use the seed husks from homebrewing for something

they're small and a bit odd, but if you watch some milita vids on youtube, the ones who are willing to talk to the press like vice seem to be only interested in environment shtf scenarios. I hear they kick people out-right for holding any extreme views.

other than that, I have no idea on how to locate them. I hear they're everywhere, the more serious types, but no idea on how to connect with them.

Are you in shape? Can you run for fifteen minutes without collapsing in a heap? Can you run a sub-6:00 mile? How about in boots? How about with gear? How long does it take you to hump 15km with all your shit? Can you do ten pullups? Twenty?
How well do you shoot? Can you reach out and touch someone a hundred yards away? Five hundred? How well do you shoot when you're stressed out or tired or hungry? Can you take your rifle apart and put it back together in the dark? How about blindfolded? Do you know how to reload your own ammunition? Can you shoot as well with irons as your optic? How well do you do in the rain, in the cold, in the mud Can you snare a rabbit? A squirrel? Do you know the local flora and fauna, and what is safe to eat? Can you prepare it so that it's nourishing but not wasteful? Can you camp undetected? Can you camp without a tent, without a ground pad? How good are you at hand-to-hand combat? Or unarmed? Do you know brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo or taekwondo? Can you sharpen a knife, and then throw it? Make a fire without a flint or a lighter? Do you have dependents? Do people know about your hobby? Would they rat you out, or would they ally with you? Think on this
There's a difference between being 300lbs with an AR and $2000 worth of MOLLE gear being ready for "da zombeez" and being ready to live off the grid and effective in combat.

Hike, camp, and shoot obviously

A big one that a lot of Jow Forums overlooks in favor of more shooting is medical. If you have a NREMT cert you’re good as gold. Even the most basic medical care in an austere environment is something you can trade for protection and supplies. Everyone will want you on their team, even if you’re a massive sperg

I'd love to join a militia if they weren't filled with mall ninja giga-conservatives, fatties, or retards trying to swing their dick around. I think it could be a proper American tradition and keep people in shape. Just some folks shooting, lifting/running, and learning new things.

This is exactly whats wrong with society now. Too much hate and not enough people giving a shit. So you are going to hate what exactly? Hate what a fucking meteor? rising sea levels? a pandemic? Huge solar flare that burns up our power grid and puts us in the dark ages for 10 years? You dimwits need to take all that hate and turn it into something that's going to help you. Nothing wrong with being cautious, but no need to go full blown Neagen just yet.. Now, don't get mad and go shoot up a bar you deranged fucks..

muttern warfare

If you're concerned with "social suicide", you'll die within the first five mins of a SHTF scenario.

>social suicide
How is hanging out with your militia friends social suicide?

>sub 6
try sub 8
>can you shoot as well with your Iorns as you optic
they wouldn’t make optics if people could do this
>how good is your hand to hand
hand to hand isnt useless but so many thing have to go wrong for both you and your opponent to be totally unarmed for hand to hand to work especially taekwando
>really basic stuff you forgot
can you read a map and use a compass
can you navigate in the dark

also keep in mind you don’t have to be super physically fit in a SHTF situation you just have to survive and most of that is logistics It makes it easier if you can move fast but knowing where to move what you need and where others may be is much more useful than super ultra Jow Forumsommando stuff

those are the ones you see on the news. I heard somewhere the low profile, high extremism groups are about 80% ex-military. also heard they have some pretty cool gadgets like armor vehicles

do i look like the backbone of a berserker horde?

militia friends may be better at helping to prevent actual suicide.
Just a hunch.

Sorry I dont want to lose my reputation and my job. Seriously all it takes is a picture taken with some people who turn out to be extreemists.

Imo opinion the most important thing is to make sure you enjoy whatever you're doing to be ready. Don't be forcing yourself to spend hours preparing for a happening that'll probably never come, just make sure your hobbies are in some way useful and you'll become more prepared than 95% of the country. Bonus points if it improves your health or saves you money too. If you can do the same with your career then I'd say your better prepared than 99.9% of the country.

For me that means
>Shooting
>Hunting
>Lifting
>Climbing
>MMA
>Hiking, camping, mountaineering
>Volunteering with mountain rescue
Should be pretty obvious how most of these are either useful in a happening, good for my health or good for my wallet.

I'd especially emphasise the value of volunteering with the right sort of group though. If you have any sort of volunteer search&rescue or emergency response in your area then I'd jump on it. Obviously you'll get a ton of free training and experience with everything from first aid to land navigation to rescue skills, but you'll also gain an understanding of the local bureaucratic response to a disaster and experience organising or coordinating teams in an emergency.
Probably the most valuable part of it all though are the people - anyone volunteering with these groups is gonna be exactly the good, reliable sort of folks you'll want to know when shtf. I might not be a member of any militia but between mountain rescue, climbing and mma I've got enough well-armed, like-minded and trustworthy mates to feel confident defending our local area if we need it.

I've encouraged the same attitude in my fiancee and now she spends her afternoons either on the range/in the gym with me or at home looking after her chickens and brewing cider.

Be sterile, don't overthink it, keep it cheap and work your way up.

mushrooms are kinda badass in the way that they "want" to grow, they'll grow on fuck all anything, you've just got to cultivate brother

Ironically, stuff like pf tek meant for cultivating magic mushrooms ends up being a really good jumping off point for learning to grow regular ones. I know reddit is frowned upon here--with good reason--but places like r/mycology and r/mushroomgrowers might be a good start. Also, Shroomery.

Just, uh, use a VPN and stuff. A good one. A throwaway with an encrypted email service like Tutanota'd be nice, too. All of the stuff they post is -technically- legal, but y'never can be too sure who's listening in on you these days, no?

There will be no "rapid defense of homeland". This brown country will balkanize and break apart.

Join the Coast Guard.

Plant a lemon tree too.

If you do make sure to watch out for those lemon stealing whores.

youtube.com/watch?v=U5mI407Uks4

So I'm fucked sideways. Got it.

Get fit, be a good shot, find your group of friends who you can rely on and they can rely on you, make a plan, stack bodies in that order

Blood and soil not drugs and oil.

Not even a chance stormnigger.

make friends with people with weapons and form an unofficial militia and stock up on food and get used to camping personally ive just been practicing on making IEDs to rig my home and areas around me in case hostile invaders come while i plan my route for escape into canada

Is there a way to start a militia that wont attract neo nazis and feds? I'd love a group whose goal is to be in fighting shape while doing fun things like camping/shooting/hiking, and geeking out on strategy.

t. brown

I'm probably more racially pure than you are chink. Either way you're still a low IQ burden on society

Unironically this.
It's how we turn a bunch of illiterate teenagers into effective infantrymen every year.

participate in community organizations like
>CERT/HAM operator
>EMT/Red cross
>volunteer fire fighting
>volunteer police officer

This unironically gives me a proper excuse to own military items and preps.

Attached: 1540704279263.png (515x431, 284K)

Just to make sure I understand this, you're saying the people you hang out with don't like to do things you enjoy and if you join another group of people who go out and actually do the things you enjoy you are worried the first group of people won't be your friends and you'll have nobody to not do the things you enjoy with?

>I run 3kms 3-4 times a week with the goal of getting faster. I think 3kms is a good distance and doesn't take much time. the idea is to quickly outrun anybody potentially coming after you.

>gun handling stuff and marksmanship

>have preps on your person, at home, your car and stashed away at certain strategically sound places "innawoods."

>grey man/do not let the liberals ever suspect you may not be one of them. stay hidden, bide your time.

Attached: AK ghandalf.jpg (900x600, 124K)

run 5k, better than 3k, remember that 1.6 k is a mile, adding one mile wont hurt and should not take more than 20-30 minutes

>Sorry I dont want to lose my reputation and my job.
>Seriously all it takes is a picture taken with some people who turn out to be extreemists.
Then don't advertise the fact that you are in a militia. Also why would you be taking pictures with them? Are you a 15 year old female npc trying to get clicks on your insta? Keep your work life separate from your personal life.
