Yes, to escort Putin?
Jonathan Fisher
No, no, half the fighters, not the entire projected production run.
Ryder Barnes
Implessive >:d
Blake Harris
This is a mistranslation, they actually meant scrambled as in demolished for scrap metal.
Wyatt Jones
Why do they even bother calling it a stealth aircraft when it doesn't even have the final production engines?
Joshua Carter
Yeah.
Joseph Wright
Publicity stunt for mr President.
What do I win, OP?
Logan Howard
if they are invisible how do you know they scrambled them?
Evan Gonzalez
The plane's a dud.
6 planes were used to escort Putin as he inspected some Mig-31 carrying Khinzal. Before touching down on the airport, Putin's plane decided to do a very slow fly by with the 6 planes in formation. The fighters cannot fly in formation at very low speed and low altitude, they even had to fly with a high Angle of Attack (nose up and engine down) just so they can stay with the President's plane if they don't they overtake the plane. Then they can't fly too close to each other when they're traveling slow unlike Chinese planes that can literally touch each other's wings and no problem will happen.

Quality post there Chang.
It's kind of pathetic how Putin is trying to make the Su-57 seem much better than it is, parade those aircraft, pretend to care about the wages of the pilots and so on. He's trying way too hard.
Ethan Gomez
another shitposting by yours trully nationalinterest
Lucas Flores
He is trying to sell it abroad and use the money to buy J-31 which is the better plane.
Currently the Russians are trying to buy 76 Su-57 at $35 Million each, which is pretty expensive for a subpar plane, when they could just buy J-31 and have the backing of economic powerhouse, China.
James Thomas
honestly at some point i think mods should fucking slap those idiotic sites to their spam filter
99% of the russian and chinese threads are massive clickbaits and they all come from the usual 5 sites that they have nothing to do with military affairs what so ever
Angel Fisher
implessive, the year of the chinese dragon is upon us!

Impressive shitpost, Pajeet.
Robert Reed
>as he inspected some Mig-3
Probably to screen Putin from MiG-31's faulty IFF interrogator and wacky targeting computer
Noah Sanchez
kek
Jason Harris
its a cool looking plane tho.
Ryan Flores
Why is it bad that a fighter can't fly slowly at low altitude, that's never going to happen.
Joshua Smith
>Putins one trick that gets all the ME Countries to line up at the Kremlin
>Ameriboos hate it
Daniel Jones
Most ME countries with the money to buy an SU-57 already have 4.5th gen aircraft or better. No need for another that isn't even in production and wouldn't have its proposed engines anyway.
Austin Rodriguez
Because the other half is broken?
Jacob Bailey
yeah.
dunno why kids don't play with jet planes we all get toy cars to play with

I'm sorry about your childhood.

There is a reason for a lot of such countries to have multiple aircraft types around for the same job, and that's to ensure that they won't have their entire fighter fleet starved of spares if whoever they bought them from stops being friendly. If you have American, French and Russian aircraft around then odds are pretty good no amount of Mig diplomacy will ever ground the lot of them.
Of course, this doesn't mean it'll be the Su-57 specifically they buy (if Russia can't even cough up the proper engines for their own allotment...), or even that one of the suppliers have to be Russia. It'll be a cold day in Hell before, say, both China and the UK give you the cold shoulder all at once.

The plane is capable of landing at a 60 degree angle. It can even almost hover vertically.

Cooper Cooper
to pretend russia has a valid air force?
Samuel Howard
If they have a cryonics agreement with a nation that ignorant nations could not believe.
Easton Ramirez
Putin is trying to pretend that Russia is still a superpower, it's more about saving face and keeping the image up than being practical. He probably won't ever let go of his power without a puppet replacing him or give up trying to keep that superpower image up, he used to be KGB officer at the height of the USSR and during its downfall after all.
Asher White
Yeah, but I'm still amazed at the fact that this blatant shit works, despite having quite low expectations when it comes to Russians.
