I miss those days :C

Paid $100 for it. Should have got the milsurp bug years ago.

Wow, what a dead thread I started. Even Jow Forumsap who seems to have neither, job, sleep, or outside life, hasn't posted yet.

Milsurp is fucking boring
It's unimpressive and inadequate

T. boomer who likes garbage modern production guns (cheap mim castings)

if it's not a ar or ak it belongs in the trash if it's made past 1990

I was really hoping this thread would take off.

/k has been pure shit for like 3 months straight.

Msg has been getting more popular lately.

really want a mosin without getting raped by boomers, where is the best place to look besides gunbroker

gun shows. Saw a few at a show on Sunday for around 130

There's already a MSG up, that may be why

Arent the boomers the ones hording all the milsurp? I was told the great boomer die off would see a drop in prices.

absolutely. the trick is to go for auctions or befriend their MILFs before we see them all destroyed at police buy backs

make thread again on friday when my nice k31 arrives. most of the oldfags here just post family photos from four years ago. it’s too expensive to get into this anymore for most people

anyone recommend any online milsurp sellers besides kommandostore.com?

I paid $109 for mine back in 1994, I should have bought the whole table but I was a poor fag back then.

Hi everyone, I am still attempting to part with my collection, pic related is what I have. Thanks again.

Ishapore price?

Yeah actually, that seems about right. I come back about once a month just to see how it's going and it's worse every time.

Just won this at $800, which puts me at around $1000 to get both these guys home. Did I do good? RIA had another 7mm saddle ring sell for 1200 by itself in the last online auction.

Also someone dropped 2k on a Soviet Tokarev. Any reason why?

Was it a TT-30?

how do I clean/preserve my beech k31

I have a few surps. Wish I could afford to shoot some of them more.

She's a beaut. Mine is pretty beat up, I wouldn't mind getting another if I ever stop being a poorfag.
Does it still have the mon?

Should I go for a Bolo for $600? The original finish is still there, but it has a bit of exterior pitting and a "frosty" bore. The owner says it shoots just fine though.

Thinking about getting an AK, since it can share ammo with my SKS. But I'm a Califag. I heard shops that ship here put the gay handle on them to be compliant, but do they also include the original one? Or do they just toss it?

Interested in m39

Yes it does.

Dayam, with the dust cover, nice.

I was thinking somewhere in the $300's, I had an user message me about it the other day, so I will ask him what his price is first. Otherwise its all yours if you are ok with the price.

Don't use kik frendo.

Yeah I got lucky with it.

Climate control is the most important factor.

But does the dust cover match? An intact 'mum' isn't rare, nor is a dust cover, but a matching dust cover is rare.

also, upside down k31 tag alert. I thought these had the company of the soldier, but mine doesn’t match any of the markings I found, just an o or a 0. any ideas?

Bacon fat.

Na, any metallic grease is fine. Lithium grease is cheap and easy to come by though.

If you lube your guns with bacon grease does it do bonus damage to Muslims?

Limbo at the skating rink was lit

Don't let the thread die. Now that I have a cleaning rod and potentially a bayonet, I'll have to take new pictures of my Type 46

Attached: PhotoPictureResizer_190518_151940374_crop_3017x3024.jpg (3017x3024, 1.54M)

Two threads isn't helping.

Also anyone know of any sources for smokeless .43 Spanish? I've found new production from Buffalo Arms but its black powder. I have no space to start handloading sadly.

That's fair. The other one is on page 10, hopefully it'll just die.

This is going to happen.
Befriend their wives/boomers and get their guns when they die. If not they will be turned in for gift cards, and for free.

do you guys buy useful surplus items?

I think i bought a flecktarn BDU to use as a light weight jacket and cheap camo ($15 shipped)

i worked at an autoshop and they wanted me to buy a construction helmet during renovations
home depot wanted $25 so i bought this vietnam era one for $10 at a army navy store (i had less money)

and more recently i bought a bayonet because i heard the chinese repops sucked

Do you still have the k31? What's the asking price?

List your prices maybe?

I need to buy ammo for this, but I'm going to wait until I pick up my SVT-40, and then take both of those plus my Hakim to the range at the same time.

>IS THAT A MOSEEN NAGENT?

Anyone else win RIA lots? They seem to have increased their shipping drastically the last year or so. My lot was $948 after buyers premium, my total was $1090 after shipping. It was two guns but either way thats $150 for shipping.

Making me jealous

what's up with Chinese and their pointy bayonets?

Yeah

discord.gg/GZEWQP link expired heres the new one

As far as I can tell it matches

I know nothing about 1903's-

Cabelas near me got a 1903a4 that they crossed out the 4 and handwrote 1903a3, but claims it's an original scope/rifle. Didn't get to grab a picture of it because we blew through so quickly but why would it be marked as an 03 if they claim it's an original 04?

They wanted $3.5k for it so im more curious than interested

Sounds extremely fucky. It's not a totally unreasonable price if it's an honest to God A4 misidentified and in good condition, but I doubt it

How much for the star?

Hi guys, anyone wanna buy an m1917 for $650?

Attached: IMG_20190323_091907023.jpg (3120x4160, 2.59M)

Just picked up a sporterized Mauser, receiver floor plate and bolt all matching, that I'm going to treat as a rescue. From what I can gather it might be an M24. My question is, if I were to try and restore it with a surplus stock, should I hunt up an M24 stock or will any Yugo Mauser stock do? Also, receiver's been drilled and tapped so what are the odds a Smith might weld up those holes?

Attached: IMG_20190521_171411.jpg (3024x4032, 3.06M)

what state?

Real M1903A4s are marked A3, the differences being that the roll marks are offset so the scope base doesn't obscure them. If the rollmark is covered with the scope base then it's not a real A4.

>.243
It's pointless. Bubba raped that too much. A shame that bubba raped a rare one. It's not even a Yugoslavian, as yours was made when it was still the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes.

Was going to post but was checking myself first. The US didn't originally take rifles with the rollmarks covered thats the first thing to check.

Also as I remember its a way to tell WWII post war rebuild and post war made M1 Carbines. The later rear sight is bigger so they shifted the rollmark down lower.

Oldest pic I have, from 2008

My "train wreck" 1911 that began life as a Black Army Colt but bubba went nuts on the buffing wheel before bluing the bejeezus out of it

It's a good day when I know my replacement no.4 barrel is going to arrive at my door. Also, side note. I assume this is fudd lore and just a quirk of the 30-40 krag in my friend's family, but his dad (Only in his forties at this point) says that an inherent flaw with the loading is that if you put five in the hopper, the second round will reliably jam. So you put four in and have one in the chamber.

Threadly reminder that gunbroker is full of dicks

Attached: IMG_20190521_123303567.jpg (3097x633, 980K)

Is there any hope of rebarreling it to a more appropriate caliber? It wouldn't be the original barrel but it'd be better than 243 win. I am a Mauser novice so I only know it's possible not entirely sure what rebarreling entails.

If I had scores of money and a pre-bubba'd large ring 98 I'd rebarrel it to .308, put a repro military stock on it, give it a nice dark red stain, some aperture sights and thread it for a suppressor.

Yeah it's fuddlore. I've done Mad Minutes with my Krag and never once had a jam.

Is there any way to filter out tag spamming assholes on Gunbroker?
>search for Arisaka Type 44
>get results for 38 and 99 due to the seller putting "Arisaka Type 38, NOT 44, 99, Luger, Mauser, Garand..."

what is some good mom-firearm milsurp?

also, why are old bayonets so damn expensive? unless you're buying a Romanian AK bayonet, they're either expensive or in garbage condition

Attached: 99060-1912and1935chileanmauserbayonetmayneedrepairused.jpg (900x600, 125K)

Bayonets were often lost, fucked up due to some idiot using them for things like chopping wood, or simply not imported. There's also instances like the Finns melting their bayonets (thus the Finn Mosin bayonets cost a fortune).

I hate that too, and now Ebay assholes are putting low prices on things, only for you to see a higher price on the item you actually clicked for.

and it's not just auction sites. I was job hunting years ago and they tag-spammed my skillset so I had to read a bunch of unrelated job posts

Where does one go to buy super hipster brass? I'm interested in reloading for some really oddball stuff like Danish 8x58R, yet I'm not sure where I would find brass and dies.

Why did they do that?

Local guy has this no.5 for $625. It's really tempting because it looks great. I haven't bought a milsurp gun in years since the market kinda died, but my old beat up $100 no4s and smle have always been some of my favorites... and this is a lot nicer than they are.

Finn Autism presumably, but the best guess is because they needed more metal.

That's pretty high for a Jungle Carbine. Also, be sure to check if it truly is a No5 and not a fake.
>lightening cuts in the receiver
>sight only goes to 800m
>scalloped cuts in the barrel under the upper hand guard
>rubber butt plate
>check to ensure front wood isn't just cut down No4 wood

Super hipster brass you'll need to most likely form from a similar cartridge. Just about anything can be made from something more common.

For dies, check ch4d for rare or esoteric stuff. Their dies are sub-Lee level in fit and finish, but they will make what you want, and nobody else has it.

Quick search says you can make what you want from 762x54r although it will be a tiny bit short in the neck, so it shouldn't be that hard to do.

Meant to post a pic.

1957 fazakerly, I'm not 100% up on the no 5s although I was aware of many fakes. The seller is not known to cheat folks though.

I'm probably leaning on a no, but it's the first milsurp I've been tempted to buy in years.

Attached: JC.jpg (2016x1512, 484K)

>1957
That would make it a fake, as they only ran until 1947.

What am I looking at here user

Any thoughts on storing old guns horizontally vs vertically? I know oil running down into the stock is a thing. I'm particularly concerned about my Martini Henry, I don't want to be the guy to mess up the stock after 145 years

Sorry, it is 1947 based on the ad.
carolinashootersclub.com/threads/enfield-no-5-mk-1-jungle-carbine.343409/

Serial and furniture check out. The receiver is also correct. Still a tad expensive though. I'd say closer to $550 would be more realistic.

Grafs or Buffalo Arms for brass, bullets, etc. For dies, CH4D is your best bet but they take a few weeks. VERY high quality dies though and cheaper than RCBS custom ones.

The handbook of cartridge conversions should be mandatory for all surp handloaders.

wut? But why?
