What are some soldiers who disobeyed orders for moral reasons and put a stop to those who were following them?

>Thompson: What's going on here, Lieutenant?
>Calley: This is my business.
>Thompson: What is this? Who are these people?
>Calley: Just following orders.
>Thompson: Orders? Whose orders?
>Calley: Just following...
>Thompson: But, these are human beings, unarmed civilians, sir.
>Calley: Look Thompson, this is my show. I'm in charge here. It ain't your concern.
>Thompson: Yeah, great job.
>Calley: You better get back in that chopper and mind your own business.
Literally just following orders argument.
What the fuck america.
In that vietnamese village they where openly aiding the enemy, who would fire from positions occupied by civilians.
faggot alert
That does not justify execution of the village's women, children, and elderly.
>implying the enemy wouldn't terrorize the village into cooperation anyway
You forgot about
>Gets transferred from Leavenworth to house arrest by Richard Nixon
>That does not justify execution of the village's women, children, and elderly.
wrong
Being at war justifies execution of the village’s women, children, and elderly.
>it’s like you don’t want to win
We should’ve never been in ‘Nam in the first place
Sub-20s kids who live in a country that never had their civilian population killed.
It shows, it really does!
That fucking times cover..
By classical definition, the government cannot be the victim of terror as terror is by definition something done by the government.
>Sub-20s kids who live in a country that never had their civilian population killed.
wrong
>abloobloobloo if your country had civilians killed you wouldn’t think that
I’d be pissed at whoever did it, but I wouldn’t care if we did it to someone else. If they aren’t my countrymen I don’t care what we do to them in war.
>Sub-20s kids who live in a country that never had their civilian population killed.
It was US judges who set the precedent that "following orders" is not an acceptable defense and those using it deserve death sentence.
The hallmark of someone living in a false reality is that they think the Vietnam war should've never happened. Vietnam and Korea were perhaps the only noble conflicts of the past few centuries, even though we obviously lost the battles. The war against revolution is a metaphysical war against that which destroys all human existence by infecting the human mind and convincing it that God isn't real, therefore, there is no such thing as truth. I mean, look around you. Revolution is the worst thing to ever happen to mankind.
>comparing vietnam to Korea
fucking lmao son
>oh hey multiple multiple chances to end the vietnam conflict through diplomacy before it becomes a war
>whooopsies!
>If they aren’t my countrymen I don’t care what we do to them in war.

>“If I ever see or hear of you shooting at a man in a parachute,” Roedel said, “I will shoot you down myself. You follow the rules of war for you — not for your enemy. You fight by rules to keep your humanity.”
Yeah you know, would have only meant actively fucking with the French who really are historically one of our best allies.
Why would we not do that jeez
>good soldier
>doesn't follow orders
Pick one. They might have been good people, but not good soldiers.
>tfw the good guys lost ww2
You watch the skies, ill watch the streets
This. If you want to be a bootlicker, enjoy swinging from a rope after your personal Nuremberg.
I wonder what kind and how much drugs they pumped into him to scramble his brain this much.
Are these good soldiers user?
Based and redpilled
A literal cowardly little faggot who should have just played with his dollies and live with his mommy and daddy while the big boys went off to kill some commie scum. What a traitor. He should have been executed for endangering the mission and for being a little faggot go-good. This is why we lost the Vietnam War. Because cowards like him who refuse to follow orders.
Just MkUltra my shit up.
oy vey
no they didnt
>insults real soldiers
>posts edgy manchild anime pic
you could cut the irony with a knife
Edgy, much?
soldiers? yes. Citizens? no.
Underage edgelords
>no they didnt
Really??
>Some USAAF fighter pilots claimed they received unwritten orders from their officers to shoot enemy airmen parachuting over their own territory as they would rejoin their own units upon landing and fly in the air again to kill more Americans.
That's how you prove that the Allies weren't good guys? Not their genocidal strategic bombing campaigns?
If you read up the response chain you'd have noticed that was in response to mention about shooting parachuting pilots and aircrew.
The good guys won the war, Central European murder monkeys got what was coming to them : ^ )
Wasn’t genocidal
Do it again bomber Harris
Hitler should have gassed London. The world would be better off.
Yes they did
All edgelords. I'd tell you fags to enlist but you'd be those weird Jow Forums kids in the platoon that get kicked out in 6 months.
Give me the rundown on this man
i'd explain why the french are bad but you'd probably run away before I finished
an order is an order, user. It's a soldiers duty to obey and follow them to the letter, not to question them or ultimately disobey them for some notion of morality.
I think they got Hamas to design the OKC federal building. Who else puts a daycare in a building where they command the deaths of dozens of civillians
it's not really abnormal
>Good Soldiers not Following Orders
Not according to panel of judges from allied countries. Get rekt noob.
>Hitler should have gassed London.
Weather at 10 am: 50 000 tons of sarin and tabun.
It's perfectly legal for pilots to attempt to shot at parachuting enemy airmen. It's only a war crime if ground crew do it.
>1. No person parachuting from an aircraft in distress shall be made the object of attack during his descent.
Only paratroopers, aircrew and pilots are protected because they're in distress and not doing ground assault with their sidearms.
This. 'Nam was one of our most noble wars. Defending Indochina from communist aggression, that is a hell of a lot more justifiable than our participation in WW1 and WW2.
>muh diplomacy
Pro tip: we did end the war via diplomacy and as expected they betrayed the agreement as soon as doing so was to their advantage. You can't conduct diplomacy with imperialist, they will always find an excuse to wiggle out of it. The only way to solidly win the war was to invade and occupy north vietnam. Even before we got involved the north was sending tens of thousands of insurgents to terrorize the south. They were never going to give up annexing the south and you are a delusional retard if you think otherwise.
>following pajeet felon
why?
I have seen this exact post on /his/ a couple of days ago.
well they used swords, which were sharp, and did have edges, they also fought at a younger majority than the modern era. So underage edgelords it is!
>wanting to reunite your country which was forcibly split in half by frogs is "imperialism"
also
>WWII wasn't justified even though japan attacked the US and germany declared war
Funny, my platoon commander explicitly said it was my job to not carry out illegal orders, and then proceeded to explain when an order is illegal.
Only if you're on the losing side. Otherwise disobeying the order will also end in you swinging from a rope. Enjoy being in a lethal catch 22.
>Vietnam and Korea were perhaps the only noble conflicts of the past few centuries, even though we obviously lost the battles.
>Vietnam
>a noble conflict
It was the dumbest shit ever. France spent all that blood, money, time and prestige on an unprofitable worthless strip of land while losing Metorpolitan French territory that was as French as Paris.
Americans went overseas to shoot Communists while letting them takeover at home and doing nothing about it. FFS, The North Vietnamese would have happily been our allies had we told the French to fuck off. They already WERE.
>not posting strategic bombing campaign
>not posting Soviets raping their way across Europe
>not posting napalm
>not posting retaliatory executions of SS
It's like you aren't even trying, user.
>Yeah you know, would have only meant actively fucking with the French who really are historically one of our best allies
They were completely worthless, and only regained any military relevance through our largesse. Without such, the French would have been completely unable to afford any military action for decades and would have never have developed nuclear weapons.
Thanks to the Clone Wars, I can now say for a fact that the Clones are one of the saddest stories in all of fiction.
Maybe you should read the response chain so you'd know why that specific thing was brought up.
I question this "Vietnam was a noble conflict." Explain yourselves further.
Let’s put you into one of the most brutal, terrifying wars post-ww2 where you watch your friends and comrades get picked off by snipers, have their legs blown off by land mines, stabbed to death by punji traps, and never quite know who your enemy is at 18 years old and see how you do. 100% guarantee you crack like everyone else did and go full revenge mode for what the VC did to you and your buddies.
Not saying it was right what they did but don’t give me “OMG how could they ever commit such actions!?!”.
Think of Vietnam like the Revolutionary War, with the US versus the Brits. But in that comparison, we chose to back the Brits because "communism"
That's not helping me.
I guess my hangup is that Nam was where the government basically told the Pentagon and the CIA, "Hey, we've got a war on here and we're having some trouble with it, so go to town and fuck around with whatever you want." Insurgencies are notoriously messy affairs. It's hard to see nobility on either side, because neither has much time for honor.
>we defeated the wrong enemy
Wow, sorta hurts to know these are the guys that we fought against with the Russians as allies. Wish things had turned out differently so we could have fought the communists together
Blame France
Has been declassified. Never happened.
>What are some soldiers who disobeyed orders for moral reasons and put a stop to those who were following them?
Klaus Hornig, Hornig, a staunch Catholic, actually ended up in a Jewish concentration camp
However, officers such as Hornig were imprisoned, beaten, stripped of rank and prestige and threatened with death for their impertinence. Hornig, a staunch Catholic, actually ended up in a Jewish concentration camp with those he did not kill. Even after the liberation, he suffered at the hands of his fellow prisoners because they suspected him of being a German army spy - although he had hidden French Jews beneath his bed to save their lives.
Hornig escaped a date with death many times during the years following his refusal to carry out the execution of 780 Soviet prisoners of war in November 1941.
"The execution itself was a terrible sight," Kitterman quoted Hornig. "A huge sandy grave filled with half-naked Russian prisoners were killed with Russian machine guns that spattered the soldiers' coats with brains, blood and bone of the dying."
In addition, the soldiers were stabbing the desperate prisoners as they ran to the open grave.
Hornig screamed at them to stop and was consequently accused of being too soft and humane, of inhibiting the execution of orders, inciting mutiny and hostility against the SS.
Refusal to obey orders was listed as just one of his crimes.
But Hornig, unwilling to stay silent as well as stubborn about his refusal to kill the innocent, pointed out that paragraph 47 of the German Military Code allowed soldiers the right to refuse an order recognized as illegal.
He taught men under his command that they did not have to follow orders that went against their moral and legal conscience. He was an embarrassment to the army, and his court-martial was a kangaroo court that dragged on for years.
Orders for his execution were en route to the camp he was held in the day it was liberated.
Hornig lives in Germany today
Josef Schulz also spelled Joseph Schultz (Serbian: Joзeф Шyлц), was a German soldier of the 714th Infantry Division stationed in the Balkans, Serbia during World War II. He died in 1941, allegedly executed after refusing to take part in a partisan execution. The German High Command recorded him as killed in action.
Otto Schimek (May 5, 1925 – November 14, 1944) was an Austrian soldier in the German Wehrmacht during World War II who served as a member of a firing squad. He was himself executed, allegedly for refusing to carry out a death sentence
Two policemen made the mistake of approaching
Captain (and SS-Hauptsturmfiihrer) Wohlauf instead of Kammer.
They pleaded that they too were fathers with children and
could not continue. Wohlauf curtly refused them, indicating that
they could lie down alongside the victims. At the midday pause,
however, Kammer relieved not only these two men but a
number of other older men as well. They were sent back to the
marketplace, accompanied by a noncommissioned officer who
reported to Trapp. Trapp dismissed them from further duty and
permitted them to return early to the harracks in Bilgoraj.
The most dramatic response was again that of
Lieutenant Buchmann, who asked Trapp to have him transferred
back to Hamburg and declared that short of a direct personal
order from Trapp, he would not take part in Jewish actions. In
the end he wrote to Hamburg, explicitly requesting a recall
because he was not "suited" to certain tasks "alien to the police"
that were being carried out by his unit in Poland. 18 Buchmann
had to wait until November, but his efforts to be transferred
were ultimately successful
F
But Arthur
Rohrbaugh* could not shoot defenseless people. "It was also
known to Lieutenant Hoppner that I could not do it. He had
already told me on earlier occasions that I must become tougher.
In this sense he once said that I too would yet learn the neck
shot." On patrol in the woods with Corporal Heiden* and five
other policemen, Rohrbaugh encountered three Jewish women
and a child. Heiden ordered his men to shoot the Jews, but
Rohrbaugh simply walked away. Heiden grabbed his gun and
shot the Jews himself. Rohrbaugh credited Trapp for his suffering
no negative consequences. "On account of the old man, I think,
I had no trouble. "
>no they didnt
Is that the reason why we have
>Pinkos teaching in universities fucking up the youth
>literal communists beating people up in the streets
>hive-minded insects dominating the global market
>kikes controlling every single piece of media and narrative for their own nefarious interests, poisoning the minds of the masses.
>such a fucking vile coin where the paper isnt backed by any metal or proof-of-work but a bunch of kikes planning how to keep fucking the world with usury.
>putting the world in a cold-war for decades where a single fucking push could end the world with nuclear fire.
>all of this because the USA kept throwing free shit at the USSR so they could keep launching wave upon wave of slavs at the germans.
>started throwing their own waves at the germans in some of the most stupid and bloodiest conflicts in WW2
>letting the pinkos get away scottfree instead of fucking them up right there and waiting for them to become a powerhouse again now with nuclear weapons ready to burn the fucking world
>the japs deserved their bitchslap,though.
No one gives a shit about your spergy pol wankpost. All it tell me is your ability to actually study history or discern truth is nil an you're just an echo chamber drone that desperately wants to belong to anything. The consequences of the Nazis winning ww2 would have been horrific..
And as regards communists. I've actually shot a few of them. I would not mind shooting a few of your kind either
>Who else puts a daycare in a building where they command the deaths of dozens of civillians
Someone who would like to have emotional capital if someone where to attack that particular government building
>pol
you faggots don't even realize how much you stick out here
>Americans defending Mcveigh
>Americans calling Vietnam a noble war.
>Americans supporting Mai Lai and following unlawful orders.
>Americans wanting Nazi Germany to have won the war
This board sometimes, some of you actually need to be shot.
>acting like mcveigh did anything wrong
Fuck off, kike
T. Oklahoman
I Fuck off back to pol
Certainly in the ADF at least your duty is to not follow an illegal order.
>pol
>you have to be from pol to want to attack a government force that brazenly kills women and children
>you have to be pol to engage a government target in an act of war
God damn, imagine being so fuxking pos'ed that you honestly think the FBI building wasn't a valid target. protip: dont put a daycare in an FOB when you start a fucking war.
was this a fake profile?
I swear I remember somebody posting shots of an air unit destroying a hospital convoy. It bothered me that nobody seemed to care.
Nothing justifies killing innocent non combatants. Mcveigh had a point, but by bombing he made himself just as bad as the people he wrote about. Is killing children really the message you want to get out when you want to make a point about the government killing children?
*We're waiting for you intensifies*
He didnt know about the day care and was on record stating that if he DID know he wouldn't have targeted the fbi building. Its called collateral damage and its happening in the middle east right fucking now. The fbi started a war by murdering noncombatants in their own homes. Mcveigh targeted a head quarters for an enemy combatant, a valid target for any wartime law. Unless you're a bleeding pussy pacifist and think ALL WAR IS EBUL then mcveigh literally did nothing wrong. Like i said, dont put daycares in military headquarters, thats a bad fucking idea. Reminder, despite mcveighs capture and death he still won. It was BECAUSE of his actions that the FBI stopped acting as the military arm of the police and moved towards deescelation policies.
