Thanks friend, but idk what color it really is to be honest. I think it’s Izhevsk wood, but on some days and in some light the color ranges from brown, to Izzy orange, to Russian red.

Where'd you get the white stock and pistol grip? I have a pistol grip just like that but the guy I bought it from didn't know much about it so I don't really know anything about it.

I am working on my underfolder and my kit came with a romanian safety and a polish trigger. I can't get the safety to rotate over the top of the hammer catch. any ideas?

Yeah but that is a lot to grind down. I am thinking of getting a romainian trigger because the back part of the trigger (the catch? the part that catches the hammer when you keep holding the trigger after a round is fired) is extended and blocks the safety from rotating.

IZ108 is the one with the rail sight, right? I have the other one. I would really only buy another one for the collection. It's a fun range toy, but I could never get it to work with any mags other than the OEM 5-rounder that came with it. I would rather dump money into my Vepr 12 if I was going to seriously use one for anything.

Next gun is gonna be another 5.45 AK. I'm most strongly considering the SGL31 but I'd snatch up a 104 also. What's the best deals on the secondhand market yall have seen for these? Just as well, would it be more economical to buy all the parts necessary to make as spec of a AK74M as I can and send it to a reputable dealer over buying a secondhand SGL31 or 104?

They're fine if you don't plan to dump crazy amounts of rounds through them, long term durability is up in the air. Multiple people are reporting them passing 5k rounds without issues, just some excessive wear patterns on the right trunnion lug, which I'm also already seeing on mine. The trigger is garbage tier, get an AKT if you get one, maybe also replace the firing pin retaining pin while you're at it since Rob Ski's fell out at 4k. I have about 500 rounds on mine that I bought less than a month ago with zero malfunctions. If you're planning on being serious about AKs or it would be your first/only rifle, just get a WASR, that's been proven to last.

Wheres a good place to get an AK74 platform in the states that wont cost an arm and a leg? Got some fresh 5.45 and looking into I wanna try it out.
