>be Ruger >design a new polymer striker-fired wondernine >big fucking deal >BUTWAITTHERESMORE >17rd mags like a g17 >more affordabe than a glawk >designed for the military >sexy as fuck >such a good idea that HK ripped it off for the VP9
Is the Ruger American pistol gonna give Glock some competition or do you think that Gaston will always stay on top?
>gun will fire with magazine removed Was it mental retardation?
Juan Gray
What are you? Some kind of retard?
Adrian Anderson
WILL _____ FINALLY DETHRONE GLOCK???
No
Nathaniel Martin
Hasn't ruger already replaced this with the security 9? If it didn't dethrone glock when it first came out why would it now?
Asher Allen
This gun's been out for like three years. If it were going to dethrone glock, it would have done it already.
Aiden Reyes
Legalese
Carter Jones
Is that not covered in the manual?
Jacob Adams
You're vastly underestimating how retarded and sue-happy people are.
Carson Smith
>frame cracking recall Lol no thanks
Gabriel Brown
This gun was finished once all of the youtube reviewers took a payout to shit on it.
Just from what i can remember: >MAC, gives the first review and spreads out fake news that the gun gives slide bite. >hickock45, gave a full review and said it was boring to shoot because it was as good as every other wonder9, but doesnt recommend it because other people say it gives slide bite even though he nor his son personally never experience it. >nutnfancy, gives his first review on it at shotshow, without actually firing it, brings up how other people experience slide bite, and starts trash talking how the ambi mag release is the stupidest invention in history and you will drop the mag when you lean on a wall. His second review where he shoots it in the field, he mentions the slide bite again even though him nor his buddies experienced it themselves. Repeats what hickock says and says the gun is as good as every other wonder9 but is boring.
Then you look at the small name reviewers and they have nothing but great things to say, perform torture tests without failures, etc.
The whole slide bit urban legend started from MAC, which caused everyone else to mention it, without a shred of evidence.
This will sound like shilling, but i am a 1911 guy. My hand shape fits a 1911 profile more comfortably than any sig 226 or glock. I ended up buying the ruger because when you put the small sized grip on it, it feels closest to holding a 1911. I have had zero issues with it, and its the usual ruger built like a tank design. It factory rated to shoot +P ammo. First time ive ever seen a manufacturer actually give the go ahead to regularly shoot +P.
Ryder James
FN made the best competition to the glock. How many military or police contracts does ruger have?
Gabriel Rogers
How about this?
>be the best striker fired gun on the market >look kinda weird >no one buys you because you look weird
I have the compact version which is the one that was supposed dethrone Glock. I also have a glock 19 and a CZP10. Honestly ? The ruger shits on both, the only drawback is the weight but even then, the sights are amazing, trigger amazing, magazines are solid, ergonomically is smooth and adjustable for every hand. I'm actually sad that I can't shoot with it for some odd reason because for a while it was my EDC until I realized I'm a better shot with the G19 but my wife, my roommate and his wife like theirs because we got the RAC for 190, yes...190 dollars if we got more than 2, so we got 4.
Jonathan Cox
>sexy
it's like a FN Five-Seven fucked some of triangles and this was the fetal alcohol syndrome baby
This right here, a buddy got an APX compact and even though I don't like striker fired guns I loved everything about it, the trigger, the way the grip feels, all of it, and yet the toblerone slide makes me not want to buy it
Fuck no. The trigger is mushy, and the reset is even mushier. Doesn't break too cleanly either and stock sights are just 3 dot. The slide serrations are dogshit too, especially for anyone with man hands.
Ergos are mediocre, and the muzzle flip is worse than the equivalent glock. Any generation of glock 17 or 19 beats this 100% of the time.
Elijah Clark
Sorry lads The Styer M9 or Walther have the best shot at actually being a better gun imo
Jace Perry
Nice. I bought the compact version for my first pistol last year and thought I got it for the great price of 280.
Overall the gun feels good in my hands. I'm a leftie and went with it due to the ambi controls along with the good price. I have had issues with getting fte's at around the 200 round mark after a cleaning, but I believe it's the ammo I was using (winchester white box). Currently trying out remington green and white box and have gone 400 rounds without issue.
Matthew Russell
Bought the compact for ~300$
No regrets. It's pretty comparable to everything else.
>This gun was finished once all of the youtube reviewers took a payout to shit on it.
This. It was really surreal watching the reviews on it, then seeing the smaller independent opinions that came out later.
Independent testing verifies 25k+ rounds with NATO and +P, and no issues like SIGunderbidSAUER
Thomas Cook
>give Glock some competition this gun missed the train years ago. it was mostly a downgrade from the SR. they're giving up on competing with higher quality and making non-shit budget guns now.
Gavin Brown
>I'm a leftie and went with it due to the ambi controls That's one of the reasons I bought it as well. I've had absolutely zero problems with it thus far using cheap range ammo. What is "slide bite" anyways? I've never heard it before I opened this thread. If the slide is hitting you, you're holding the gun wrong.
Nolan Brown
They dropped a few features the SR series had, but I'd argue it's more durable.
The early reviews I've seen are mostly >ITS UGLY? >ITS A FEW OUNCES TOO HEAVY >ITS ... FAT! IT'S FAT. >I HELD IT WRONG WITH THE WRONG BACKSTRAP AND IT SQUEEZED MY KNUCKLE FUNNY >BIG MISTAKE, BIG FLOP, WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!?
Austin Perry
A lot of police type pistols used to have this feature, the idea being if someone grabbed your gun while you're grappling with him, you can hit the mag release and not have to worry about the gun being used against you. These days, with retention holsters, they're not as common, but in that historical context it does make some sense.
Adam Bailey
You're implying that the SRs were less durable when I've never seen anything on one break. They accomplished that by adding weight and making it heavier than the competition. If it shot better fine, but it handles recoil worse than the SR series and that was an unforgivable mistake. The SR was already a heavy pistol and competing directly with the MP9c for makret share in the concealed carry bracket. People don't want to add ounces unless there's a return on it.
Never gotten a slide bite with the RAPc and not sure how this rumor got started outside of somebody holding the pistol stupidly and getting bit.
This makes gun reviewer sound like the liberal media. One person posts a review and everybody else just copies it without doing any real reviewing. Wouldn't be surprised to be honest.
Elijah Phillips
>This makes gun reviewer sound like the liberal media. One person posts a review and everybody else just copies it without doing any real reviewing. this isn't "liberal media," it's human nature. we're incredibly vulnerable to suggestion, and we will parrot things from sources we respect without double-checking it. it takes actual willpower to avoid doing this kind of thing, and you shouldn't be surprised when ANYONE does this.
