Only European and American ships, Chinese ships are known to be able to defend against rammings because China uses quality steel alloy and is not corrupt like America or Europe that use plastic and alimunum alloy.
Alexander Sanders
Modern naval vessels are largely unarmorued, because building missiles that laugh at any armour you could put on there is quite easy. The Roma and HMS Warpsite were sunk and utterly buggered respectively by guided munitions back in WW2. Armour also wouldn't really help against collisions. It's made to stop something small and fats that tries to punch a small hole, not something huge and slow crushing all in its path. You need overall structural strength here, not armour, just as a bullet proof vets won't do much good if you get hit by a car. Armour may even harm, by making the ship heavier and thus less likely to simply be pushed aside.
As for the damage caused her,e you should keep in mind that the civilian ships here haven't been some small sailing boat, but utter leviathans. The Yamato was about 75000 tons. A Nimitz class carrier is about 105000 tons. The oil tanker that hit the Norwegian frigate was at the times about 107000 tons. The container ship that mauled the USS Fitzgerald could carry the mass of four complete Arleigh Bruke destroyers as cargo. These collisions aren't so much "tank collides with with a Mondeo" and more "jeep collides with an 18-wheeler".
This is a lie asshole. There is no point system for Chinese citizens
Hunter Walker
Theres a big difference between a 16in shell and 100k ton freighter. Even BBs back in the day didn't take collisions well. Pic is the Washington after it collided with the Indiana. Indiana got a big hole in its side.
metric ton's that is and the USS Nimitz is 101 600 metric ton's in comparison.
Tyler Myers
the weak should fear the stronk nah but seriously if they stopped with the diversity hire when it comes to ships worth hundreds of millions the problem would resolve itself.
Lincoln Richardson
>go back to WW2 tech I'll take what was the HMS Victoria disaster for $100, retard.

You really couldn't have given a more CIDF answer at all 50 Yuan have been deposited into your WeChat account

It's not even China. It's fucking mess-making Ruskies trying to build hatred between China and the West
>all the Amerimutts falling for the bait >the joke is its true
Gabriel Long
>hello im the China shill >guys this is the China shill >no actually its the Russian shill d&c against China and America Can someone just please range ban Indian IPs from this board?
Blake Moore
>China uses quality steel alloy and is not corrupt like America or Europe this made me lol
Landon Barnes
it's about how dumb the captain is
John Lewis
Chinese willingly and frequently ram all sorts of ship because of the whole South China Sea dispute.
Modern warships can ram shit, you just don't want to ram into a fucking brick wall like a fucking tanker/container ship.
Which can go on one party of both. With recent US Destroyer accidents, it reflected poorly on the training of the Navy crews and showed complacency towards staffing their watches. In this case, we don't know what happened yet. It could have been the Norwegian crew not paying attention or it could have been the tanker doing something stupid.
Michael Edwards
thank you for an informative reply despite this being a bait thread
Parker James
Looks like it would be easy to bait Chinese ships into ramming modern disguised fire ships.
Landon Sanders
Modern warships have like 1/4 inch steel hulls. Armored hulls are pretty defunct. The extra weight decreases speed dramatically. Also if you get hit by an AShM, less armor increase the potential of the missile passing through the ship before exploding.
Easton Anderson
>The container ship that mauled the USS Fitzgerald could carry the mass of four complete Arleigh Bruke destroyers as cargo You keep what your kill
Brayden Roberts
ramming you say? the filename is because the british said the icelandic coastguard often acted with regard for life pic is a british tug showing regard for life
Reminder that boats get rammed all the time but there is no incident of a Chinese ship getting damaged. Russia has the Kursk and America has a couple of incidents but not China. Just show Chinese advantage in metallurgy and common sense.
Zachary Roberts
Or the Chinese government censors any negative reports about their military like literally everything else your dictatorial government does.
Liam Johnson
Impressive.
Camden Fisher
One of the worst displays of military incompetence. Admiral makes an order that he should know is impossible, that other officers know will result in disaster, and no one says a thing and just lets it play out.
Anthony Jackson
Typical American propaganda trying to sow dissension against China, but it won't work.
Keep in mind that China had the strongest Navy when America wasn't even founded yet and Europe has unwieldy ships. That long history just shows how knowledgeable China is when it comes to sea worthiness.
Owen Green
Yeah Chinese government isn't corrupt at all kek
Cameron Turner
This Chinaman is angrier than when his family was tricked into building the railroad. Careful with that mouth of yours or the Japanese might rape it again.
Landon Price
>any fucking crack in a Chinese window makes it into U.S. national news and gets 50 threads and 5000 reposts on 4chin >i-its just because censorship we never hear Chinese ships colliding and sinking nearly as often as U.S. ships

>sinking Do you have the dumb?

I really want to drink that water.

>Missiles that have disabled ships in the last decade: >0 >Rams that have disabled ships in the last decade: >3 Missiles are currently an imaginary non-threat due to the current sociopolitical climate disabling their use. Rams are a real, physical threat that are taking out ships NOW. War isn't about preparing for hypotheticals, it's about preparing for realities.
That pic? All or nothing armor scheme, the tortion torn off was completely unarmored, the armored citadel itself can keep the whole ship afloat and afaik no direct gunfire from another battleship ever managed to beat aon scheme armor. Bismarck vs Hood does not count.
Angel Stewart
China wirr grow larger
Zachary Lopez
>An army of Phillipine pirates board and pillage a USN after ramming it
Nolan Howard
Big Brother is watching
Joseph Anderson
That may be, but colliding with supercarrier-sized cargo ships isn't something you deal with through armour, you'll be an island before you can take hits like that on the chin, but by having a reasonably proficient and rested crew on the bridge using the equipment that's already present to help prevent this kind of thing.
Alexander Bell
>Can someone please range ban Indian IPs?
Considering the pulse of phoneposters this year (including myself because I browse in public) it's not that simple as phones have dynamic IPs
Charles Walker
Different hull plating and thicknesses.
Juan Anderson
lets just ban everyone. really clean up the board.
Jace Barnes
Nigger can you into physics? Do you have any appreciation at all for how much mass you're talking about?
