You dont need the FRT first. If it meets the criteria your technically good to go. Make a functional prototype, then show it to manufacturer, maybe then produce one to send off to for FRT.

Depends on what you are looking for. For regular items, places like Tenda, Ammosource, CanadaAmmo, etc are pretty good (I've always had good service with Reliable Gun and Frontier Firearms). If you want some oddball stuff, TradeEx is the place to go- they have lots of used euro guns in good condition. Corwin has nice surplus.
