Anyone know anything about Chinese special forces. Alot of articles suggest that PLA doctrine Special Forces are equivalent to US Rangers and that they don't use small special mission units equiavlent to Delta or SAS ect.
Also anyone got any PLA patches to post as they look intresting in pic related.

They are the best in the world. This has been proven by international competition.

That patch is quite distinctive, it is Xinjiang province Sky Eagle Commando.

Incidentally, these are People's Armed Police, who might be called 'Special forces' in that their mandate is all internal counter terror operations in China (inconjunction with city-bound civilian Police SWAT). The regular PLA utilises SFOR also, Though in a more conventional military sense, intel, forward observation, recon patrol, that sort of thing.

PAP are Sort of like Russian Rosgvardia (former FSB) in that they are 'Special forces', but have a broad spectrum of jobs. PLA SFOR would be like Russian/Soviet GRU, strictly military intelligence.

If you are looking for interesting Chinese patches, I recommend ebay store 'army6688', he has a broad range.

Since you seem like you know something about this, why exactly did they decide to give each province its own team instead of having them all under a unified command? It just seems odd, like if each state in the USA had its own SEAL platoon or something.

Very Impressive

I admit I don't know much about them, but some of the pictures they put just seem like they're a solution looking for a problem. Like, do soldiers actually need to know how to shoot pistols from the backs of motorcycles? Is that something which the world needed?

What you gonna do when these motherfuckers sweep through your home town like mechanised mongols

They’re a glorified police force
Reminder that they’re not a military anymore, haven’t fought a target that shit back in fourty years and solely exist to keep the ccp in power
Just like the episode of arrested development when the bluths ran the family of the year contest

Good question, I think this can perhaps be answered in two ways:

The first is that many provinces in China are defined as 'autonomous regions' (including Xinjiang). This means they have some leverage from the central government in Beijing to make their own laws and regulations, similar to state versus federal law in the US maybe. As such, some individual provinces can have local units (in particular border-patrol militia).

Second: The PAP (just like the PLA) does have a unified command, in Beijing. So while a PAP unit might be permanently deployed in a single province, and most of their operations occur within that province, they are nonetheless subordinated to PAP HQ.

Since the PAP mostly do local guarding, border stuff, CT and that kind of stuff, it is unusual that all units dispersed over China would need to be brought together.

pic mostly unrelated, one of my uniforms with modern patches for PLAGF.

>Alot of articles suggest that PLA doctrine Special Forces are equivalent to US Rangers and that they don't use small special mission units equiavlent to Delta or SAS ect.
They have 2 types of special forces. The first type are rapid-deployment forces comparable to the 173rd Airborne. These are relatively large units, equivalent to a US Army "Airborne Brigade Combat Team" (ABCT) in terms of size, so roughly 4500 men. There are also smaller teams comparable to Delta Force which they don't publicly acknowledge.

No. PLA exists mostly to ensure the population doesn't get uppity. You have to remember that Taiwan still exists and is a constant sore reminder of what happened the last time they got into a civil war.
China has a long history of the central authority being extremely paranoid about rebellion.

>China has a long history of the central authority being extremely paranoid about rebellion.
thats because they've always had shit governments

>.blog
It is almost certain that the entire point of shit like that is to make them look so cool and shit to build up an image of themselves, kind of like the whole “Spetsnaz doing backflips and throwing axes at targets” thing. It’s all for show, as notice how groups like Delta, SAS, GROM, GSG9, etc. don’t do anything of the sort. Most of the time at least.
Don’t forget the whole Mandate of Heaven thing.

Not really. Its because of the Mandate of Heaven.
>Be imperial dynasty.
>Have the Mandate of Heaven
>Mandate of Heaven = proven by ruling China properly, defeating barbarians, prosperous realm, auspicious signs.
>Fail on something at one point.
>Even worse: completely natural phenomenon like an earthquake or a typhoon or a bad flood happens
>Ambitious general/rebellious province/ambitious courtier/weird religious cults = AAAAAGH THE DYNASTY IS FAILING MUST REPLACE PREFERABLY WITH ME!!!

this, when you swear into the PLA you don't swear to defend China and the people, you swear to defend the Party.

“I am a soldier of the People’s Liberation Army. I swear: To obey the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, to wholeheartedly serve the people, obey commands, strictly observe discipline, fight bravely, not fearing sacrifice, to do my duty, train hard to fight the enemy, to always be prepared to fight, to never desert, and to defend my homeland to the death.”

Whip a bicycle cable lock at the front tire, then pick up my slightly scratched up new Chinese milsurp guns from wherever they come to rest.

So? Iirc, when I enlisted I swore to uphold and defend the Constitution.

PLA Special Forces are superior to Delta user.

reminder that soldiers in china get paid min wage to shitpost on the internet on anything china related

The PLA pledge alligence to a party, not a hard written set of ideals.
It would be like swearing alligence to the Republicans or Democrats and fighting for them no matter what they do

What’s the constitution?

they don't because they can't

See black hawk down

Fact is, the US without air support is shit.
>""""elite forces"""" got shook by literal unarmed fishermen.

also:
itt: a bunch retards who didn't know that the PAP is a complete separate entity from the PLA and each has its own budget
>muh defense spending mostly for internal suppression

why would China do that? Those men were train to maintain peace within China's border unlike the imperialists.

Last time China experienced combat they ran away and let the un workers get blacked and killed

Anytime groups do stuff like that it's not meant to impress us foreigners. It's recruitment ads for their own aimless youths.

who does the PLA even fight?

Chinese citizens who step out of line
They’re nothing more than a police force

>Army exists solely to keep the government in power
So like literally every army on the planet? What exactly do you think armies do?

They were told to there's a video of it on YouTube they regrouped and attacked back

A fucking SWAT team won 3rd place last year

but the PAP is a police force?

Beijing Military Region – "Oriental Sword". All 3,000 soldiers in this unit complete all types of operations and are regarded as the elitearm of the country.[2]
Beijing Military Region Special Forces Unit – "Arrow". Established in the early 1990s, this unit is equipped with high-tech equipment including unmanned aerial reconnaissance vehicles (UARVs), individual blast devices and handheld laser dazzling weapons. Every soldier from this unit must be able to run five kilometers bearing heavy equipment in under 25 minutes, complete a 400-meter obstacle course in under one minute and 45 seconds, perform 100 push-ups in a minute, and repeatedly throw grenades more than 50 metres (160 ft).[3]
Guangzhou Military Region Special Forces Unit – "South Blade" or "South China Sword". This unit was established in 1988 as the PLA's first special reconnaissance group. It was expanded in 2000 to become the first PLA special operations unit to be capable of air-, sea-, and land-operations, similar to U.S. Navy SEALs. Basic training for this unit includes cross-country running, climbing, swimming and shooting. The soldiers must also be familiar with operating 15 advanced technologies including GPS navigation, night vision, and photo reconnaissance.[3]
Chengdu Military Region Special Forces Unit – Falcon. Established in 1992, this unit is specialized in target locating and indicating, airborne insertion, sabotage and offensive strikes, and emergency evacuation. The unit was also used by Chengdu Military Region to experiment with new advanced concept equipment and tactics, including the digitized army soldier system and high-mobility land weapon platforms.

Shenyang Military Region Special Forces Unit – Siberian Tiger" This unit is trained to complete missions on the ground and in the air and water, as well as surviving in the wilderness alone or in small groups. The unit is said to place special focus on survival skills; it often breaks protocol by increasing this training by an two-thirds, forcing soldiers to spend three to four months in difficult environments such as forests, mountains, deserts and grasslands with no man-made shelter or food. Soldiers in the squad are trained on multiple transport vehicles for roads, railroads, waterways, and in the air. Individual members of the unit have reportedly completed parachute landings more than 5,000 times and logged scuba diving training of more than 1,000 hours.[3]
Nanjing Military Region Special Forces Unit – Flying Dragon. This is the special land force of east China's Nanjing Military Region.
Nanjing Military Region Special Forces Unit – Oscar.
Lanzhou Military Region Special Forces Unit – Night Tiger. This unit has a long history, with its origins dating back to World War II. It is home of China's first counter-terrorism unit, established in 2000.[3]

Jinan Military Region Special Forces Unit – Eagle. Soldiers from this unit are said to focus on training to enhance cardiovascular endurance, including being able to run at least 3,300 meters in under 12 minutes. They also reportedly engage in hand-to-hand combat training and the traditional Chinese health and martial arts practice of Qigong.[3] Soldiers of the Eagle special force can complete sea-air-land operations,[2] in a similar way to the U.S. Navy SEALs.
Leishen (Thundergod) Commando Airborne Force is trained for reconnaissance operations for the PLA's airborne units. It is capable of performing strategic deterrence, combat assault, and task operations under IT-based conditions. Members of this unit recently attended the Golden Owl-2015 International Competition of Special Forces held in Kazakhstan, and won first place.[4][5] Representatives also attended the Russia International Army Games in 2015 where they took first place in the Airborne Platoon competition. Ten teams, from Kazakhstan, Belarus, China, Russia, Indonesia and Singapore, attended the competition.[6]
PLA.Navy commando team Sea Dragon. Members of this force are equipped with black uniforms. Its first publicly known mission was to accompany three Chinese warships in protecting and escorting commercial ships against Somali pirates in December 2008, in cooperation with other nations as part of a UN mandate. Since then, the unit has participated in anti-piracy missions in the Gulf of Aden for over 300 days.[3] Sea Dragon's Jiaolong Assault Team helped evacuate 225 foreign nationals and almost 600 Chinese citizens from Yemen's southern port of Aden during late March 2015, during the Yemeni Civil War.[7]
The Southwest China Falcon special force is known as Leopard.[2]

Not really? They have dynasties that lasted a good while. We just don’t think it that way because we just get a quick overview of all their dynasty changes. They were among the first to have public exams for government positions, so the common folk had a legitimate way into the courts. Their later governments were where it all went to shit.

Doesn't matter. It shows that this competition is not in any way some kind of indication of who has the best "special forces"

literally all he said was "nuh-uh, we dont do that!" And then proceeded to give no evidence

Dood, nobody in the world is better than SEAL Team Six in killing friendly forces.

It's not in the West's interest to show China literally anything they can that would further their training and efficacy. Reminder that it's also possible that the Chinese took the same stance and that anything they show us is a smokescreen.
