Absolute meme, but a cool one.

just count how many shots you take lol

memes, having a large capacity gun with at least 15 rounds and being able to place bullets where they need to go is more important. If you have an opportunity in a gunfight whether it’s in the street or Afghanistan, you should top your gun off regardless of whether or not you shot 3 rounds or 12. You don’t need an ammo counter to tell you to do this.

Would buy a red dot over an ammo counter any day of the week for futuristic and practical applications.

I think everyone here is autistic enough to keep track of their shots, but not quite autistic enough to add a fucking ammo counter.

>OH SHIT COMBAT STRESS FUCK FUCK I'M GONNA DIE
>Did I fire six times or seven?

I want it I want it

Too early in its infancy to be useful enough to outweigh its cost. Hardware needs to become cheap, disposable, and easy to install for it to really catch traction.

That being said, it's a really really fucking cool meme.

Is this out yet or is it just a demo? Also how much? I want to stick on my comp gun for shits and giggles, plus it'll get beat up in the edgy "simulationist 2-gun" scene we have here and it'd be interesting to see how it holds up.

>has full sweat guard
heh nothing personal

Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, PUNK!

What do you mean you don't know how many bullets you have left?

Attached: archer.jpg (1080x600, 102K)

Shoot until the slide locks, just wurx.

tactical reload dumbass

pretty cool. one step closer to becoming a judge

This. Like washing your hands when doing kitchen work. Part of the job, pros do it often without much thought as habit.

>Only having a 7 round mag
>1911fag
Not gonna make it

mine has an 8 round mag.. i'm good to go.

oh hollywood, won't won't the gun industry steal from you next.

get check

haha, looks like something out of halo, I'd buy it. but until then, here are some tips for counting your shots. If you're unsure, just assume you have 1 less shot than the lower number. If you're like "fuck, 6 or 7 rounds left" just assume you've got 5.

>not throwing away your gun as soon as it feels half empty and pulling out a new one
if you don't roll it South Central style then why even bother

And that's why I like Tediore

>I thought it was just a sensor that decreased the number per times the slide goes back
>mag drops
>0
shit thats more complicated then I thought it was.

iiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiii

I actually have been in the habit of counting for years. If I'm on my ball, I know exactly how many rounds are left. If I'm a little less than on the ball, I'm still within the realm of +/-2 rounds.

It uses a proprietary follower that put can put in any magazine. The follower can tell how many rounds it has, I guess based on spring pressure or something. And yeah, it can also tell when there's no magazine. It ALSO can tell if there's a round chambered.

sorta like pistol red dots? though I Imagine what everyone get's wrong is theirs is slide mounted.

That's neat, does it work with multiple mags simultaneously?

I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED IIIIIIIITTTTTT

Based and Archerpilled

What is a skinwalker?

It’ll get the same treatment that the first RDS had i.e.
>Who would ever need some stupid dot on their gun
>learn to shoot with irons like your pappy
>what if it fails you hmmm???!!
If it gets enough backing and support in the next thirty to fourth years they’ll be a dime a dozen from hundreds of manufacturers, from chink shit pot Metal ammo counters to Daniel Defense (TM) (APPROVED BY SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN) (MILITARY GRADE HIGH OCTANE ALUMINUM) Gucci ammo counters

Just pull the old unkempt harold maneuver.

like the pistol rds it will start as a meme and then become common after a few meme tier gucci manufacturers get on board.

It does, from what they showed.

Neat

>Meme or what?
They work as visual Viagra for me.

TIL that people don't just count how many shots they take

"I'm just super good at that"

>wasting the effort to make ammo counters instead of super capacity magazines that only need to be changed after gun battles

Cool for space gat range toy, would not use for a defensive weapon.

Maybe not meme. Acro and RMR can resist shock. maybe counter can too.

Why not just load your mag such that your second to last round in mag is a different grain? Either lower or higher? I do this for comps and I know exactly when to drop mag for speed load bc I can feel it.

DAE do this?

Not gonna happen. It's bad practice to focus on that when shit is hitting the fan.

Forgotten Weapons had a Spanish pistol that had an ammo counter that worked mechanically but I can't find it now. That seems much more reliable and cost effective if counting ammo is such a big deal for you.

Some dumb Jow Forums meme about shapeshifters in the forest. You're better off ignoring such posts.

Does this work with the 32rd mags?

I'll find you. I see you.

I’m guessing yes, if they all have that proprietary follower. Real question is what happens when lots of rounds and droppage of course

for low capacity firearms probably a meme but id imagine for 30+ rounds itd be helpful.

>not premilled for an rmr
It's like they don't even know their market, what the fuck?

Slide mounted optics fags get the rope. Your pistols have equipment rails for a reason

>t. nocarry
Yeah, that's for the weapon light. Most of us need the gun to fit in a holster when we're not shooting paper with it.

The follower is just a piece of plastic with a magnet in it. The real work is done by a backstrap that senses the position of that magnet, and of course the slide itself sensing the presence of a round in the chamber

With a 33-rounder that has 17 or fewer rounds, it should be fine. When the follower is somewhere out the bottom of the grip, it won't detect it at all and will probably report "No magazine". When it's just past 17, like 18 or 19, it may still detect the magnet and call it 17.
So:
>33=no magazine
>32=no magazine
>31=no magazine
>30=no magazine
>29=no magazine
>28=no magazine
>27=no magazine
>26=no magazine
>25=no magazine
>24=no magazine
>23=no magazine
>22=no magazine
>21=no magazine
>20=no magazine
>19=17
>18=17
>17=17
>16=16
>15=15
>14=14
>13=13
>12=12
>11=11
>10=10
> 9=09
> 8=08
> 7=07
> 6=06
> 5=05
> 4=04
> 3=03
> 2=02
> 1=01
> 0=00

of all the dumb dirty harry references I've ever heard, this lands right on the border.

more electronic bullshit means things more things will eventually break
>what is murphy's law
>what is being able to count

What are you talking about retard? That buzzword has nothing to do with counting rounds.

Meanwhile everyone uses electronic optics on their rifles these days, even to hunt the low light before sunset.
>hehe sunny just count em out on yer fingers, you don't need no fancy calculator! What happens if ya gotta do math and the battery's dead!

if it wasn't expensive then there would be no reason not to have it honestly

Hnnnng

Attached: 7A38DDE2-666A-46D0-B4EC-72670DDB191B.png (1050x730, 183K)

And if it breaks the gun is still perfectly usable, same with any other electronic gadget you still on a firearm.

The concept is great, I'm sure the execution isn't perfect, but it still looks fucking awesome.

kek

I also love that his very idea was brought up frequently on Jow Forums and buttmad poorfags kept saying “you’d need insane electronics in the magazine and the gun frame, it’d be soooo expensive thousands per gun, never gonna happen!” Fuck you negative nancys everything cool I want out of guns will happen and I’ll buy them all

Total meme but it's one of the slickest looking memes I've seen.

We halo now bois

Hot

I can only count up to 1. Lucky since that more than I need to put your goofy ass down.

>year 2400+
>ARMS mount
sad!

Red dots get covered in soot after a couple shots then you're staring downrange into a blacked out screen. Putting an optic right in front of where the breach opens up is dumber than putting a light right under the barrel which also discharges soot.

If you're going to be that stupid, lick your finger and clear the screen. You'll have to do this every mag or so. I couldn't imagine this being practical in a gunfight. Learn to use your sights, we even have glowing sights now ffs.

Like that's not going to give away your position or blind your center focal point in low light conditions. It should be like a calculator screen, with minimal background lighting.

Do you white bois really need ammo counters?

Can't you keep track of basic math in your head?

God damn.

Why don't electric optics already have a round counter installed. It could be based off motion or sound. I don't see why I should spend all this money to become future when they can't even add a simple small interface at the corner of the screen to make my shooting experience more practical. Demand this of the industry now. We've all been getting jewed.

Even if its covered in soot on the front the dot is still visible. So if you're shooting with both eyes open you can superimpose the dot over the target

They're a meme now because they're new. In 10 years when the tech is even more durable and developed than now, it will be useful.
>just count your rounds lol
Try counting when your heart rate's 200, shit in your shorts, and doing everything else required in a gunfight. Ammo counters will become mil-spec in 25 years, screencap it.

tac reload and ammo counter are complimentary, not mutually exclusive.

this, the industry is mediocre because our dollars enable it to be so.

>Ammo counters will become mil-spec in 25 years, screencap it.
nah, we'll have infinite ammo bananas by then

I wouldn't worry about it.

>having a large capacity gun with at least 15 rounds and being able to place bullets where they need to go is more important.
Why not all three? Are they incompatible? Honest question

I think it's a meme. Wanted to start a business making them, then realized no one cares.

1+1+2+1
There's no more bullets left in that gun

You just need to listen for clicks when you have 3 rounds or less left.

But does it count the round in the chamber?

>leave cover
>line up the perfect shot
>threat is still active, but about to be ended
>CLICK
>you wasted the precious seconds you needed and die

Some of you don't understand the dynamics of a gunfight so badly it hurts.

It seems finicky. How does it sense how many rounds are left? By sound? What if someone is shooting next to you? By motion? What if you run and your gun shakes?

What we need to do is program the mags themselves. The mag itself can easily sense how many rounds are left, and when it runs empty, it can give audio feedback by shouting EMPTY to let you know.

Stupid meme. Takes away front sight focus. It will miscount at least 1 in 10,000 times and that could be someone's ass if they believe it, so you've paid a lot of money for something you can never count on. Pointless.

You're supposed to reload when it's near empty. If I knew my gun was down to 3-4 rounds I'd reload. Otherwise wtf do you do when someone rounds the corner and you only have 3 rounds? THAT (bad tactics) could be your ass. Yet another example of how layman Jow Forums is.

Brilliant, other than the auditory feedback. The mag could have a sensor which connects to the screen. It would indeed be easy and reliable to count the rounds from the mag itself.

>You're supposed to reload when it's near empty.
w...what? Tactics will differ depending on the situation but in general, you reload when there is a lull in the action, or when your gun runs dry. Whether you think you've fired 20 rounds, or 2 rounds, you reload that magazine when there's a lull, and maybe top them up if you have time.

I'm not sure how an LCD giving you a round count estimate helps at all here. If you have time to do all that shit, you have time to just drop the mag and look at it. If you don't have time to drop the mag and look at it, playing brass accountant is probably not what you should be doing with your time.

>Reloads previous save
>Spawns behind you
phhst,.. nothin personal homie

When there's a lull and you're near empty. Depending on the gun (I run a .40) I'd reload if I'm down to 3-5 rounds. 4-5 if I'm running a 9. You don't want the golden opportunity to present itself then not have enough rounds. Yeah you're supposed to hit a threat multiple times, that's even the tactic taught for intermediate caliber rifles.
