Why do people celebrate this gun grabber?
Wyatt Earp
Boomers
Story time? I only know what (((Hollywood)) has shown me
The shootout at the OK corral was started because wyatt Earp and his gang wanted to disarm his rivals under a new city ordnance that said you couldn't carry guns in town anymore.
So he was a despotic bootlicker? Funny how he's considered a praiseworthy American
>So he was a despotic bootlicker
Basically, yes
Don't forget the Earps' shady bullshit during the Civil War as well.
proof gun control doesnt work
I'm interested. Tell me about earps shady bullshit.
Nearly all towns in the old west had similar ordinances. They were generally enforced selectively, though, which is what Earp was doing.
Stop, just stop.
I'm not going to give you a history lesson, i'll just leave it at. Differn't time, differen't problems.
>gun control is good when it disarms people I don't like
>I like wyatt Earp because Cowboys
Yeehaw
Virgil and James were in "garrison duty" in MO and KY/TN respectively. Union CoIn in those regions degenerated into executing anyone found in a Union-blue coat (who was not a Union soldier) or simply found armed, on the spot by the end of the war.
Crack some knowledge eggs on us then. Come on historybro, what went down?
Damn. Still surprises me how much fucked up shit was done. Reminds me of Jack Hinson's experience.
>After Union soldiers seized and murdered his sons, placing their decapitated heads on the gateposts of his estate, Hinson could remain indifferent no longer. He commissioned a special rifle for long-range accuracy, he took to the woods, and he set out for revenge. This remarkable biography presents the story of Jack Hinson, a lone Confederate sniper who, at the age of 57, waged a personal war on Grant's army and navy.
Nope, The Cowboys were actually leaving town and the Earps were sent in to escort them out. See, the McLaurys had been butting heats with the law and decided to call it quits before someone went too far. Wyatt was sent in to make sure they actually were leaving and didn't take any "detours". However, there was so much bad blood that the Corral was a dry tinderbox despite nobody wanting to get in a fight.
Then SOMEONE pulled out a gun and it all went to shit.
Virgil Earp was there in Hinson's county! His squad likely killed Hinson's oldest in a failed guerilla raid on Dover
da fuk. i didnt know that
Because they're boomers and boomers grew up on 10,000 western movies and shows AKA capeshit of their era
While I don't like Earp or his weird mythos, you could still carry a gun, it just couldn't be carried openly
imagine being Virgil, coming home from the war and your wife thinks your dead and left forever with your only child. no wonder they were all cucks
All those concealed carry options for the hoglegs of the era
>picked up some kydex at Goodpasture's store the other day for my Mason conversion the other day. Oughtta check em out, pard
SHALL, you bitch.
Also I don't know why I'm so angry about this. Probably been watching too much Justified and it's thrown me into a fit of Jeffersonian indignation. sorry.
should promote a freedom fighter who loved guns instead
I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just elaborating on what exactly was going on
You could have a derringer type pistol in your coat pocket
>All those concealed carry options
They were single action revolvers. Your entire belt line is your holster.
Which would not be concealed. Your barrel lengths start at around 4 3/4" and go up to and past 8"
>1880s
>belts
*Snaps suspenders and guffaws*
i love me some bp revolvers
shooting my walker makes me smile everytime
>Tell me about earp!
Why does he wear the moustache!?
Correct that's the Basic burger mentality
Cowboy gun thread?
>*Sips whisky*
>"Damn filthy sodbusters"
wikipedia mentions none of this despite citing that very book. i checked the talk page and some leftist faggot wrote about how "union soldiers didn't behave like this, what is this, game of thrones?" and removed all of it despite having a legitimate source
Good on ya.
*Spits*
fags gonna fag
All in favor of posting the Western-hater
out of town?
they had belts they just didn't use them to hold up pants
They wore them to hold up their guns. Not concealed. You get shot down by the Earp mob
>a thread full of noguns and people who unironically fill out 4473s and tax stamps cry SHALL and sob over a sheriff who tried to disarm and ended up ventilating some subhumans hundreds of years ago
Yikes
>Yikes
you have to go back
What's a 4473?
Plz be bait
You don't buy all of your guns at Roy Rogers??
he was surrounded by mexicans and what we call today Tweekers...
He did nothing wrong
That was normal for western towns. The cowboys were literal cattle rustlers working for a large cattle concern to tighten the stranglehold on commercial cattle.
So fuck 'em
Based Confederates
i dont get it. you made an addition to the wiki sourcing from the book and some faggot removed it? and the loser actually used game of thrones as a comparison?
