Patriotism-fuelled Garbage

ITT shithouse service rifles invented and adopted by countries because they wanted something domestically produced.

Pic very related

Not a total piece of shit, but clearly inferior to the FAL and adopted because it essentially looked more like a dinosaur

Why is FAMAS bad? I've never seen one irl

is that a famas

Taught weapons from Upotte I see

Are you actually going to try to defend the l85a1

This thread could be a lot shorter if all bullpups were included by default.

Funnily enough the indians bought this piece of shit from the isreaelis
Looks like the indians have a sense for garbage

>britfags this delusional

The gas system (or lack thereof) for the rifle is lever delayed and can not be tuned for changes in ammo. So new ammo adoption SHOULD warrant a design change in the gun. But no cause goberment. So it sucks.

Don’t the French use a proprietary 5.56mm round that’s not NATO? Or were they supposed to and they went to NATO standard even if it’s not reliable

The A1 is pretty legendary for being garbage. The A2 is supposed to be pretty decent.

>higher muzzle velocity and greater range than M16A4
>more accurate than M16A4
>higher MTBF than M16A4

>makes other nations furious by merely existing

what's not to love?

All the problems with it.

Which were fixed in A2.

>not NATO
NATO only specifies cartridge dimensions, the actual ammunition varies from country to country. American 5.56mm will not be the same as British 5.56mm, so on and so forth. Most of it can be traced back to the Belgiam SS109 round, and there's even plenty of that stuff floating around.
Anyway, the FAMAS is supposed to have certain cartridge pressure requirements to cycle properly, so the French generally have to use ammo designed for the FAMAS.

>Don’t the French use a proprietary 5.56mm round that’s not NATO? Or were they supposed to and they went to NATO standard even if it’s not reliable
We use m193 for basically everything.
The Navy's G2 have a different barrel rifling and can use SS109 without issue.

The issue is absolutely not the lever delay action, it's the rifling that causes heavier bullets to keyhole.

Oh, and the whole mess about "MUH MANGLED BRASS, CAN ONLY SHOOT STEEL CASED" is 100% wrong and extrapolation from an idiotic no-guns journalist that is somehow taken as fact by anybody who has never even touched a famas.
The truth is that one of the lowest bidders who provided ammo (some shithole middle eastern country) provided improperly specced ammo that was causing lots of issues with blown cases, so for a time we had to revert to "war reserves" french-made ammo that happened to be steel-cased, because it's what we had on hand.
Somehow some retarded journalist thought that meant only steel cased ammo works with the Famas.

I've shot brass-cased ammo for the past 6 years with 0 ammo issues.

So this means that everyone should buy gay, unreliable, jewish and expensive fatnik weapons or shit, inaccurate, low IQ mongoloid trash that costs pennies from vatniks?

Cuz it's shit

t. Amerigoblins who are unaware of the A2 and A3

>hurr it's gud now. We just had to pay Hk nearly what we paid for each complete rifle and can't use standard Ar magazines without reliability issues even post HK fix
Right. Thing is a massive piece of shit and thankfully Enfield is no more. Some day the Brits can catch up by adopting a matured weapon system.

The L85A2 isn also garbage as it's nothing more than a polished turd that works.

I really want to like the G36. It's not all that bad.

I love the aesthetics of that gun, despite its issues.

RENT FREE

>its ok to be delusional because i can just write everyone off as being mad XD

t. sub 60 IQ inbred britcuck

>can't use standard Ar magazines without reliability issues even post HK fix

That's bullshit though. The use any STANAG and everyone has P-mags now

A2 rifle is fine, I actually use one and never have or have seen problems that are not user errors or damaged magazines.

A1 is what happens when you let your domestic firearms industry wither then try to make a service rifle.

Thanks for the info, top post.

Literally the worst battle rifle of a first world nation ever.

>The A2 is supposed to be pretty decent
It's a fucking 10lb+ rifle that shoots a FUCKING 22.

>more accurate than M16A4
AR pattern rifles are by far the most accurate service rifles out there, a piston gun that isn't freefloat can't compare at all.

>higher MTBF than M16A4
Oh this is bait. Carry on.

Are you serving right now?

the A2 is a fugly piece of shit that functions
A1 is a fugly piece of shit that doesn't function

why do yuros have such a hard-on for bullpups? is it strictly because they have serious insecurity about US superiority and want to gloat about doing something different and "better"?

>reeeeee
>*[hitler noises]

They fixed the tendency of it to spray hot brass into your cheek from a distance of 1 centimeter if you happen to need to to fight around a corner to your left?

The SA-80 is based off an AR. It's functionally identical, except it has a longer barrel.

The M14 is objectively shit. Don't try and sugar coat it

Picture from a recent OBUA exercise we did. Note the lack of brass in face. The whole 'you cant shoot it left handed in any way at all' thing is a meme.

Attached: IMG-20190414-WA0022.jpg (1600x1066, 99K)

Not him but its based off the AR18, not the AR15. Significantly different gas system and bolt.

I thought that for example 7.62mm NATO specifies a certain powerload, bullet weight, etc?
>SS109
I thought that was the NATO standard

Attached: M2 Bradley.jpg (1486x1189, 267K)

yes, the only euros who haven't fallen for bullpup retardation are the ones that have competent gun manufacturers like germany and belgium.

Based off the AR-18 like most none AR-15 based systems.

G36, K1, TYPE-89, I think that Mexican rifle is also an Ar-18 derivative

I remember hearing that the melt problem was either exaggerated or they just pretended it doesn't exist. So I don't know what to believe anymore.

literally every gun that isn't an AR-15 derivative is an AR-18 derivative.

This wasn't as much a result of patriotism as it was cronyism. If they'd contracted Sterling to build an AR-18 in a bullpup configuration then their first version would have been fine, the criticisms of bullpups notwithstanding. Instead they gave it to Enfield for basically ripping of Sterling's work on the AR-18 in a new meme configuration.
Now this is a splendid example of French chauvinism and weapons procurement leading to a shitty end result. They should have just bought/licensed FNC's from Belgium.
I think the 7.62x51mm becoming the NATO standard cartridge just cuz and then the M14 adoption also qualifies nicely. 7.62 NATO is a decent cartridge, but we could have saved a lot more money by jumping into a true intermediate cartridge like .280 British, or even better 7.92 CETME and gotten much better results.

>literally one thread where you cant shit on the Canadians because their service rifle is actually good.

The Steyr AUG worked fine as issued, criticisms of issues exaggerated by bull pups (shit triggers) are valid but I would argue that configuration alone does not make a rifle garbage.

You have to understand, most people can smell garbage a mile away. Indians are not so lucky.

Except it isn't shit.

It’s just an AR-15 built to different specs

i thought the soft barrels were a century issue

>has the non-shitty version that wasn't issued
yes, they are fine when they get fixed.

Literally everything else.

Hey if you forget the piss poor ergonomics, the awful weight and appalling balance and the fact that the modern variant now have a unit cost of nearly £10,000 each, it's merely a shit rifle.

From what ive read the chinese got a physicist with no experience in firearm design to build a "modern looking gun" so they have something cool to bring to the hongkong handover in 1997.

They shouldve stuck with the type81 design but with a smaller cartridge

>Jams more often than a middle schooler who thinks hes gonna be a famous guitarist
>Costed soldiers lives in the gulf war with its unreliability
>Whats not to love

>What even is a long stroke piston kalashnikov design?
>Lol roller delayed blowback, what is that some kind of sex act?
>Open bolt continuous recoil guns don't exist because I don't understand what they even are

You're a fucking idiot. Lurk more

They are insecure about the fact that they would have fallen to Russia a dozen times over if America hadn't been protecting them for the better part of the past century.
All the good Euros left or were killed a long time ago.
