Imperial Japanese Army (that's right, Army) submarine being inspected by American journalists and sailors after the war.

Because of the extremely poor relations between the Imperial Japanese Navy and Army towards the end of the war, the Army began to manufacture its own cargo ships, cargo submarines and even escort aircraft carriers to supply its many island bases.

One of the Royal Navy's "Fleet tenders", ships disguised as much more valuable targets. HMS Centurion, a King George V class battleship from 1911 disguised as HMS Anson, a King George V class battleship from from 1942.

Of all the specialized weapons, this is probably the coolest thing posted so far and possibly will be in the thread. It's incredible to imagine all those men saw in their lives.

Some of the soviet designs were really weird. There was even a plane armed with flamethrowers in the early years of war. It was designed to burn enemy columns of armored vehicles on the march and truck convoys while diving and then flying-by along the column at low speed. But the project was cancelled when a prototype of the plane almost burnt itself during the test flight, because the constructors didn't take into account the possibility of a strong headwind.

If by "the winter war" you mean the one Finns fought against the Soviets, then that pic is most definitely not from said war. The Finns didn't have MG-34s during the Winter War (nor did any of the volunteers) and only recieved a handful of them during the Continuation War.

Jup, but there is shitload of HP stamped with german "chicken"
They were mostly used by SS and Gestapo. I have had few of them in my hands, even with holsters (also stamped by german inventory marks)

It honestly is quite fascinating to read about how much those two branches hated each other

Did they ever stamped some TT-30s?

Attached: The_British_Army_in_North-west_Europe_1944-45_B14185.jpg (800x788, 71K)

The HPs were stamped with German waffenamt markings because the Belgian factory was being run by German leaders. And with Belgian workers, who happily sabotaged the products any way they could.

HPs captured from British and Canadian soldiers would not be given such markings. Nor TT-30, or M1911s and so on.

Holy just look at the hand on that fucker LMAO.

To contribute something to this thread. Soviet paratrooper ration. Unwrapped and put on a tray. Nice.

Only MG-34's Finland had were ones that came with armored vehicles. In most cases those were immediately replaced with DT's.
