???? Ear plugs don't stop tinnitus, they just make it more noticeable, that's why a lot of people with it sleep with a fan on.
Having earplugs in your ear 24/7 won't stop further damage to your ears and it won't repair your ears. Hearing loss and tinnitus are permanent and cumulative. They only get worse and you will never "recover" from it.
Wearing them won't do anything for you, unless you are constantly exposed to very loud noises. Try to follow pic related for what causes damage.

You could try listening to recordings of rain/thunderstorms. It's the same white noise idea of a fan, but it's a bit more random so it might be harder for you to notice the eeeeeeeeee.
