God I love this plane. The 1a clubs the shit out of 109E/Fs and 190As in War Thunder Sim but I'm the only one who flies it it seems.

N1K then. The other is the Seiran, a floatplane bomber meant to be launched from the I-400 class subs. N1K was a great plane in all honesty, like the Ki-84 and Ki-100. Just too late and almost no experienced pilots left to fly them, and no infrastructure worth speaking of to maintain them.

Back when I played War Thunder, I had both the 1a which was a goofy yet fun plane and the premium version, which I loathed. Few times I flew it before putting it away. Got to the standard version and I fell in love with that one. Plenty of fun shooting down Russki fags in their Yaks & La-Las with that Typhoon.

Also the 40mm Tempest was stupidly fun too.

That's a Hellcat, not a Wildcat. Wildcat F4F. Hellcat is a F6F.
Easiest way to tell is look at the landing gear. Main gear fold into the fuselage on a Wildcat. Hellcat folds into the wing.

F4U-1s were landing on carriers in 1942, Vejtasa was even involved in the plane's carquals. It failed carquals because it didn't hold up the Navy standards for carrier landings.
British landing patterns and the installation of the stall strip on the right wing could have had the plane on carriers even before the F6F was operational, but the Navy dragged their feet and preferred the Hellcat for the majority of the war.

It took them so long to make the tail not look ridiculous though. And by that point the prop had too many blades.
To actually make a flawless Spitfire in looks, you'd have to mash a bunch of marks together. Because in typical British fashion, they can't design anything good without still fucking it up a little.
