Please say something nice about the best CAS jet of the Vietnam war

Please say something nice about the best CAS jet of the Vietnam war.

Nah.

It has napalm, enough said

>napalm
would the explosion kill you? or the fire?

Fire. There wasn't much of an explosion to speak of beyond what I assume is a scattering/ignition charge. The main causes of death are burns and asphyxiation from the ensuing firestorm.

"GET HIM OFF OF US, CHARLIE! GET HIM OFF OF US!!! CALL THAT S.O.B. OFF!!!"

Asphyxiation, so I guess fire if you want to get technical as napalm flames from bombs and flamethrowers suck up a ton of air when used normally suffocating any of it's victims

Long loiter, flexible load outs, low cost, and can even be used as a jump plane for recon and forward observers.

That's cheating, the OV-10 has props.

You couldn't be bothered to use an actual picture?

You do realize the OV-10's primary role was acting as FAC and willy pete marker for actual CAS aircraft, right?

CAS is not using Nuclear Weapons.

I wasn't bothered, but content that it bothered you.

They didnt really have much explosive power. It was the intense heat, the consumption of oxygen and the exhaust of toxic/noxious gasses/fumes that killed people.

>playing in a shit resolution
Why though

You do realize that was the original request. A COIN and FAC spotter. It morphed into a very flexible plane that was very good at CAS. Look at the load outs, they were pure COIN and CAS. It was flying in these roles for several countries past 2010. It still is flying as a fire fighter for California, a research plane for NASA, and a COIN/CAS for the Phillipines. It was a front line CAS plane for the Marines until the mid to late '80s. Pretty impressive for a FAC plane, which it could also do.

THE 'HUN

Attached: F-100D_firing_rockets_Vietnam_1967.jpg (3000x2400, 1.29M)

It was a willy pete shooter who's primary role was to mark targets for aircraft carrying much larger payloads than the bronco could physically hope to carry.

Please dont do this to yourself, just stop now.

That's not the A-37

I am ignorant, how many of those would actually fit on the jet at once?

This is the only correct answer.

wrong, jet fighter napalmer

But user, that's not an A-7 Corsair II

THUD

What the fuck is a "special bomb"?

The thermonuclear variety

Some of those rockets do seem a bit... directionally challenged.

I think each line is a potential payload
it shows versatility

More like max physically possible payload. The combat range with 8 tonnes would've been microscopic.

The cryllic on that poster is an affront to God and all that the engineers at Republic stood for.

Downside: brought down with just a little bit of small arms fire.

Thicc Girl.

Republic is literally a re-naming of Seversky

After Seversky got kicked out for selling to Japan.

oh boy, more obsolete garbage trying to replace the A-10. fuck off MIC, the A-10 will never not be the best CAS plane ever made.

A-10 is a shit cas that only works because it doesn't face any decent AA

Pretty stupid to send in cas if there is decent aa in the area

Also I literally work with the Patriot system, competent pilots with a good doctrine and Intel are hard to shoot down

Why aren't all CAS planes mandated to have Sharkfaces? They should be

A-7 best CAS Jet in Vietnam. loiter, load, accuracy.

Chad Thunderchief posters

Fair enough. Also eat shit, turboprop does not a jet make.

You are telling me this bastard has 24+ hardpoints?

Based and sadly, no longer permissable.

You will never shatter windows in a supersonic flypast at 100ft. Why even live.

Attached: polish glider.jpg (800x533, 199K)

I saw it
It's fucking huge

was it really used for CAS? I thought it was mainly used to bomb the shit out of the North
