It's not really about length but what you do with it (lol).
A single point is for standing around on security and/or the ability to take your hands off the gun while clearing rooms. It's not for long patrols.

Thanks for the info user. It has QD slots along the free float. I only bothered with QD receiver endplates on the pistols cuz i figured they were short enough but it was actually just my belly protecting my junk.

The sheer amount of copper deposition I get presumably from vapor is ridiculous. Does this eventually stop or do you guys just ignore it? Everything gets covered in a thick layer of 'dirt' and after a ton of cleaning it ends up being a chunk of copper once I rub off the black.

They can be heavier than M-LOK and can have a lot of un-used rail space but they are sturdy. M-LOK is better though imo.

Main use for a quad is if you're doing some thicc ass fucking SASS and need to use a bipod or rest the rifle off of its rail and don't want to induce any receiver flex and resulting point of aim point of impact shift. Other use is if you've got an IR laser aiming device on the far end and want to reduce flex of the rail so as to help maintain your IR laser zero.
Basically use cases that don't apply to most people. Mlok rails done right are plenty stiff.
BCM makes a stubby with storage. Tango down has some storage models. I believe Samson makes VFGs with storage as well.

I really don't understand the hate 5.56 gets. At very short ranges the recoil is extremely manageable, allowing accurate rapid fire. At the same time, the round has enough punch to be lethal at intermediate to long range.

Between ambi lowers, parts that don’t have issues with certain mags, non bending rails, improved designs on bolts/rails/etc, and better gas blocks, paying more for better equipment also gives you a nicer looking rifle.
