no aircraft that still can fly reliably is too old

Why did we stop using it? why did we sold it to Thailand?

I learned skydiving jumping from one of these 15 years ago. Pretty sure they still have it in the hangar

Because its "better" to use billions dollars of planes dropping millions of dollars of ordinance to bomb some shithole instead of using a cheap coin plane.
They worked in vietnam that actually had a massive sam and aaa network but they dont want to use them against some sandniggers with rusty aks.

Because there are incentives for politicians who push for expensive new military technology, especially for those who have major companies, like Boeing or a shipyard in their district. It provides a lot of jobs around the country, and benefits from lobbyists/campaign donations

>The 4400th recommended the aircraft not be used in combat without a major upgrade program. Specific problems identified included a slow combat speed (135 knots), a low working altitude, no capability for "zoom" escapes after delivering ordnance and a complete lack of armor protection for the crew and vital aircraft systems. On June 30, 1972, the 4400th SOS ferried the AU-23As to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, for storage.

The Light attack competition for the USAF has been postponed for the foreseeable future

GILF

That is infuriating.

I was shocked the first time I saw a Dragonfly in person. It's tiny and low to the ground. I was driving an NA Miata back then and I think my car was bigger.

I loved it when you bungee jumped to bottom of the dam and blew up the weapons factory.

Why would the PC-6 be obsolete?
it's a light STOL transport it doens't need to be hyper advanced, like the C-130

Are those auxiliary fuel tanks? If so what kind of range/loiter time does that bad boy have?

With that much fuel, about 8 years

I have no idea but I'm going to take a wild guess and say that's for mid-air refueling.

The porter was special.
