They only jack off to hentai there.

Nonexistent.

From what I hear it’s basically nonexistent. Other than maybe the 5 people who can hunt there, most use airshit. They actually have gun ranges that use airsoft instead of actual firearms.

From what I understand it's basically non-existent with real firearms for civilians. However, it seems that there are groups of people who are way into airsoft and like to 'train' and be tacticool. Lots of anime feature guns and a lot of the time they are very factually accurate which suggests to me that it's not uncommon to have a deep interest in firearms. Also have no idea if Yakuza commonly have/use guns.

they like airshit and when they wanna shoot they go to guam or hawaii

Airsoft culture is huge kek
Basically shotguns only have to keep track of ammo, surprise police visits, mental health check, letter of good conduct from neighbors and people of authority in your life
Allegedly you can make some decent money being subcontracted for pest/wild pig control in rural areas but have to have experience and be fluent in Japanese

Big if true. I'm planning a week long trip to Tokyo later this year, will hopefully report back with tales of tentacle rape.

This. Complete police state, they legit believe that only police stop crime and bring "peace to the community". Sure they have a low crime rate but no funs for japs.

Here’s literally the only way you’re ever going to have a gun in Japan:
1) Join the US military.
2) Go into an MOS that involves carrying a weapon as part of your daily duties. 31B is probably your best bet.
3) PCS to Japan for as much as your enlistment as you can.

It will not happen any other way. Under any circumstances. Ever. With 100% certainty.

>Yakuza commonly have/use guns.
Have: yes
Use: no

Some (hideo kojima) fetishize them like they would to an abstract anime since guns are a fantasy concept to them.
Check out these videos produced by the Japanese on real firearms:
youtu.be/kH9iUXVbEDA

They're essentially gun porn/natgeo special

While it is unfortunate that they are virtually not allowed to own firearms, I do envy the cultures deep feelings of respect toward one another which plays a huge role in their low crime rates.

You only listed ways to legally have a gun in Japan. There are plenty of ways that you can have a gun in Japan illegally, under many circumstances with 100% certainty.

>There are plenty of ways that you can have a gun in Japan illegally, under many circumstances with 100% certainty.
No there aren’t. The yakuza, if you can even find them, won’t deal with some rando gaijin. And things aren’t like the US where you can buy/import all the parts for an AR minus the lower, then get yourself an 80% and spend an afternoon milling it out. Trying to import ANY real gun part into Japan will pretty much certainly get you raided by the cops. Also, you can’t buy ammo anywhere, so even if you did have a gun, it’d be useless.

You’re not getting a gun in Japan. Legally or illegally.

when I was living in Japan a friend of mine took me to his "home range" for airsoft. they had weekly target competitions and even gun lockers to keep your airgats

Attached: 射撃クラブ町田.jpg (1200x789, 181K)

It doesn't exist. Japan is a hyper conformist police state. Unlike America which is a hyper individualist police state with more crime.

Nonexistant, but I'm rather envious of how nice things can be without diversity.

3d printer or luty

Doesn’t solve the ammunition problem

Looks pretty comfy tbqh

You still have things like a brutal work culture and high population density.

reload "demilled" casings

BP is the way to go. Ill try to find my pics of a busted jap's percussion guns. He made a really weird colt copy too

>3d printer or luty
1) 3D printed guns are a bad meme.
2) You don't have the money to buy or the skill to use the machine tools you'd need to build a luty.
3) There's no way to get ammo in Japan.

Hunting is a thing in rural Japan. (guess this also qualifies as a gwg post)

>reload "demilled" casings
With what? You won't be able to buy gunpowder or primers in Japan, either.

>3d printed guns are a bad meme
I mean they have revolver 12ga shotguns and semi auto PCCs now, so not really.

Im sure theres more, but these were my favorite pics and thats all i have rn

Attached: homemadepercussionlockjapan-improguns.jpg (1440x810, 295K)

>BP is the way to go.
You can't buy gunpowder in Japan, and you don't have the skill or resources to make your own.

Can't reload a demilled casing either.
They are either sent through a shredder or in the case of larger rounds have holes punched in them.

Būba

>I mean they have revolver 12ga shotguns and semi auto PCCs now, so not really.
3D printed guns are the Jenkem of firearms - a hyped-up moral panic that doesn't correspond to any real-world practical threat. Also, both are pure shit.

For a very small glimpse, check out Virtuovice on youtube. He's an older Japanese man who hunts deer. He owns a rifle (which itself is crazy, because you basically are stuck with a shotgun for 10 years, only then are you allowed a rifle). The deer there are so prolific due to lack of hunting that he only bothers to take the backstrap. He does hunting videos. He also does comfy as fuck knife reviews and the occasional outdoors cooking video.

>acquire saltpeter, charcoal, sulfur
Sulfur is used in gardening/agriculture, charcoal is self explanatory, and saltpeter is extremely tedious and id imagine it would be highly restricted in jap markets. Hard but possible for a determined jap in the modern world.

?

Damn that’s not a bad top-break. Cylinder looks legit. Could use a better grip maybe. Barrel appears to be unrifled as well.

I meant bubba

You can get shotguns, including semi autos. The licensing process is fairly involved however so most Japs are too busy working 23 hours a day 7 days a week to go through it. Im not sure what the process is to get a rifle. Theres also enforced brass jewrey because you have to return your spent casings to your LGS in order to buy more ammo.

Attached: 1546403796824.jpg (1080x607, 84K)

The piece in the front wouldnt indicate rifling or lack of, its too wide
Thats just the title of the pic from the webpage i downloaded it from, i dont categorize my jpegs by title.

>Theres also enforced brass jewrey because you have to return your spent casings to your LGS in order to buy more ammo.
Oh that's something I didn't know. I'm guessing its to reduce/prevent sales of the brass to Yakuza so they can't reload them.

TFB or TTAG recently did an article on this recently, but i cant find it. Basically japans gun culture is airsoft, and its apparently a pretty big deal.

There's an MSM video out there where they talked about Japanese airsoft guns as if they were real guns.

>You can get shotguns, including semi autos.
No, you can't. Not as a non-Japanese. They make the process next to impossible even for Japanese citizens. They'll make sure that as a gaijin, you'll never get the license.

Yes, I know they let that one British guy do it as a showpiece. They won't do the same for you.

I know. You don't believe me. No skin off my ass. Waste as much time as you like getting spun in circles by Japanese bureaucracy, if that's your idea of fun.

t: Lived and worked there.

Kek

>No, you can't. Not as a non-Japanese
I mean yeah youve gotta be a citizen, left that out cos I thought it was pretty obvious
>I know. You don't believe me
dw I believe you

Holyshit, that's blingee as fuck, I kind of like it.

This thread makes me want to take a group of Japanese gun otaku to a range here in freedomland and have them shoot, it would be like a religious experience for them

I’d assrape the chick in the middle left

More and more Africans are coming into Japan via Europe. 10 years ago you only really saw them in Harajuku and Roppongi. Now every major station has them. So I expect there to be a lively gun culture in 50 years.

Also you can buy guns legally, it's just a pain. But there are guns here.

>them shoulders
>a chick
user...

If they did have a decent gun culture what kinds of firearms do you think they would import? Hunting rifles and sporting shotguns for the jap fudds? Latest and greatest black rifles with all the tacticool accessories for the gun obsessed otaku?

Attached: 1521176466861.jpg (777x704, 57K)

They will be ecstatic about having the experience but they wont push for any law reforms when they get back home. Even if they did push for looser restrictions, they have zero support from the normal population.

Japan has some really bullshit storage laws. When you acquire the license, you basically allow the police to come into your house with no warning any time of day and you are obligated to allow them to inspect your safe/ammo/shotgun
Shotguns ONLY. Most common are over/unders but semi autos are legal. Not sure what capacity they are limited to though
Pistol 100% ban
Rifle license is like impossible. Less than 200 exist in the whole country last time I read about it and I'm not sure they give out any more of them.
Also everything is 5x more expensive because "screw you"

Attached: no girls allowed.jpg (780x721, 69K)

years ago when I went I saw quite a few anti gun posters at train stations. Someone here did say that it's mostly just local groups posting it and not a larger government propaganda program though. Either way, it's weird to see anti gun stuff in a country with hardly a real gun culture.

Attached: 2013-03-05 23.02.54.jpg (912x1224, 233K)

Couple of rich guys with shotguns mostly for status
Some Yakuza who get their hands on whatever they can to do crime stuff with
Bunch of nerds with airshit wishing they could own real guns

gaijin legally obtains gun in japan

youtube.com/watch?v=NDodwo5vBfI

I remember watching a BBC news clip from years ago interviewing these airshit otakus. And when asked if they would want real guns they went into full anti gun mode.

>You’re not getting a gun in Japan. Legally or illegally.

Hate to say it brodawg, but you are wrong. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

No, not citizen
Non-ethnic japanese

Okay but you don't have the equipment or skill to make those, and anyhow you can't get ammo for them, so again, you're not getting a gun in Japan.
As I said in ...
>Yes, I know they let that one British guy do it as a showpiece. They won't do the same for you.
Believe me.
>Also you can buy guns legally, it's just a pain. But there are guns here.
No, when a friend of mine tried to get a real Japanese driver's license (not an international license), that was a pain. It took him months of paperwork and driving tests to get it. And that's for someone who's fluent in Japanese, married to a Japanese girl, and has permanent residency. And that's just to drive a car, which the Japanese kind of *want* you to do if you live and work there. They don't want you to have a gun, so as a gaijin, you're not getting one. End of story.

>Okay but you don't have the equipment or skill to make those, and anyhow you can't get ammo for them, so again, you're not getting a gun in Japan.

First off you don't know me, what I know how to do, or what tools I have, second, did you not see the several .380 cartridges in that picture? Apparently it IS possible to get actual ammunition AND magazines in Japan. Third, the guy who made the gun in the picture DID get a gun in Japan, as can be plainly seen, so why do you continue to deny it?

Who cares.

checked
also, low crime rate because no immigrants or nogs

The fuck are you talking about? Japan is the country that popularized the four winds pipe shotgun meme. You don't even need any cartridges, just make a muzzleloader!
>manufacture mediocre black powder with regular store materials
>or buy it, fireworks are commonplace so it must be available
>bp is lower pressure then smokeless so use literally any pipe design
>stuff a wad of pellets or whatever in the muzzle
>bp can be set off manually with a lighter, fuse, etc
>voila GUN

Alternatively you can make your pipe gun take cartridges like a regular four winds. Primer's fucking easy to get, just use caps from toy guns which contain armstrong's mixture.

Warning: enjoy losing your hands if you're stupid enough to use armstrong mixture as primer.

seething

kind of a shame they don't have a gun culture
they over-engineer and refine everything
imagine the shit they could be cranking out

Its next to impossible to get a gun then you have every nightmare on the planet keeping it with ammo checks health checks ect. The only people in the country that actually own guns are the 12 old guys scattered around the country who actually hunt. Fun fact the Sika deer population is exploding over there due to no predators. So to the best of my knowledge Japan is a country were you could actually make a living wage off hunting.

Damn, it would be dandy if gun salesmen dressed like that here.

While they do legitimately have a very low crime rate, they also deflate their rate by defining crime in weird ways.
For example, it's not a "murder" if they don't have a convicted suspect. Period. Two shots to the back of the head from ten feet, no suspects, no witnesses? Not officially a crime, not added to crime statistics, only death statistics.

The boar problem has gotten a lot worse and no one wants to jump through the hoops to get the 170 dollar license to be permitted to defend your farms with some pretty inhumane traps much less the 1000ish you need to get licensed to shoot them with a shotgun.
Several prefectures offer lip service to helping the problem like electric fence subsidies (which you don't need a hunting license for) or free bus rides and/or travel reimbursements for heading to the prefectural capital to take the hunting license test. Doesn't really help.
The average age of a gun license holder in Japan is something like 65. Outside of literally former nobility gentlemen hunters and a few professional pest control people, the vast majority of license holders are old farmers that have begged the nip government sufficiently for the privilege of defending their crops and livestock.
As Japan's countryside is increasingly old and abandoned I expect this relict gun culture to only become even more vestigial. Who knows, maybe they'll change the law to have a agricultural 'good cause' fast track but I doubt it.

Don't forget, part of the reason why they have such a high suicide rate is because of these weird crime definitions too. Any time there's corruption involved in a killing (read: most killings) it'll be ruled suicide, even if the suspect hit himself in the back of the head with a pipe, with his hands bound 21 times.

Additionally, the Japanese court system is absolutely fucked, a lot of the time police won't convict you if the case basically isn't a sure thing. If you're going to a Japanese court, you've already been decided as guilty, effectively.

Brutal work culture compared to the US maybe, but for them it’s normal and a part of their culture. A mans work is his complete livelihood in this land

>2) You don't have the money to buy or the skill to use the machine tools you'd need to build a luty.
Shut up faggot you don't know my life

>you don't have the skill or resources to make your own.
Yes because in Japan, one of the most educated countries on the planet, no one is smart enough and has extra money to use chemist shit.

>you don't have the equipment or skill to make those
Why do you assume everyone is as retarded as you?

>Im not sure what the process is to get a rifle.

It's impossible to buy one nowadays. Rifled firearms have been banned in the 70's IIRC, those who already owned them were given the privelege to keep them till their death, but they can't transfer them to anyone.

So yeah, the only type of firearm you can buy is Japan is a shotgun.

>brutal work culture and high population density
LA has that plus infinity foreigners and crime

there are some clues as to how bad it can be
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okinawan_martial_arts#History

we use blades the problems with a gun is getting ammo for them.

>LA
>work culture
LMAOOOOOOOOOO

they can't own guns that's why they own airsoft guns

they are the ones who invented it. I think it's all thanks to ww2 the us gi's were doing some bad things to the locals had they had guns I think us would not be able to hold onto japan for long

hunters can get a rifpe after 10 years of shotgun ownership, hell, virtuovice got his first rifle in 2011

In Philippines they literally make guns in the middle of a jungle with low tools and almost zero electricity machines.
they make replicas of 1911 with scrap metal.
I feel like if japanese really want to make a homemade gun they can. its not that hard at all. youtube.com/watch?v=pq1TXEE_QK4

uhh, i want a Type 89.

yeah me too

It’s been nonexistent since the days of the samurai. Literally Jow Forums‘s worst nightmare. Why do you think so many anime and Japanese video games are thinly veiled pieces of gun porn, like Metal Gear or Black Lagoon?

your only hope is NKorea to escalate the shit out of it and bomb a city.

Pretty good.

My cousin actually bought his first shot gun after a good long half decade of training and red stamps.

It's a Benelli

Have you guys been to Japan? The fact that you compare the dirt Farmers in the Philippines and North Korea to Japan proves you're not Japanese.

Japan is a much nicer country than even America.

It's a different culture user, don't be that asswipe.

In another timeline, weeb pistols that talk to you in a stereotypical anime girl voice.

And muslims fuck little boys routinely, it's their culture. Does that make it a good thing?

gun weebs who want them exist
weebs who actually own them are rare

This can be also attributed to jap culture and society.

They don't have gun culture but they have literally dying hunting culture, because of fucked up gun laws.
Complete gun ban might become reality in japland in next 10 years.
And we all know what will happen to wildlife when you let government handlw that.

Attached: 1544758164602.jpg (739x695, 111K)

Not my place to judge what a man does in his own country

Man I cant imagine what being someone who likes guns in Japan must be like. Though given how rare they are you would probably seen as eccentric if anything. Honestly lack of guns alone would probably keep me from ever living there.

They have a relatively low crime rate because it’s a country of Japanese people. Imagine shipping in like 1000 niggers from the US and just watching the chaos. I mean the way the country is now it’s basically a giant island full of stoned kindergarteners.
